Sometimes I wonder if F-zero and captain Falcon were to return in a new game, if it may take things a different direction, focus on Falcon, and kinda do a less drastic Star Fox adventure kind of twist with a story and adventure outside the racing mechanics

Not inherently. More of pull from the character lore of the original manual comic and the cutscenes. Heck the Like a Dragon studio could mess with it. Just there could be a whole thing around and influencing the race

I'm lucky since I studied JP by myself hard enough when I was younger just to read VNs and I really feel bad for Trails fans stuck with how the series is managed. I got Reveire for the switch ported by Clouded Leopard and I tell you it felt like the peak of this series gameplay.

The Sky games in particular are great for a portable console like the switch but yeah... Don't see it happening.

I just thought that if they want to fill a small direct this game would be nice since it is coming soon and getting showed on a nintendo direct maaaybe can get more people interested.

I wish this ended up being real. While it would end up being another Star Fox that deviated from just being a great rail shooter, I still think this fake game would make a very cool real game.

November, March, cross gen Switch 2 launch title are the three possibilities I see for Prime 4 and I’m leaning towards November. I think we’ll finally see the game next week in the big Direct so that’s cool.

Today was a slow day so when I was really bored mailed play asia about them listing P3R for the switch expecting to be ignored and got a reply "Yes, we do have P3R at home preorder here now!!"

No sweetheart right now you can't be this confident about this switch ver. Was funnier than not getting a response at all I guess.

Cracks me up, people saying that Metroid prime 4 should be moved to “switch 2” so it won’t be held back by the switch is the dumbest equivalence. That’s not how game dev works. Metroid Prime 4 has been in development for switch for 4 years now since the reboot. It’s scope has had the switch in mind the entire time and with Nintendo and it’s studios being pros it’s been optimized as heavily as possible for that hardware. Swapping that for a year for new hardware isn’t going to have an impact on the scope of the game, only major change BOTW had between wiiu and switch was loading times. If the switch successor is iterative then it’ll just be BC anyways. Especially if a new system isn’t targeted till late next year or the following, that’s just losing a mid tier game that would do better on an established platform

I agree in principle but video games are so scalable now, and the development target has likely existed for a long time. I don't think shifting platforms would be as unreasonable as you make it out to be, but I don't imagine that's been their goal

One Switch feature I hope Prime 4 takes full advantage of is HD Rumble. They could achieve so many interesting and immersive effects with all the different weapons and environments. After such a long wait, I want to feel every part of this adventure.

Metroid games have never been particularly large in scope so I don't know why everyone thinks it's going to be "held back" by the current platform anyway. If TotK can be a Switch exclusive, there's nothing preventing Prime 4 from being a Switch exclusive. Also, Prime Remastered is gorgeous and runs at a solid 60 FPS so that should have put fears to rest right there, but apparently it didn't.

I’ve made it very clear on this site how insanely hyped I am for Metroid Prime 4. But, it’s been so long that I genuinely can’t even picture a future me sitting down watching a Direct that features the game, let alone actually playing it one day.

I think of myself of a very imaginative person. Hell, I’ve even made my own video game. But when it comes to imagining Metroid Prime 4, my mind blanks.

Honestly, I'm less and less impressed by crazy graphical flourishes these days and more impressed by gameplay systems. I was thinking about this when playing the FF16 demo where all the graphical fidelity stuff left me stone-faced while all the combat options and mechanics were the ones that illicited any emotion from me.

Or maybe I just genuinely prefer less detailed stuff. I'm playing Grandia III on the PS2 and I've found myself looking at the scenery at my own volition far more than with FF16. I don't know if I can truly explain why I'm feeling this way, but that's just how I'm feeling right now.

Jokes aside, yeah. It was already difficult to imagine MPR exists and that it looks as good as it does.
I have spent so much time looking at the smallest news related to Retro, from the large hirings (art director, character director, this sort of stuff) have discussed so much about it, i dont even know how it will feel like when it happens lmaoo
