Can’t wait to put my horse on a quadcopter, screw up while flying it, and then see my horse fall 2000ft straight down, only to be saved by landing on my small hot air balloon contraption. I will then jump off my quadcopter to pilot the air balloon so I can lower myself and my horse (named Shadowfax of course), to the ground and land on my 250 Epona Power, Zonai convertible that gets 23 miles to the tear.

The vehicle crafting feels like a natural progression from Wind Waker / Phantom Hourglass / Spirit Tracks with its boat / train customization and also the various jerryrigged flying machines and balloon platforms people built in BotW. The devs have definitely tapped into this stuff.

Now I expect a proper boat that isn't just a Korok leaf driven sail.

Maybe the car can float? Put some octo balloons underneath and you have your boat ;)

Forgive me if it's been covered but that wasn't backwards music in the trailer, was it? Near the end. I'm guessing not but it still had a creepy vibe. It's been a while since the franchise leaned into that.

Surprised that they still haven't touch the moveset from the patents, hopefully it was not just a patent idea which I really doubt.

Nintendo Japan just released an overview trailer for BOTW lol

This is what we need... for TOTK lol. I'm still kind of confused with TOTK. I don't know. It's just a weird game in a weird place for me. I hope I get more excited the more I see. I want to see dungeons, more characters, NPCs, fishing would be nice, underwater exploration, new areas to explore, etc.

I still trust that they're just hiding a lot, but I do hope they didn't see all the enemy variety complaints in BotW and think "hey let's solve that by giving some of them funny hats in this one."

what the hell is going on with this outfit? We see it briefly in the trailers, and it’s link’s official art

Yet for most of the trailers and even the amiibo, it’s the champions tunic?

There's some extra footage on the ToTK Japan website worth checking out.

the Island's in the sky are a lot more extensive than I thought from the shots on the website. A lot of varying heights of them too and some very large structures on some.

What I find most interesting is the shots where you can see Link in the world where there are no islands, and then another shot of roughly the same area with a lot of them.

edit: On second thought, that second comparison between the arrowhead and the golem's white ornament might be a stretch.

Wow, I just came here to talk about this!

I kept thinking and wondering why it seems so many enemies now have different headpieces, and I think it may be related to a way Nintendo is trying to rectify enemies having to be able to wield a weapon (so that Link can loot them).

What if different headpieces meant different materials that you needed for crafting your own weapons? Horns for stuff like spears, the tufts of hair for arrows, and metallic pieces for forging swords and hammers?

This way enemies don't necessarily always need to have weapons on them for Link to loot, instead you just craft them.

Not just that, i find this design decision sinfully ugly. It increases the size of every enemy in the same way, by adding a (comparatively thing) upper part. With bokoblins this feels as if it should clip through some behaviors they had in the first game.

The first big BOTW trailer took time to focus on what it brought to the table: the world, climbing, jumping, cooking, runes, etc. The second big trailer had story, characters, and the main "dungeons."
This trailer was great but it didn't accomplish any of those things. It's essentially like the 2021 trailer but more fleshed out. It was definitely a good trailer but very different from the BOTW ones, and that ok, for now.

It's interesting how there are plenty of non-spoiler details they could have covered in a trailer but did not...

Adding to the fact that they deliberately call it "Trailer #2" I'm sure there's more to come. Whether they have a dedicated direct by in March or do twitter drops, or a treehouse live, idk. But they only have from now until April to show their cards a little more.

My prediction: Whether it's a new one or not, they will definitely have a trailer to show at the airing of the Mario Movie.

Morning, anyone found a store that has the CE available already?

There's still so much we don't know, it's crazy. Like we have absolutely no idea how the dungeon-y content will be presented in this game. Barely know anything about the sky islands. The structure of the game. We still haven't seen any NPCs. Completely in the dark still.

Very happy about the German voice for Ganondorf. Tilo Schmitz is a great voice actor for badass characters. He voiced Disney's Pete, Kratos in GoW 1-3 and King Leonidas in the 300 movie.

The vehicle building is more extensive than I thought. The glue seems to be a separate item that you can use on all items, not just propulsion items. I wonder how crazy you can get with this

Collecting parts and building vehicles and machines to solve challenges is not the direction I thought they would take this. Sounds so fun.

The Legend of Zelda: Nuts and Bolts

Glue a moblin to a big stone, roll it to the next enemy, glue that one to the stone too, roll to the next enemy, repeat as much as you want.

Tears of the Katamari.

@Serif Looking at the last scene in this trailer, I think they changed specifics of how Zelda falls into that hole and how the arm saves Link. The first trailer seems less relevant, like they might’ve tweaked some scenes, and that seems surprising, but it’s been nearly 4 years between these trailers.
I think all the scenes from the first trailer might all still be relevant, they are just mixed up with the ending scenes from this trailer.
Link sees the ground around Zelda crumbling and she starts to fall:
zelda-breath-of-the-wild-2-is-coming-very-soon.jpg

Link being Link doesn't think twice and immediately jumps out into the abyss to grab Zelda:

Zelda realizing even if Link reaches her, they will fall together and calls out "Please, lend him your power!" The mysterious hand heeds the call and saves Link.

