six months later they released a switch gameRetro in 2017: Just six more years of patience pretty please
It's more that it's just fun to casually joke about. I'm not actually worried. I'll wait as long as it takes, and the time it's spent in development since the reboot seems in line with other AAA games.Surprised fami is Surprised that AAA game development takes a very long time
i did see a few people here getting shocked but yeah, a lot of people seem to think they still are on the n64 or gc era.No one is surprised except Nintentubers who thought Retro would be able to crank this out in just a few years.
giving up on 2023 already? hope you like your new avatar thenNo one is surprised except Nintentubers who thought Retro would be able to crank this out in just a few years.

You re going to look great in a shiba inu pfpNo, I think it's coming this holiday.
I thought @SpaceGodzilla's thread said it'd be a baby Metroid avatar, unless there was another bet I missed or am forgetting. You re going to look great in a shiba inu pfp
yup a baby metroidI thought @SpaceGodzilla's thread said it'd be a baby Metroid avatar, unless there was another bet I missed or am forgetting.
For me, the silver lining to the long wait for Metroid Prime 4 has always been just knowing we're eventually getting it. It's that simple. Imagine how much worse it'd be if we figured we were just never gonna see another Metroid Prime game, or even another 3D Metroid game at all. We'd probably still be operating under the assumption that Other M and Federation Force poisoned the well enough to make Nintendo believe 3D Metroid just wasn't worth the time, effort, monetary investment, and potential fan backlash. The only thing that would've reignited our hopes is Prime Remastered, which is still a super recent thing (and even then, the idea of its existence at all was a running joke for several years).
Bottom line: waiting on something you know is eventually coming is a hell of a lot easier to work with than total uncertainty. Trust the process.
Yeah, I feel the same way. If it was planned as a holiday 2024 game, I believe Nintendo would've released MPR this holiday. Shadowdropping and getting it out of the way in February to me means it's still this FY.I feel like the Metroid Prime Remastered shadowdrop wouldn't have happened if Retro wasn't super confident about Prime 4 releasing soon. If we were still a ways out, Remastered probably would have been announced in February and given a summer release date or something.
I simply have to ignore this or I’ll spiral. For those that believed the rumor about MP4 being complete, this post is definitive proof that it is not. The art director posted today that they are still looking for talent to build MP4. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jhon...for-talent-activity-7059758091432509440-HsHc/
I for one am shocked.
that was based on gut feeling, not from actual info he has heard. he made it pretty clear when he's talking about stuff he has heard about and what is his opinionsWe’ve already heard from Nate he’s expecting Metroid Prime 4 releasing by the end of the FY (March 2024) the latest.
We’ll see it this summer. Then we’ll see it later in the year and one more time early 2024 if it’s coming out in March.
I wouldn't get too worried, it's pretty standard to hire throughout production and I have a feeling this won't be one of those games that Ninty sits on for an ageI simply have to ignore this or I’ll spiral.
I need this to be revealed this year
With that said I am also the opinion of seeing prime 4 again before the end of the yearthat was based on gut feeling, not from actual info he has heard. he made it pretty clear when he's talking about stuff he has heard about and what is his opinions
2025. No way this will come out on base switch only, if at all.For those that believed the rumor about MP4 being complete, this post is definitive proof that it is not. Doesn't mean they are lying. Things change, it happens more than you think. It's coming out for Switch unless Retro is straight up lying on their website.
I simply have to ignore this or I’ll spiral.

it was said "no way its coming only for the switch" not JUST for the switch lolIt's coming out for Switch unless Retro is straight up lying on their website.

This feels like a major troll post, lol
It's... obviously intriguing to look at his resume, but I don't know if we can infer anything from his resume.
It would be such a massive departure that it seems very unlikely.
(This guy has only worked on MMOs outside of his time with Unity)
What, are we supposed to be concerned that he worked for "Bugthesda" or something? Obviously he'll have craploads of fantastic engineers working under him. IMO it's good that they didn't take too long to find a replacement for Tim Little.
I feel like posting this specific person is just trying to be a little cheeky as his entire experience is
1. MMOs
2. Unity
Which could lead to the implication that Prime 4 could have MMO elements which I find very unlikely.

I don't see how the person's account is supposed to hint at anything bad. he has a lot of experience and we should know that previous games don't inform their current work. did we forget the "Naughty Dog artist working on DK is a dream come true" stuff already?
