Certainly interesting to me 3D Mario is literally out of everyone's predictions when it's been so long since the last one. I want to believe EPD Tokyo is not going to wait until late 2024 to deliver a new one. 6 years is already pushing it, 7 is too much.

It's more that I believe they will not drop a 3D Zelda AND 3D Mario 1-1.5 years before a new console release, considering how long the games take to develop.

Good morning friends

My dishwasher exploded over the weekend so I had to deal with some minor flooding and the resulting stress caused me to not be here yesterday

How we feeling? Tbh I’m feeling the vibes are on for the next two-ish weeks

Maybe your dishwasher exploding is indication a Direct is coming.

If that proves to be the case, would it be ok if we all hoped your dishwasher would explode every three months or so?

“Explode” might have been hyperbolic. Let’s say “chose not to contain water“
We set it to run and then about 20 mins later there was water all over the kitchen floor and also in the basement right below it.

I bet it was a hidden and very aggressive promotion by Nintendo to make you go and buy the Mario movie on disc or digitally.

(For real now, we had to endure being without a dishwasher for ~2 months last year ... it sucked so hard having to clean every plate and piece of cutlery every time ... and we're a 5 person household ... there was so much dishes to clean... i feel you)

Absolutely not.
And if my dishwasher exploding is a Direct indicator then I’m sending the bill to Doug Bowser!

I already bought it digitally! They already have my money!

That does sound like a nightmare. Luckily our landlord is gonna replace our dishwasher this week so we won’t have to go that long…

Ah that's good.

When i tried to talk to the landlord, i only realized that i am my own landlord. Plus, of course, the Mrs. wasn't just satisfied with any replacement, research was done, it had to be a good one.

Tune in tomorrow for 30 minutes of the latest news from Derachi’s dishwasher.

Hey, so many of you wanted more mature content. This is peak mature content.

Honestly it’s better to invest in good appliances so you don’t have to replace them as often.

That implies the former one wasn't already an expensive good model. ;D
Man is it just me or is like, everything made in the last 10 years or so just NOT built to last? My parents had a fridge when I was a baby that they still have and use and it’s fine. A modern fridge? Good luck getting 8 years out of it.

Oof, no bueno, hope nothing was permanently water damaged.

Had that happen in my parents' kitchen; no issues having hardwood floors for over 16 years up until that point, and one section was like a water balloon that was sticking up six inches and an oval roughly three feet in length lol

Best guess at the agenda for the Direct:

- We open with Donkey Kong: Tropical Debris - simultaneously the Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker of the Donkey Kong series, it's a platformer with lots of vertical movement between the seabed and the surface as the Kongs navigate an archipelago of trashbergs that have surrounded and transformed their island.

- Atlus blowout, including Persona Party, a multiplayer board game with mini-games. Base game comes with the cast of 5, with the casts of 3 and 4 available in DLC packs. Pre-order bonuses include SMT1+2 outfits, which they make a strangely big deal about so everyone assumes ports or remakes are coming, but this does not happen.

- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Farmer - free to start farming sim featuring monster invasions that other players can send to your farm. Sorry, Debbie, no Final Fantasy Tactics this year.

- TotK DLC with Kass is revealed. Twitter goes wild for the hot bird man, who it turns out has been in Labrynna and Holodrum. Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are also available on NSO shortly after the presentation.

- SaGa Emerald Beyond is announced, blocking TotK from being remembered as 2023's GOTY. But that's not all! Unlimited SaGa is available after the Direct for me and its 10 other fans.

- Yoshi Mouthball Madness launches in August as an eShop exclusive. It's basically handball but you play as Yoshi and Birdo variations as well as some other Mario creatures, and you catch and release the ball with your mouth.

- Sonic Superstars gets shown. The Apollo Justice trilogy gets shown. Something everyone assumed would also show up here is not shown, leading to concern it's skipping Switch.

- Goosebumps asymmetrical PvP, because we don't have enough multiplayer horror games. Switch version has a Geno skin for Slappy as a founder's pack bonus.

- Sizzle reel randomly announces some weird ports and sequels nobody anticipated, including a Yakuza-like brawler starring Bad Mr Frosty from ClayFighter, a port of and sequel to Sentinel Returns, and a new Jade Cocoon game.

- Super Mario Kaizo Land is revealed. Mario, Luigi, Toad, Toadette, Peach and Wario are all playable. Waluigi is the antagonist. "Well, what did you think?" asks Koizumi. "I can't wait to read all of your threads about difficulty and accessibility later this year when Super Mario Kaizo Land launches in November!"

- One more thing: eh, sure, Metroid Prime 4 gets another teaser trailer, why not?

- No Fire Emblem remake because I'd like to see it, so it stands to reason it shows up in the autumn for a January release at the earliest.

We caught it very quickly, and there was a convenient hole in the floor behind the dishwasher leading down into the basement for all the water to flow through so it didn’t get a chance to pool anywhere other than on concrete, which I spent an hour mopping up. So I think it should be good! I’m glad I didn’t run the dishwasher overnight like I usually do haha.

I think the only thing that maybe needs replacing is the electric lawnmower I was storing in that part of the basement. Oh well, it was like $150, it’s not the end of the world. I’m glad the water was not 3 feet to the left, though. Then it would have landed on our very nice and very expensive treadmill.

We need a Roman concrete moment for Nintendium!

I read our Brazilian friend's tweet as meaning this morning could've been better if there was a Direct announcement scheduled, so I'm sticking with the idea that it's not this week - at least not today.