Then I'm guessing all hell breaks loose with more cut-scenes and Gannon and the next time we see Link he is unconscious on the table getting his power attached to him:

The question still remains who does Zelda call out to, when she says "Lend him your power." The more likely choice at this point seems to be Hylia, but I still have some money on it being someone we are not aware of yet and potentially being related to or with the Triforce of Courage.

It'd be crazy if the vehicle building system also worked on smaller objects, allowing you to build custom items.
Spring + chain + bokoblin horn = hookshot

I have no idea how they could possibly pull something like that off. But it would be a megaton if they did. Imagine improvising crazy contraptions to solve puzzles.

Check out this line from the official site: "The adventure is yours to create in a world fueled by your imagination." Nyeah, they're doubling down on systems driven gameplay and crafting, besides bringing back a lot of Zelda staples (as shown by the new enemies). Best of both worlds IMO.
It is also again very noticable how the stone age Link design is absolutely not present in the trailer and especially ground footage even though it is clearly an integral look of Link in the game. I'm thinking the time travel shenanigans that tie into it will be the focus of the next trailer. I don't think we will see much more beyond that until reviews.
I'm still not convinced honestly. It's even the official look of Link, including the vials:

I'm getting strong vibes that this game is so full of stuff that it's a little disjointed. Twilight Princess felt the same way. Maybe that's just the way it's being teased though.

Also possible: these games are dang expensive and the suits wanted Link to wear something more recognisable. Personally I hope I get to mostly play Toga Link because Champion Link is played out as heeeeeeeck.

Just to drive the comparison home
Glad to have been one of the first ones to make the Ancient Cistern reference and see it sticking! xD

Also outside of the reams of new enemy types, that underground biome is making me most excited. I just need new landmasses man - and still hold out hope for something more meaty than abstract, disjointed sky islands above ground.
So do we think this music is the main theme since they used it for a second time?
I think so yeah, they even left in the key change. This time however, the percussion (djembe) seems to be gone which is weird because the rest of the recording is identical (listen to how the brass goes a liiiitle out of tune on some notes).

Like I said back in 2019, the music sounds LUXURIOUS. It's obviously a larger orchestra and mixed even better. Then add the choir in yesterday's trailer and some new, weird, modern textures and we're in for something inspiring yet again.
Yes, the notes are the ending part of BotW's main theme. Makes sense for this game's theme to 'start' with the 'ending' of BotW, while sounding more bombastic.

Lijk, subskrijp, ring du bel.

I need some advice, peeps!!
So I recently moved to a very rural area, the only game shop here is EB games (they sell at full retail price), I can’t price match cause nothing around. I pay full price, I get it on release date

Alternatively, I can buy it online at another store, I’d save around $15/20, but it won’t arrive on release date, probably a few days later / I’d say Tuesday or Wednesday

I’m not someone that’s strapped for money, I don’t struggle, but I do like to save where I can. I want to get the cheaper option and wait but part of me is also like “it’s $20 who cares”. I also don’t think I’d have much time to play it on launch / over launch weekend because of my work and spending time with my partner.

ANYWAY I just want more opinions pls god bless

Just realised that the new "magnesis" kinda power could also be exclusively working on Sky Tech stuff. He uses it to fish a wheel out of the bog and use a sky contraption, and it's got a familiar green glow.

Also talking dragon yes please!

Mark my words, TotK will have new discovery videos years after launch just like BotW.

The amount of possible shenanigans is insane between Hyrule overworld, the sky islands and (if they really teased it) the underground/underworld.

The big emphasis of this game will be customization! The website description says:
„The adventure is yours to create in a world fueled by your imagination“

We already had hints of this in the E3 2021 trailer where we saw a fire dragon head attached to a shield.
2bQN05I_d.webp

The exact same type of attachment can be seen in the newest trailer with the „Zonai“ bomb/canon weapon. It is attached to a stick.
WqdMPKz_d.webp

The same symbol on the back of the canon can be seen on the wheel of the vehicle, which also seems to be a customizable object.

0KlRH6h_d.webp

I wonder if we can put this canon on Links shield and the fire dragon attachment on a stick. And how many other weapon attachments are there? How many weapon types are there on which we can put these attachments… 🤔

The bokoblins also seem to have weapons on their heads. We saw spears, axes, something that looks like the one hit oblitorator, etc. I guess these enemies will drop the weapon parts and we can then craft and customize weapons to our liking!
qnr4Grj_d.webp

This game will challenge the players imagination and introduces even more aspects of freedom - freedom of customization!

Watching the (Japanese) trailer, I love how unhinged Ganondorf sounds. Villains in Zelda never really did it for me, but this Ganondorf really knows how to get things done xD .

Also, there seems to be a nice reversal between BotW and TotK: there, we were "invading" a Hyrule that was taken over. This time we're on the defensive with the larger amount and intensity of monsters: it seems Sauron Ganon is digging for something with his creatures swarming the land and opening up the earth. From what I see here this brings a unique feeling of urgency.
