StarTopic The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom |ST| Linkin' Parts (Please Tag All Spoilers)

Depending on when reviewers got their code this might be nice for their mental health =P .

Psst... you got any more of those... breadcrumbs?

I imagine that being able to (legally/legit) being able to play the game for ~ 2 weeks already is balm on any reviewers mental health! ^^

Fujibayashi thought BOTW was two dimension lmao

Everyone: "BotW is game of the forever!"

Fujibayashi: "What? You people drunk? I can make something better, no problem. Pffft, game of the forever...."

Nah I need to go in dark and with spoilery stuff going up in here now, I'm out. Have an amazing experience with the game everyone. Hope it blows your mind!

As long as the reward for collecting all korok seed is still shit (literally or figuratively) I'm happy
Assuming they're returning of course

Oh man. The final full day before a new Zelda game. Likely won't feel this way again until like 2028. I think this feeling summarizes why we're Nintendo fans. It's not that they "make" us feel special. From everything we see and read about how this team approaches a game like TOTK in particular, they take something seemingly small and simple (the motif of "hands") and make it profound. It's that they put their whole hearts into this expression of interactivity with something simple like a controller and screen, and it manifests into a feeling of both grandeur and intimacy.

Oh btw. don't forget that it's not just reviews tomorrow.

Nintendo also has the Treehouse Live demos of TotK.

So ... if you want to stay dark, you better stay off generally tomorrow.

Folks, be fair to those who want to stay dark and try not to talk about that interview in here.

NoA just tweeted about the exact segment I was talking about, so it is inevitably going to be spread around everywhere. Despite that, given we're so close to release, I think people should be courteous to those going in as blind as possible and please only talk about it with spoiler tags for now, if at all.

Never been so excited for a game in my life! Won't be able to really get into it until next week because of work, but being here and reading you all has made the wait much more bearable. Glad I got my OLED in December, the upgrade to handheld play is 🤯

Honestly, that might be a little too late for me so close to release. They're really going ham with marketing material RN, they don't even have the time to properly space out the dev interview xD .

"Complete Global Saturation!" ... of TotK marketing.

I guess Aonuma and the devs are already in their well earned vacation, so marketing is going berserk since Aonuma isn't holing them back anymore. ;D

"He's at the Eurovision Song Festival - quick, release everything!"

Also, no word about my CE just yet. They should ship tomorrow but I'm a LiTtLe NeRvOuS. Checked if I could buy one downtown on Friday morning, but prices have jacked up enormously at retailers - I got it for €130 and now it's going for €200!

Yahaha’d a post at work, without realizing the sound was on.

Coworker, a cube away: Was that a Korok?

Thats strange ... i thought i've read about them doing restocks for the CE just recently again.

Okay, saw some folks on twitter say today, but guess tomorrow.

Also, how are y'all holding up spoiler-wise? I'm still completely non-spoiled except for the first 30 minutes.
Don't know how I managed that as I used twitter as usual.

I know more about the game than I ideally would've liked to, but I don't think it'll significantly alter my enjoyment in the long run.

Lmao I just went to Twitter and the first thing I see is Nintendo of America tweeting out a key sentence that “spoiled” it. Well now I know lol

I think I will bow out of this forum as well until I have sunken dozens of hours into the game (maybe even until I completed it).

I really appreciated the discipline regarding spoilers of all members here. Kudos!

Enjoy the game as much as you can, all of you!

Time to arrange some some mugs or something in a weird, eye-catching pattern and see how many people try to solve the "puzzle"

No seriously fk Nintendo. Why would you spoil a day or two before. I’m breaking my switch in half

Then buying an OLED to play TOTK!

Rip friends who read the Ask the Developer, you all walked so I could run from spoilers

I'm 100% spoiler free except from one question I asked and got answered in the FAQ thread.

I didn't see artbook leaks and didn't even watch any previews.

Now that we know that there's a MGS2-style twist and we play as Tingle for most of the game I'm very confident that this will be the first game to reach a perfect Metascore.

Another day, another spoiler to run from. Only a couple more days, I must remain strong.

Biggest spoiler I got was someone comparing ToTK to
Banjo-Tooie

Which is offensive to ToTK.

That's a good co-worker. I was lucky enough to find 2 fellow Zelda fans at work and we've since converted another to the way of Zelda. So we've been 4 musketeers slowly going insane from hype.

Can't wait.

My boss is not a gamer whatsoever, but she asked me what I planned to get up to for my "staycation" that I have booked off, and when I mentioned it's for a video game she was like "...is it Zelda?"

Folks, even the non-gamers know how massive this game is!

Well, some of you wanted some "winkwinks" from reviewers. Eurogamer being like "the game's so good, it made us do scored reviews again" definitely counts as such a thing!

J/K ^^

Is it weird that I'm most excited about hunting boars and farming for ingredients and going crazy with the cookpot

Every time I think I've reached the maximum limit of how much hype the human body can contain, I read something like this and realize how wrong I am.

Did not look at today's interview article (the story hint in part 2 was more than enough for me to say nope to reading any more), looks like this thread is now the only safe Zelda place I can visit before release.

I ain't reading anything in here till I've played the game myself, but I just had to upvote the thread title because it's amazing LMAO

When Breath of the Wild came out, I saw a green text floating around that said something to the effect of “in 1986, Nintendo brought in a chicken that could lay eggs with the original Legend of Zelda, and everyone liked that. Over time other developers took those eggs, and started making even cooler stuff like omelets, quiches, etc.. Then Nintendo took notes, did a little experimenting, and with Breath of the Wild, got the chicken to lay a damn cake.”

Looks like the chicken is getting even more ambitious.

Eurogamer is changing their reviews to use a five star scale just in time for Tears of the Kingdom, which will be the first such review they run.

🤔

Wait, they are?

Like, I never care much for review scores or aggregates, but there was always something special about them slapping an Essential on some super hype release.

Eurogamer bringing back review scores just in time to give TotK a 7/10 and collect all the rage clicks. I see you, Eurogamer, you aren't slick 😉 /s
