Plum is attempting a coup by moving the entire month of July up a few days!

Seriously though I'm glad I save the BB Code into a Text Document. I only lost like 10 minutes of progress in the panic instead of, well, all of it.

You know what the real disappointment is about this announcement?

We still haven't had an Indie World this year

EDIT: Ignore me, I'm an idiot 🀣

Hoping for Tactics Ogre Reborn and the FF9 remake to be shown here.
That, Front Mission remasters, new character in Live A Live, and the Pixel Masters would make me very happy.

I know we just saw Silksong and I’m not gonna hold my breath until like next June, but… it would be v neat to get a release date here

wonder if any Twitter drops will spill before whatever September brings

and perhaps a hardware thing, but I’m also not holding my breath on that

We did though? Elechead was in it.

Inb4 the second n64 NSO roadmap is in the partner direct because it’s all third party games
(I’d be cool with that actually, means they got some of the awesome ones)

On non-Direct related stuff, I’ve been replaying the original FFVII and it’s such a silly game. I love the mix of serious and ridiculous stuff in old FFs.

Treasure did say they were working on β€œthat one game” people want and I suggested Mischief Makers. Still on track for this!

* wakes up *
Wait why is the Speculation thread locked?
* scroll scroll scroll *
...oh
...OH

Sure, give me more third party games. I know I wanted it to be early so I can get my hearing aids after seeing it but 9am lol

Hell yes I understand how Slay the Spire works. Got to the top and saw the credits roll on my second run. Excited to give the third playable character a go. Oh my god I’m going to get so addicted to this game.

If nothing pops out to me in the Direct, I’m getting Monster Hunter: Rise. Consider this a promise.

Quoting bc this was too cool not to share

I went to my City's pride parade over the weekend and it was cool to see local developers from a company that handles many a Switch port marching!

I bought an eShop card for Sunbreak, but if Tactics Ogre is shadow-dropped my money is going straight to that.

If you're having a hard time going through Monday, maybe try doing it the Swery way

Grubb just said in his stream that we might even get a first party Mini Direct in July
This would have to be due to new hardware, right? Like, they want to announce the new Switch in July, then show off 1st party titles on it, like probably Prime 1 and some others? Otherwise, I have no idea why they'd split the two Directs into two different presentations only a month or less apart.

The justification they gave on the stream was that it is better to have to good Minis than one mediocre General, but I agree that the new hardware might be a good reason

I wouldn’t expect Nintendo to do their own mini after a partner mini just a few weeks later. Like why split them up into two minis.

I think the simpler explanation is more likely; Nintendo isnt showing off anything because they’ve got nothing to show.

We are likely just getting Xenoblade, Splatoon and PokΓ©mon for the rest of the year, with maybe a date for Advance Wars being dropped in a tweet at some point.

New hardware isn’t coming this year. So I wouldn’t expect to see it this year either.

I'm actually beginning to wonder if the main sticking point is BOTW2. They know that people want more BOTW2, but they don't want to show it until September-ish. So rather than deal with all the hassle they'd get for doing a General Direct and not having BOTW2 in it, or having to do another Aonuma apology/explanation and get more bad PR for that, they're just splitting things up and doing them as minis to avoid the expectation. Like you said, if there was a General Direct now without BOTW2 people might see it as mediocre.

At least that makes some sense to me, on some level. I'm probably just inventing things and Nintendo is just being weird, though.

It definitely feels weird but it's going to be near impossible for us to understand Nintendo's reasoning without knowing for sure what they got planned over the next few months.

July - Xenoblade 3
August - Everybody 1-2 Switch
September - Splatoon 3
October - Mario & Rabbids 2
November - Pokemon Scarlet
December - Metroid Prime 1 Remaster
January - Bayonetta 3
Feb - ????
March - Fire Emblem Red & Blue
April - Metroid Prime 2 & 3
May/June - BoTW2

This is kinda how I see Nintendo's lineup playing out moving forward. Am I missing anything that is actually known to be in the works?

Also, read this. Interesting stuff

Edit: I added a spoiler on this and will put a disclaimer only because it mentions porn games. It’s not about that but a heist and recovery story. Don’t think it’s NSFW, but I don’t know if people have some sort of thing that might search for words or whatever.

30 seconds into the Xenoblade 3 section of the Digital Foundry video

"I was starting to wonder if it was running on a Switch"

I scheduled a therapy session right after the Partner, and thought to myself 1 week ago "what an idiot I am, the Direct is that day", but now I'm not cancelling it.

Will still watch the Partner with y'all, but have to run afterwards.

It's not Subway, but I plan on watching the Direct tomorrow during lunch while eating either a burrito or a torta from the local taqueria. Gonna be a good day.

Partner showcase, no Nintendo general direct on June? We going all the way up to September?

I wish people would just suggesting that having a Partner Direct is like 2020. The situations aren't even remotely the same, both with what is happening in the real world and with the games coming out this year. We're still looking at a very good year for Switch games with just what has released and what has been announced.

At least you have a place to come to terms with the lack of Style Savvy :p
