I am kindly once again asking @Raccoon to please let people view who voted in the poll. We need to know who abandoned Team June for Team September lol.

Also I want to be able to reconfirm at a moments notice that WhyS voted for Team January so we know all is right on Famiboards. That’s important.

On one hand: why would they show anything now and not save literally everything they could for the potential June Direct?

On the other hand: that trailer was so barebones and nothing that it doesn’t really stand on its own at all, and could use a Direct segment to go alongside it to explain what’s going on
Y’know what that was kinda like when RtDLDX got all that info dropped on its website earlier this year, what’s seeing as how we still got a Direct shortly after in spite of that, no need to get my hopes down imo

Directs had trailers like this. September 2019 had a small Luigis Mansion trailer in the headlines that provided nearly nothing, and it had a big Animal Crossing trailer before the last reveal (Xenoblade) that was just the same information as the E3 one. I do think this would normally be a headline segment....

let's continue with doomposting, it gives me such a fuel

Also, this is like the month to go till Tears of the Kingdom tweet phase in pre-release Zelda thread, it's almost the same thing. And you all know what came after that.

Oh, we all agree that we are getting that Pikmin 4 Direct in late June!

I honestly thought we'd get to the middle of the month before the "crack open each other's heads and feast on the goo inside" stage of the thread, but Nintendo have gone nuclear with a combination of four ROMs and 80 seconds of Pikmin 4 footage.

just seems like nintendo slowly starting Pikmin 4 marketing machine with TOTK out which might or not include a direct later this month.

Anybody saying it confirms a direct or not is being silly.

the noe tweet dooming going into the announcement hours later was seriously the most unreal marketing experience conceived that actually happened

a little 'pick mans' commercial has nothing on that

like honestly this Pikmin trailer seems tailor-made to just stir shit up. They want this thread to doom post. That’s actually what it’s about.

In the cosmic question of “will there be a direct in June 2023,” this trailer has added a mountain of fuel to each side, while expertly keeping the scales perfectly balanced.

There are only two possible weeks left for a Direct to occur in June, since with this teaser it killed the possibility of rolling this week.

If Nintendo really want all hell to break loose they'll work with Game Freak to get a Pokemon Presents out in the next 10 days or so

I'd say this suggests this (lol) or next week aren't happening, but if the Direct were on the 21st they'd still want to acknowledge Pikmin again before that

however it does give the impression that we're in the MAXIMUM PIKMIN OXYGEN timeline which excites me greatly. get ready for a Direct two weeks after Pikmin

As a proud member of team January, last time I checked WhyS had indeed voted for team January as well

If you don't believe in June after this pile of nothing then go, go away and vote for September, we don't need you. You will regret at the end, I don't care.

Customisable avatars wasn't a thing I was expecting, so that's a nice touch. Intrigued to learn more about night-time gameplay, for sure.

There’s either new information coming (which I do think may be more likely through twitter now - but I’m still Team June Direct), or Nintendo are really going to go into the shareholder meeting with literally 2 first party games dated and a massive dark cloud over new hardware with a late 2024 release being the assumption.

I know Horse Game is meant to be terrible but why would they leave August and September blank? We had Xenoblade and Splatoon 3 in between June’s Partner Direct and the September Direct last year which ended up being two heavy hitters. I truly don’t understand how unnecessarily stacked H1 of 2023 has been and how we know nothing about H2.

I think either way we end this month with a lot more clarity.

(Or maybe they really are winging it and I’m coping lol - I’m starting to think that might be the case.)

the Pikmin marketing train has LEFT the STATION

a Direct now would harm Pikmin. Miyamoto would NOT allow it. In fact, that's probably what all the insiders heard

I mean back in August 2020, they announced Pikmin 3 deluxe, the day before the financial report.

Would it? It's an interesting discussion for sure. On one side, if there are no other games then people looking for games are pointed to Pikmin. But on the other hand many people watch Nintendo Directs, so a good final trailer (like TotK) would be an amazing way to get all the eyes looking then on Pikmin.

At worst they are going to Twitter drop the September game in August, like Pikmin 3 Deluxe, probably a remaster, probably Paper Mario or F-Zero

Nintendo saw people call Zelda marketing bad so they're now making sure that the Direct won't overshadow the Pikmin 4 marketing.
