I'm juggling like 4 games right nowMe: "I'm gonna use my break from work to finally finish Zelda and Pikmin 4!"
Also me: "It's time to get back into Splatoon and play Picross!"
Kinda funny to read as someone who strongly prefers TOTK and P5 to their predecessors, but I get it. Sometimes more isn't always more.To a certain extent, I'm frustrated and almost sad that I can't really immerse myself in TotK. The game actually leaves me cold for the most part. Which is a shame, because it's objectively a really good game (duh), but the mix of my expectations and what the developers have delivered in terms of game design just doesn't really come together well.
If I have to force myself to play a game instead of thirsting to continue playing it, then that's a bad sign.
Nevertheless, I can now recognize a relatively clear trend for me based on this and other titles from the last few years: I'm not a fan of playing iterative sequels or I apparently need more variety. For me, TotK ultimately suffers from something similar to Metroid Dread, SMT V, FEW Three Hopes, FE Engage and Persona 5, just to name a few prominent examples. I absolutely loved the respective predecessors, but the (quasi) sequels just didn't and still don’t appeal to me in the same way.
It's a bit strange and a shame, but I can't force myself to feel any differently.
Oh, I can totally understand if it’s the other way around for others.Kinda funny to read as someone who strongly prefers TOTK and P5 to their predecessors, but I get it. Sometimes more isn't always more.
I think my example of this is I prefer Sonic 2 and 3K to Sonic Mania and feel Mania trades too much in nostalgic imagery rather than establishing its own identity (even if it's still an excellent game), but I don't know how actionable that take is lolOh, I can totally understand if it’s the other way around for others.
In the end, it always depends on how much of an impression / what kind of impression the respective predecessors have left on you. To give another example: I like Hyrule Warriors AoC much better than Hyrule Warriors (1). So, in that case it was the other way around for me, I think the sequel is much better. But I also don't necessarily need a new Hyrule Warriors soon, I'd rather have something fresh and new (Xenoblade Warriors, pleaseeeee!!).
And I’m certain there are a lot of folks that liked both the respective predecessor and successor titles well enough; but I’m, evidently, not one of them in many / most cases.
Hey Fami, I have a question for y’all. My father suffered a stroke last summer and nowadays he is in wheelchair and his entire left arm is paralysed. He’s very restless most of the time and he’s a huge sports fan. Especially golf. He says that he misses playing golf a lot.
So we were taking about eventually starting to play Nintendo Switch Sports with him. So I’m asking, how good is the game in terms of accessibility or availability to someone who’s only able to play with one arm? How are the various games in that regard? (and more specifically the golf?)
Oh, hey, that's fantastic! I'm glad it went well.Follow-up.
Yesterday was a success! My father loved playing the golf mode. We ended up playing for two hours, first he played by himself and then we played two of us. He’s even going to borrow my Switch to play more.
It was really a bit of a test for the game and how accessible it is. He had a bit of trouble at first, the right arm still has pretty slow motorics so it took him a while to get used to gripping the R2 button at the same time as he was supposed to swing. Pointing down and pushing Y to ready the swing was also a bit of a struggle at first. The swing itself was no problem - it looked like he was right at home with it, and managed to clear many courses, even had a birdie on one.
Very happy with how it all turned out.
Gotta make some space for the next string of gacha games, you know? Those things are like hydras.Square Enix Will Shut Down Engage Kill in March 2024
Engage Kill, the mobile game in Aniplex's Project Engage, will no longer exist after Square Enix shuts it down in March 2024.www.siliconera.com
That’s like 3 closure announcements in the span of like two weeks right?
You may also wanna consider easy come easy golf, quite Arcady and has some odd structural stuff but is supposed to be pretty funFollow-up.

This. And maybe Neo Turf Masters, a Neo Geo classic which really let you golf at your own pace. You may also wanna consider easy come easy golf, quite Arcady and has some odd structural stuff but is supposed to be pretty fun
Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Haven't played it in years but can still remember the music.Rainbow Islands is coming to the Switch via Arcade Archives and that makes me VERY HAPPY.
