Iron Man 1 set a high bar for sure, but imo Winter Soldier surpassed it. It managed to be a well-laid-out action thriller with fantastic stunts that wasn't really beholden to any other movies, even though it was a sequel and was part of a crossover-heavy franchise. As far as standalones go, I think it's one of the MCU's best, if not the best full stop.Just airing some general opinions:
Anyone else think that the first Ironman is still the best (standalone hero) film in the MCU? I think a few other movies have come close, but the "fuck yeah!" moments of IM1 still stick in my mind. I feel like these days, I watch each successive MCU film with the thought, "Will this one be as good as IM1?" Even though I've only watched the movie 2-3 times, the moment where Tony fucks up all the terrorists holding the hostages with his mini rockets and the scene where he punches through the wall and gives the leader to be dealt with by the people is so perfect.
Yeah I've seen that sentiment. I just think IM1 is cooler because I inherently I like Tony/IM as a character more than Cap.Iron Man 1 set a high bar for sure, but imo Winter Soldier surpassed it. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though, as I love Age of Ultron and genuinely don't get all the fuss over the Guardians. So it's possible my taste is garbage, I dunno
The more time that passes, yeah.Just airing some general opinions:

Not in full.
But it's safe to assume it's Shuri.
boo, I was hoping it would be Nakia.
I dunno, I just feel weird about Shuri now because of the drama surrounding Letitia Wright and the anti-vax crap. I know she wrote this whole thing about how "I was just asking questions about what we're putting in our bodies" but that video she shared also had the typical redhat cocktail of sinophobia, climate change denial, and transphobia so like.. best case scenario was she didn't know what she was sharing, which is still bad enough when you consider she dug her heels in and defended it after the fact.
And then there's the reports from the set that she continued pushing anti-vax crap once filming resumed (which she said was a lie, but of course anyone would). So it's like, here's this absolute genius young scientist being played by a literal science denier.
Damn, RDJ and Chris Evans spoiled the shit outta me.
Guess I gotta do like I do with Tom Cruise and try real hard to separate the beliefs of the actor from the overall work they do.
Anyway fuck yeah Atlanteans
I laregely agree with what you’re saying. Love and Thunder isn’t a great Marvel movie by any means, but it certainly isn’t the worst. Personally, I think the humor in Thor movies is wearing a bit thin. There weren’t a ton of jokes that landed for me. But I did really appreciate Gor’s story, and would have loved to see his character fleshed out more. The end of his story in particular hit me really hard, it actually made me cry. Which no other MCU movie has been able to do!Just watched Thor: Love and Thunder. While some bits felt a bit mismatched (I thought both Gor and Jane’s own stories didn’t quite get enough room to breathe, even though Gor’s origin scene was cool), I still really enjoyed it. The bit withthe kids being empowered temporarily by Thor, and particularly the one mowing down shadow monsters with a laser beam from a teddy bear had a ton of heart
I don’t know, not the best of them, but far from the worst, and the lighthearted, irreverent space adventure tone is still a good fit for both such a powerful character and also Hemsworth whose comic timing is just endlessly watchable. Tessa Thompson was great too. I’m kinda done with Korg though.
I have a feeling that, while Shuri will be Black Panther starting in the second third of the film probably, Shuri, Nakia, Okoye and M'baku will all wear a Black Panther suit for the climax. Feel like this would be a good homage to Chadwick, having them all wearing his legacy. And I've read that Danai Gurira has said that she hasn't read anyone online "guess the whole of it" when it comes to who is Black Panther in the film lol, so I'm fully behind this theory.boo, I was hoping it would be Nakia.

I didn't know it was gonna happen and I lol'edAny opportunity to see Matt Murdoch in the MCU is a blessing.
I liked the episode. Loved seeing DD again. Did not love how they teased an epic hallway fight (obvious callback to Netflix DD season one’s legendary hallway fight), only to spoil it when Jen came crashing through the ceiling. I knew it was gonna happen and I still groaned out loud.
I expected it because this isn’t a DD show, it’s She-Hulk, and they can’t have DD outshine the main character in her own show.I didn't know it was gonna happen and I lol'ed
Plus since we know Murdoch's getting his own MCU series, they'll save the big one-shot fight scenes for that, no doubt.
Yeah that makes sense.I expected it because this isn’t a DD show, it’s She-Hulk, and they can’t have DD outshine the main character in her own show.
