generally a first reply like that kills the thread, and I sort of had second thoughts about the joking confidence of the OP. I also thought it would be pretty funny if it went OP -> "fuck pikmin" -> "the thread has been closed" but unfortunately @Legion of Primes snuck in at the last second lol
The confident tone of the OP is exactly what I want out of Raccoon threads, twas good stuffs.

Also I am now a Beef Stroganoff stan

Walked in to a MediaMarkt today

Switch OLED
Series s
Series x
Ps5 disc
Ps5 digital

All in stock, first time i have seen it, i fully expect PS5 to stay in stock here in Sweden from now on, the price of that thing is absurd. Fifa Bundle cost about 170$ more than a series X and almost twice as much as an OLED.

Petition to re-open Raccoon's thread

Also maybe we could, you know, not post shitty one-liners in response to someone writing about something they like
If the thread were re-opened all I'd really have to contribute is a shitty one-liner

But my shitty one-liner would be "I am now a Beef Stroganoff stan."

As a huge Pikmin fan it sucks that I was not able to participate in Raccoon thread, it was very well done.

I brought it upon myself

when you make your liking of something into a joke people will joke about it

You're allowed to make self-deprecating jokes about your interests, they're your interests. Doesn't make it less rude for other people to do it

EDIT: Not to say others can't joke about it, but a pithy "Nah fuck this topic" can kill a thread (and quite literally did in this case)

I redownloaded Pikmin Bloom, only played a mini bit when it first came out (I have 6 Pikmin and forgot how the game works). I gave it all permissions this time tho (help) and I'm down to try it again. If anybody wants to be friends on it feel free to tell me your code or whatever

I think we should all revisit Miyamoto talking about Bloom in the Direct, as Raccoon said:

"I contend that when Shigeru Miyamoto speaks, we should all sit our gaijin asses down and listen."

And I think he is 100% right, look I somewhat disliked that segment too but it was probably mainly since it's actual mobile stuff that was presented in the Direct, the thing is that you can tell Miyamoto is doing it because he likes it, it's not some PR line or anything, I think it was his idea, he just wanted more people to try Bloom, and to be honest I would like rather spend a few minutes of Miyamoto talking about anything rather than a another sizzle reel of games that already exists. I know some people disliked it mainly because the sense of trolling it gived before Pikmin 4 reveal. but still you could tell that Miyamoto was talking so enthusiastically about it that I could listen to it again and again, same way when Iwata was talking about anything. And in the end I think that the Bloom segment which led to reveal of Pikmin 4 was so fitting mainly because it's 7 years "almost completed" we have been waiting till the absolute last second and it was worth it.

What are y'all playing lately? I keep trying to finish Xenoblade but my enthusiasm comes and goes in bursts

I started Tunic yesterday and hated it lmao
Mostly Binding of Isaac. I finished Cuphead recently though and my next game will be finishing my Dragon Quest IX savefile from 2010!! The game that started my love for Dragon Quest (that was interrupted until 2016 when Builders came out) and I think my first JRPG other than Pokémon? Maybe I played Bowsers Inside Story before it.
I actually realized that I played DQIX with only my hero character for most of the game when I loaded up my save again lmao No wonder I got stuck...

Danganronpa V3 on Game Pass. I'm waiting for the first highschooler to get brutally murdered while I spend the days chatting with them.

Or just not post shitty stuff in response to a positive post at all. If I post something about a thing I like or a thing I'm excited about, the last thing I want to see is someone hating on the shit I like. It's a total buzzkill. Maybe that makes me sensitive but whatever.

nah I disagree with this

it's a funny first response that just happened to make me realize my thread was stupid. asking the thread be closed was just my attempt at playing along

I am also sad I missed the Pikmin Bloom thread. I would've been in there to discuss it!! I still play it all the time.

I'm playing both lots of Splatoon 3 and a good chunk of Pac-Man World Re-Pac. Splatoon good, don't have much to add there. Re-Pac is interesting and I'm digging it, but I got a few gripes about the design - some to do with the design of the game in general, and some as a remake, but also quite a few positive notes as well. I'm about halfway through so I'll post updates if anyone is interested.