Still can't believe how many secrets this game have (including secret worlds) and how good the Amstrad CPC version is (and tried to get as much as the arcade content as possible).
Do you feel the preservatives actively embalming your internal organs?I just had breakfast roll ups that expired almost 2 years ago ama me amathing
yes but I think that’s because of my diet in general. Last time i ate something fresh was around the time someone threw a shoe at George BushDo you feel the preservatives actively embalming your internal organs?
So that shit was real?? It wasn't like a staged thing for reality tv or like an episode of Ted Lasso or something??A guy I work with is a diehard NC State fan. Text him that I was sorry his team didn’t get to eat the giant poptart man.
This video really hits home
oh sure, "someone," you say.Last time i ate something fresh was around the time someone threw a shoe at George Bush

Eat the Ritz. Not quite what I had in mind with "Eat the rich"
Tbf I think more people could get behind that concept if more rich people were made of cheeseNot quite what I had in mind with "Eat the rich"
ExcellentEat the Ritz.
I’ve always joked that football is this country’s official religion and this is… checks notes… totally something a cult would doA guy I work with is a diehard NC State fan. Text him that I was sorry his team didn’t get to eat the giant poptart man.
before buying something else, i think i will try metroid prime again. it's not a very long game anyway, right?Honestly? Either pick Metroid Prime back up or buy something new. I assume you've played the games in All-Stars and Ni No Kuni is meh outside the Ghibli trappings.
Supposedly. I’ve never played it. But I’ve heard it’s good!before buying something else, i think i will try metroid prime again. it's not a very long game anyway, right?
What did the giant poptart man ever doA guy I work with is a diehard NC State fan. Text him that I was sorry his team didn’t get to eat the giant poptart man.
MarvelousEat the Ritz.
I think cinnamon brown sugar is better straight out of the package but any of the fruity ones need to be toasted.I'm just glad the giant Pop-Tart Man demonstrated that the best and only way to eat a Pop-Tart (besides not at all, because christ is that a heck of a thing to do your body) is to put it in the toaster. Nobody ate the Pop-Tart Man raw!
Typical Seahawk fan mentality smdhI think cinnamon brown sugar is better straight out of the package but any of the fruity ones need to be toasted.
Haven't seen it yet but I just saw a behind-the-scenes for it on youtube that made me open Netflix and add it to my list, if that's any help.I’m thinking of resubbing to Netflix for Pokemon Concierge. Has anyone seen it? Is it good?
I agree Pirates Curse is a toooough one to top. I appreciate all the Shantaes but PC is peak.Finished Shantae and the Seven Sirens. I give it a 7/10. The fundamentals are there. It looks great. Plays great. The world and characters are as vibrant as previous games. But the level design, particularly towards the end, and the dickish enemy placement just drag it down. This game was first released on Apple Arcade in two parts and I have to wonder if this setup hurt the final half of the game. The second to last dungeon is just a timed enemy gauntlet and the final dungeon is just a linear path with a bunch of spike traps and enemy spam in your way. At the end, you're really just spamming magic attacks and chugging down potions. That's the optimal way to play.
Pirate's Curse remains the top game in the series. I say it's a top tier Castlevania game. The pacing and the abilities all come together so well. None of the other Shantae games have come close to matching it. I didn't like Half-Genie Hero at all. Seven Sirens has all the ingredients to put it up there with Pirate's Curse. It just doesn't all come together as well it could have been in the end. Still a good game though and I'd recommend picking it up whenever it's on sale (which is it right now).
I've seen the first episode, so its a limited observation. It has a fantastic vibe with an style that lends itself to the series. It has an interesting cast and a decent selection of pokemon that are well known and some hidden gems.I’m thinking of resubbing to Netflix for Pokemon Concierge. Has anyone seen it? Is it good?
It's an excellent port. If you don't have a Series X or Xbox One X, it's probably the best way to play the game. How is Readdead Redemtion on switch? Thinking about getting it after I finish with Arkham Collection.
