It's not like they don't do this, it's just sparingly. Super Mario Bros. 3 and Ocarina of Time have already had full graphical remakes that were kind of a big deal. Link's Awakening is an obvious recent example. Graphics aside pretty much anytime something 5+ years old gets a port it gets notable new content.I think there is easy money for Nintendo in remaking games from their catalog, could be almost any game dating back to Nes. They are sitting on a cash cow. Remake the graphics and improvement to gameplay and even few extra levels if they wanted. Like imagine a remake of Mario bros 3 or Super Mario world? Zelda link to the past, donkey Kong country, Mario 64 , ocarina of time etc … you get he picture. They would sell based on nostalgia alone and for newcomers who have never experienced those games before.
Saleswise I'm not sure any of the full remakes besides Link's Awakening have sold nearly as well as their originals?
