Sega needs to contract Yoot Saito for another The Tower game on PC or Switch. It's been too damn long, and the last stab at it is locked on mobile :(

Project Highrise is a Sim Tower clone from the master of tycoon games Kasedo games, and it's really good. Very close to the actual thing. And it gets deep discounts so often, I can't recommend enough:

I went to sleep hoping that Segaboards was a nightmare. I am now awake. I am still in Segaboards. This is a waking nightmare.

Please, if anyone from the main universe can read this, send help. I'm trapped in some other universe where Famiboards was replaced by this SEGA paradise, and I'm stuck as the Hedgehog fan. I miss the world where Mario games are consistently critically acclaimed masterpieces. Help me get back to my universe! And, uh, if there's a mirror VolcanicDynamo who is aching over entering a world where Sonic is an uneven but beloved gaming franchise, send him back here when you get the chance. I'm sure he would appreciate it.

Siren (Xenoblade 2)
Suletta, Miorine, and Aerial (Gundam : Witch from Mercury)
Strelitzia (Darling in the Franxx)

The one to the top right of Siren looks like it might be the Gundam from Iron Blooded Orphans but it's hard to tell from the shot. There might be other Gundams from Witch From Mercury but I'm behind on the series so I'm not sure.
 
I bought my New 3DS (Small Version) about 8 and a half years ago.

Only now, after the eShop's closed, did I buy a grip for the damn thing.

Holy shit, this transforms it. I can finally play it without feeling like my massive hands are gonna cramp any second. Genuinely so pleased.

Only annoyance is there's no hole for the game card slot, but I'll survive without it lol

This must be an april fool's joke. Parallel universes? Nightmares? What are you on about mate.

Honestly we're gonna need a parallel world for Mario games to be "consistently critically acclaimed," lol. Mario Frontiers was the best-received entry in years and that still didn't see any nominations in Steph Jeighley's Game Awards. Even Mario's best doesn't hold a candle to masterpieces like Sonic Odyssey.

What else is different in this "main universe," of yours? Is Obedient Cat making games for Playstation? Did Modern Studios cancel Donkey Kong Prime 4 to make another Metroid game (of all things...)? Is Nintendo somehow still a platform holder after their massive fuck-up with the Ultra 64? I bet you can't even answer, you 'other universe' fraud!

All 8 on the right are from G-witch. Middle column is all non-Gundam so no, that’s not from IBO. But even if you read the box you may not recognize it cause it’s a HG amplified reimagined Its a non-SD version of Ryujinmaru from Cho Mashin Wataru surprised you didn’t notice the other 2 video game kits there.

Also should’ve @Derachi on this challenge if only to mess around XD

What? Mario Frontiers, Sonic Odyssey, no, no, that's not right at all. Where I'm from, it's completely swapped. Metroid Prime 4 is in development by Retro Studios! We got this company called Naughty Dog who makes these highly cinematic games! The Dreamcast flopped in the face of the PS2! Nintendo held on and leaned into their portable business, making this handheld/console hybrid!

Look, you gotta believe me. I'm not from this universe. I gotta get back home!

Ok, so I have a lot of downloaded games next to my physical collection and if I need space I clean up my SD-card. However, I think I'd prefer to have my games ready and go on spare SD's instead of re-downloading them whenever I feel like playing them. I also make sure to always have access to these games whenever I want to.

So what are your guys' strategies with using multiple SD cards? I mean, do you write down what game is on what SD card? What are the best ways to go about this?

The new All Quiet on the Western Front is brilliant. The soundtrack in particular is phenomenal.

Trying to convince people they’re from a world where Sega fails in the hardware market yet Nintendo made a device that’s a Game Boy and a home console at the same time. Next you’ll be telling us that Nintendo rebranded light gun games with a TV remote and a gyroscope and upended the industry!

I don't know what's wrong with me but have been binging all my favourite games from the last 30 years lately. Like, not really finishing them but dipping my toes in them again and god, it's just waves of nostalgia hitting you in a good way.

Have been playing the first Valkyria Chronicles again the last few hours and everything is just perfect. The gameplay, the music (man, that chapter music is nothing special but it hits if you have a history with this game), the characters, the WII parallels etc. It also helps that I'm from the Nethetrlands and a lot of the names from the map are copied from Dutch city names. As a matter of fact, seeing the mills Gallia might be based on the Netherlands but not sure though.

Anyway, enjoying the shit out of this :)
 


I know he’s like 100 but come on, this shit is unacceptable. Who wants to watch a movie that’s nearly 4h? I’m sure that if he stopped being lazy he could get it up to a clean 4h.

I checked with our Volcanic Dynamo (they don’t want to be in this thread due to streams colliding, cats and dogs living together and timey-wimey stuff) and they said to ask you about the best game of all time, The Legend of Sonic: Hedgehog of the Wild. There’s no way the real Volcanic Dynamo wouldn’t be able to answer this simple question: what’s at the centre of the map?

Breath of the Wild is a Sonic game in this universe? What in the world...

Uh. Hyrule Castle is there in Breath of the Wild. So...uh...Mobius Castle or something. Yeah. That can't be it, I'm reasonably confident in that. That localization was dropped years ago in my world.

Can we please stop making threads comparing Sega and Nintendo? Nintendo was our rival back in the 90s, but that was literally last century. The battle is long over and Sega won. We don't have to keep patting ourselves on the back by making threads about how much better Sega is than Nintendo.

Yeah no doubt, also Kit and Krysta said recently that Mother 3 was like Smash Melee where just mentioning it would cause Nintendo execs to bristle. The reason they gave for Melee was that Nintendo assumed any slight change required to port it could potentially cause a passionately negative reaction from the fanbase, and I almost wonder if Nintendo has the same assumption about Mother 3 (since they mentioned it as a comparative example to Melee).

Like I definitely wouldn't mind them changing the problematic parts of Mother 3 in order to get a western release, but Nintendo might assume the more vocal fans, the very ones begging for its localization, would freak. I dunno. 🤷‍♂️

Kanto battle: Red/Blu vs FireRed/LeafGreen vs Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee

I am currently replaying all the gen 3 games and after finishing Emerald I went back to FRLG and... it's actually far better than I remember it being? Pretty nice artstyle (I think better than RSE), lots of content (Sevii islands are awesome) and a nice slate of pretty nice QoL improvements...

I mean I don’t really blame them especially when we see examples like Paper Mario, Metroid, or Pokémon act whether they are justified or not.

I would like to see them do that too but they may also see it as spending too much for little gain.
