Looking at the Pikmin 4 reviews ... Nintendo's kinda on a roll this year, ain't it so?

And they still have Mario RPG and the Mario Bros. Wonder coming up. First one's a well-known classic, so nothing to "fear" here, and i just don't see Wonder reviewing badly in any way.

Quite the difference to previous systems "last year".

Wow, more PW4 DLC, I was kinda expecting they'd announce PW5. Still I'll take it, 4 has some of the best combos and air combos in musou games

One Brazilian reviewer claims that Pikmin 4 is a daring evolution that elevates the franchise to the same level as Mario and Zelda.

Nintendo top people drinking party:

Monolithsoft-Takahashi: "You know, we casually released another banger DLC as the grand final of our Xenoblade series! No sweat."

Fujibayashi and Aonuma: "That's cute. Remember how we released one of the best games ever? Don't mind us releasing yet another best game ever, topping the previous one."

Takahashi and Koizumi: "Yeah yeah, do your bragging. It's not like we're about to release an absolute double-whammy of Mario games with the RPG remake and Wonder."

Then suddenly, the door opens ... silence ... a tea table is being upended outside ... MIYAMOTO walks in

Miyamoto: "Hello kids, have a nice high school club meeting? I'm here to show you Pikmin 4 ... btw. i did that while i was busy open up theme parks and producing one of the best grossing animated movie ever. Jealous? Yeah, you are."

I don't want to put too much weight in review scores, but I do think it's funny that Eurogamer re-introduced them starting with TOTK, didn't give that game 5 stars, and then proceeded to give Pikmin 4 their first 5 star rating under the new system lol

Pikmin 4 coming in STRONG!! Can't wait.
If someone had told me a Pikmin game would be the first to snag a 5 star under Eurogamer’s new system I would’ve called them a liar or crazy

Get out of my head!

Pikmin 4 GOTY confirmed !!

I'm a Pikmin guy now. I'm all in. I love Pikmin now

What's the translation here? Twitter is "unable to fetch a translation" aka purposefully useless and broken.

Not gonna lie, I'm intrigued by those two images together lol.

◎ 26 years ago today On July 19, 1997, "Neon Genesis Evangelion Theatrical Version Air / Sincerity, You" was released. It was screened at the same time as "Princess Mononoke", and at that time, it was fueled by a master-student confrontation between director Hayao Miyazaki and director Anno. The slogan is also a contrast between "live" and "that's why everyone should die...".

Quick heads-up since the topic was discussed here in the past a few times: The Witcher 3 on Switch finally got the content from the 4.0 update, plus a couple more things:

That's awesome, I genuinely thought we weren't getting that. We finally get cross saves.

It's not often I get a "new" game series in my life, so this is definitely special.

Do you like Pikmin?
Hmm, I think it's not for me. I didn't play much of 3 Deluxe and didn't get that far in the 4 Demo. I've bought enough games that I ended up barely playing that I'm going to hold off for now, I think.

I have stepped on Canadian soil AMA
I mean, depending on where you are in Canada, I think we have at least 4 Fami members within reasonable vicinity of one another 👀

What spurred the trip and what's major on the itinerary? If you're in Toronto I know a handful of vegan/vegetarian restaurants that are pretty dope you might be interested in checking out! Also barcades; I know they're a dime a dozen around the world but I still have my favourites with Zed*80 and Tilt Arcade (RIP, but one day to return this summer)

LOL busted. I think I just had this thought while playing Pikmin 1 this morning - I realized I can't get enough of it
Welcome to the party 😋 It is the definition of a cozy game series. I've been a little sloppy in my current playthrough but honestly I just love the first game so much. It's a tech demo in so many ways but polished to a degree you really can't knock it.

