StarTopic The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom |ST| Linkin' Parts (Please Tag All Spoilers)

gonna be so hard to keep myself from reading the reviews when every site goes crazy over them
Same. The reviews is the final test, since by virtue of it being officially sanctioned and not leaks, they'll be all over the place. The leaks have been fairly easy to avoid (though I have been spoiled on one thing, which was a shame), the reviews not so much.

Does anyone know when Best Buy will ship the game? I’m guessing tomorrow, but getting a little nervous since it says “ship by Friday” despite pre-buying months ago.

Sooo happy that I’ve avoided spoilers, and will likely make it to Friday spoiler-free. Like, I don’t have any idea whatsoever about the structure of the game, or even how it begins, and I’m super excited about that.

Definitely avoiding reviews as well.

I’m not reading reviews, i’m already positive they are all going to be gushing over this game. I would much rather read non spoiler first impressions and reactions from you fine people who probably will have a biased opinion like me, but at least I will know that they are coming from someone who has been anticipating this game for 4 years like me.

My collector’s edition won’t arrive until next week, so I’m going to use vouchers to scoop a digital copy that I can play at midnight. I did something similar for XC3.

Not sure when my collectors edition is coming but I did the same thing, I need to play it at midnight so I decided buying twice was the best option

Nintendo didn’t send you a code to review?
Nintendo doesn't really give most content creator codes until the day of release (which is kinda useless). Maybe those that got invited to the preview event are getting codes, but I have no idea.

Sorry for DP, but a warning!

Nintendo just posted the next part of the Ask the Developer thing, and they talk about something that will definitely a spoiler to anyone who went dark until now!

Part 3 has things some might consider spoilers; but others may be more excited from reading it. Especially if you're still concerned about dungeons.

This is going to be an excruciating day and a half for sure.

Going in mostly blind outside of the official stuff. Can't wait to see what I find!

So Nintendo spoiled something in the ask the developer? Come on why release that before the game because now it’ll be talked about everywhere. It’s not a spoiler if Nintendo puts it out there themselves

Okay, saw some folks on twitter say today, but guess tomorrow.

Also, how are y'all holding up spoiler-wise? I'm still completely non-spoiled except for the first 30 minutes.
Don't know how I managed that as I used twitter as usual.
Kept running into things on accident (and maybe a couple on purpose)...I haven't seen gameplay but I know way too many mechanic spoilers and I saw one story spoiler that I'm trying to forget.

Cheat code to maximise enjoyment of TotK:

Don't read reviews. Scores don't matter. Tastes are subjective.
I'm not gonna lie when I say that the last "hurdle" for me before Tears of the Kingdom is the review score. Realistically I don't think it'll be drastically lower than BotW but it's still something that gives me pause.

Yeah, I'm a bit nervous for the Metacritic score, considering how low some games have been rated recently. There's going to be that one guy who thinks classic Zelda is better and doesn't like the new mechanics or something like that.

This review got me a lot more hyped than I imagined I'd be. Surprised they'd go out and mention dungeons and how they'd be different from divine beasts in being huge and regionally themed, that eased a lot of my worries right there. Personally I don't know if traditional Zelda dungeons like say in TP or OoT would work in this type of game, but all I really wanted was regional theming with unique enemies and bosses so definitely a promising sign.

It is surprising, however, not to see any talk on the underground. They referenced wanting to do it in BotW but have never once said "you can explore underground in this game" even though the very first trailer took place there and we've since seen several underground shots. Makes me think there's something big they're hiding.

Already knew about
dungeons
from accidental spoilers but goddamn if this didn't make me even more hyped!
