I mean Doki Doki Panic got its elements and enemies put into Mario mainline games all because of luck (SMB2 was too hard), so why not actually incorporate the wild and wacky themes from the Land games? I mean they already called 3D Land a "Land" game because of the handheld lineage.

AND THE SWITCH IS A HYBRID SYSTEM SO WHAT BETTER WAY FOR 2D MARIO GOING FORWARD THAN TO MERGE:

- SUPER MARIO BROS.

and

- SUPER MARIO LAND

It's perfect!
 
What if the new Mario game is a remake of Mario Land 1, which is why it's MIA on NSO?

I haven't been online much since totk released so I was completely out of the loop and was not expecting this. Very strange feeling compared to all the past directs were I was theorizing and anticipating for weeks on end. Nice to be so relaxed about it. I will most likely not be able to watch it live tomorrow, but very excited to see what they have in store. I have zero expectations besides Pikman since they specifically call it out in the tweet lol

Not sure why MVG asked if Nintendo could do a “here’s Metroid Prime 2” and basically call it good there without showing Prime 4 until September.

Nope we’re past that shit. You already did this before and you just shadowdropped Metroid Prime Remastered. There will be alot of negativity. You need to show significant stuff with Metroid Prime 4 or nothing Metroid at all.

No idea what the other two are. The worm could be Wiggler as said but if the first 4 emojis are playable characters, it wouldn't make sense that the other 2 are not.

Besides, leaving aside what we think of Markomaro as a leaker, the fact that Pyoro is correcting the emojis that made reference to Mario, Bowser, Peach, Mallow and Geno from SMRPG does not cause that the rumor of the remake loses strength?

And the only thing that's really stopped them before is because the old EAD and SPD teams were two different entities that really didn't give that much thought to each other's characters (which left Waluigi the odd man out because he debuted in a sports game).

After so much restructuring in the last few years, maybe it doesn't matter as much anymore...

SML was actually the first Mario platforming game to go all over the world (Egypt, Easter Island, Bermuda Triangle, China) with Daisy (a new princess) and SML2 already went to the moon. SML2 had a hippo, a tree (bugs) zone, space, etc. and way more inventive enemies compared to Bros.

I think this new 2D Mario game will finally fuse Bros. and Land, especially since the Mario 30th anniversary portal added the Land games. It's all coming together!

I don't think my poor, Mario adoring heart is ready to watch another high quality, potentially top of my personal list Mario game get snubbed in GOTY awards by Zelda...again.

Well, I did want 2017-2, I guess this is what is bound to happen.

excuse me? despite playing the game for 175h, i far for done in the game, i apreciating the game like a fine wine, i not intend to rush it to play the games this Nintendo Direct is gonna show tommorow, unless, Metroid Prime 4 is a octobre/novembre holiday release
 
Man if insiders are just going to tell us everything in the direct I might tune out until after it's broadcast

I mean...I don't think they're wrong that some have moved on from Zelda. It's a ok game, but it doesn't really provide a whole bunch that's new for people to ponder over or even for a bunch of theories to be created over. I don't think long term the game will be in the public conversation in the same way BOTW was.

Even now most of what I see are just insane Ultrahand builds, but even those are starting to feel like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I think the Nintendo tweet is a mistake and there will be no Nintendo Direct. We know very well that since the release of the last Zelda, Nintendo has stopped developing games to become a manufacturer of condoms.
 
Super Mario Wonderland doesn't qualify as a Major Nintendo Title because it's a 2D sequel to a GameBoy game

legitimately a new 2D Mario which embraces the handheld legacy and the variety/spirit of the 3D games would be a dream come true. Wonderland would be a much better name than my 'New Super Mario Land' title.
 
I think 2D Mario for GOTY is a little too farfetched considering we have games like TOTK and Starfield this year. It might win a few awards though, best family game is a thing, right? It might win that.

Oh yeah it absolutely wouldn’t sweep wins, but a 90+ meta and some award season recognition is definitely possible and honestly would still be amazing coming off the NSMB series
 
Nate and MVG think that Persona 3 is unlikely because Atlus has already started releasing TV commercials in Japan without Switch listed as a platform. Hmm.

It’s not going to win of course. We’re talking about the quality of the game is GOTY quality. We haven’t seen that since Super Mario World.