Liked Tweets

For example, before the last Direct dude started liking Mario RPG tweets and stuff like that

Now there are likes for Pokémon, Minecraft and such...
I'll be honest, I was looking them up worried it was gonna be some casually phobic shit 😅 I'm glad it wasn't the case but it definitely needs to specified ahead of time lmao

Truthfully though I don't think so; unless they're specifically going back to unlike tweets, I can only see liked tweets from one single IGN account the entirety of May 2022, and then some stuff in the past couple days. I don't know if I missed the tweets he liked ahead of the June Direct, but I think if there's anything worth rumormongering, it's tweeted rather than liked with a knowing smile.

Unless he has some inside info on Stardew Valley but then like...why would Eric Barone leak his own game update? 😋

Oh shit I missed this post, that's fantastic news!

I still won't be able to start Witcher just yet, but I'll update the game now regardless

My issue was it streamlined things too much without giving a flexible enough mode to make up for the content loss. Didn’t grab the previous characters probably won’t grab these as I’ve moved on. But hey it’s not taking away from another warrior’s games development so I’m thankful for that. (Bring back Gundam warriors)

Woo, Strangers of Paradise was on the PSN sale. Still going through Dark Souls 2 but I can't wait to kill Chaos!

Yo my lovely Fami weird weeb friends

Jack Jeanne has a handful of reviews on Switch indicating it's top tier, and the physical edition is currently discounted in Europe. I'm not a particular visual novel aficionado, but this one sounds so interesting and highly regarded I might give it a go.

Anybody weigh in?

Remember the TOTK ad of 'sad man on bus finds joy in playing Zelda'?
As I was commuting home on my local train, I saw just that. A middle-aged man with white hair playing Zelda. I hope he found joy.

It could have been BOTW instead of TOTK though. A little hard to tell from where I stood.

Pikmin is still such a unique and fresh franchise despite being 20+ years old at this point. So glad it exists.

Hm hm hm, Lies of P's demo does scratch my Bloodborne itch quite well, to my honest surprise. Runs super well on my PC, too, so that's a veeery nice bonus. Wishlisted it already, hope the full release is just as good!

Enjoyed the demo too. I’ve never played Bloodborne but the feel I got from Lies of P was Souls combat, but more aggressive? Something like that.
Yeah, that's basically what Bloodborne was as well. No shields, a gun to 'parry' / riposte enemies, health regen for getting hits in within a short time frame after you were hit; the biggest difference between LoP and BB is the evasion, where the latter had a quick step, the former has you do the typical roll. Which, as far as I can say based on the demo gameplay, doesn't make that much of a difference in the end.

LoP certainly has come the closest to BB for me out of all the others I've tried / watched footage of (and always ended up dropping / skipping). I can totally see this one make for a great substitute on PC, though. (Until BB proper finally arrives. >:] I continue to have hope, y'all!)

I haven’t played the demo yet but if Lies of P gets at least decent reviews I’m definitely interested. I’m a little iffy on the setting (not a huge fan of ‘clockwork carnival’ type stuff) but the game has a lot of potential.

Oh yeah, I'll be waiting for impressions, too, and hopefully at least solid ones at that. If it lands anywhere in the typical "it's good, but not as good as its source of inspiration" = 7/8 out of 10 review range, then I'm most likely picking it up. (So long as no other glaring issues appear unexpectedly...)

That’s definitely more to my tastes than, say, Dark Souls 3, where I felt I was waiting for ages for those small windows of opportunity to pop up. And I’m digging the interpretation of Pinocchio too. Plus the game just looks great, runs smooth as butter even on my laptop. Cautiously optimistic for it.

I finished Breaking Bad a while ago. And jumped onto Better Call Saul now.

A character name Lalo popped up and it’s pretty refreshing hearing someone able to speak Spanish natively or as good as a native lol. Some of the characters who first language is suppose to be Spanish sounds off to me as it’s my native language. It’s just a nitpick and I’m not thinking anything less of the show or actors. Just I can notice it so easily lol

Shows pretty good too. I share a name with a character on the show too lol.