I promise you that I'm not beaten up about it. I just thought that the best thing I could do for the joke was let it rest before people started actually arguing about the value of Pikmin

It was a good thread, but ultimately it goes back to the question we had a while back of; why are people posting good threads under the garbage galaxy tag?
I very much wanted to communicate that the tone was a joke, even if my Miyamoto worship and 333 Pikmin are not

Don't post something passionate under the Garbage Galaxy tag. It invites garbage responses

Speaking from my own perspective, when I use or see "Garbage Galaxy," I see a thread that has somewhat of a farcical or comedic intent. Regardless of quality, there's a joke or exaggeration there. For example, I made a Super Mario 64 anniverary tribute thread that had an earnest OP...but I labelled it "Garbage Galaxy" because I gave it a misleading title to make it sound like I was going to talk about Sonic instead. It's a bait and switch, the joke being that Sonic 1 and Mario 64 have the same birthday, Sonic has the more well-known anniversary date, and I was doing the Sonic Origins thread, which I also plugged at the end of the OP. Didn't seem like most people got the joke, though!

I'm considering doing a sequel thread next year, but it'll be a bait and switch with Sonic Adventure 2 and Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 instead. But no promises.

I'm sorry if Raccoon felt offended by "I wanna step on Pikmin", but that's such a inoffensive joke like you'd find in any thread tagged Garbage Galaxy on this forum and the request for a closure was probably an emotional over-reaction.

"i see blue people"

considering that one a warm-up round
ominous

I love it, bring it on 🤘

no hard feelings here. I just realized the thread wasn't a good idea and decided to try and extend the bit

Pikmin Bloom is good. It totally replaced Pokémon GO for me and I’ve generally had a much better (and more chill) experience with it. It actually works as a walking app all around, unlike Pokémon GO.

Also, it has Miis.

Turned in the latest and greatest draft of my script last night at 4:40am ET. Stoked for our producers and actress to read it and hopefully move the needle for a director!
Leaked footage from the hidden camera in Dragoncaine's room at 4:39am ET before turning in said script

Congrats and keeping fingers crossed for you!

Are the Clubs allowed to engage in street fights with each other because as a member of The Legend of Zelda Club, I want to roll up and show those chumps in the Splatoon Club whose boss

I knew all those hours in Turf wars wouldn’t go to waste.

Splatoon club will splat you back to Hyrule!

I should give Pikmin Bloom a spin since I've been walking a lot these days, but with Dragalia Lost ending next month my enthusiasm for mobile gaming has fallen like a stone. Once Dragalia ends the only mobile game I'll have on my phone will be Fire Emblem Heroes which I only login to collect the daily orbs.
I'd love if a publisher (please Nippon Ichi or Atlus read this lol!) would re-release some Sting classics like the whole Dept. Heaven-series (and finally make the other media in the series available too) and games like Hexyz Force. Especially Hexyz Force, which would be so great on Switch. It's not the most sophisticated RPG but so addicitive!
Yes, someone bring over the Switch ports of the Dept Heaven games.
That Potion Permit gaming has been climbing up the eShop best sellers list. That Disney game has been comfortably sitting at number 2 on the list. Don't really see much discussion about either on here or other places. Kind of really shows how even hardcore Nintendo fans only make up a percentage of the total Switch userbase. I know a lot of people said there were too many farming sims in that last Direct but those are obviously very popular on the system. My sister basically only plays life and farming sims on her Switch.
Lol, my sister's the same; the only genres she's interested in are life sims, visual novels/adventure games, and fighting games.

This was me but with Miitomo. I absolutely adored Miitomo and used it all the time (and put a fair amount of money into it, too), and when it was announced to be shutting down…it just kind of broke me. My interest in mobile games, which was already pretty low, basically disappeared overnight. What’s even the point of investing time (and sometimes money) into these games when they’re all just going to be shut down some day anyway? I still played Pokémon GO for awhile after that until it just started to become too overwhelming for me, but Pikmin Bloom has fortunately been a much nicer experience, and since it’s largely hands-off I don’t really feel like I’m wasting my time with it, ‘cause I mostly just use it as motivation to walk more. But I will be bummed when it inevitably shuts down like all the others…

I've played Tunic for a few hours and though the game is definitely pretty and charming, i definitely don't like its vagueness. I'm already counting down the days until Nier comes out.

I really hope Tunic is for me because the artstyle is so cute, but right now Bear & Breakfast, Paper Mario on NSO, and I'm hoping to pick up Tinykin in the near future after that delightful demo

...but I also know I should clear out some backlog and no time like the present for spoopy games like Outlast 🙃

I don't know whether the vagueness would frustrate me. I really liked the "unlock the instruction manual" mechanic, I think that's a really cool concept. For me the issue is twofold: the Dark Souls bonfires (I'm begging you to stop putting these in every action-adventure game) and the sluggishness of the combat. The latter in particular just makes it completely unfun for me

Yeah. For a game that was inspired by Zelda (especially Link's Awakening), its combat seemed very slow and underwhelming
