Some people on the internet reacting in disbelief at the possibility that Baten Kaitos could make a comeback on Switch because why would that be a thing and meanwhile I'm sitting here thinking "Guys, fucking Blades of Time got a Switch release. If that can come back via a Switch port, anything can come back."
nintendo is a video game company

New member of the forum, so I just wanted to say hi. Looking forward to interacting with you all in the future.

Currently playing through Pokemon Scarlet and Sparks of Hope. The Switch continues to quietly deliver banger after banger...
A fellow Metroid enjoyer, I see!

Welcome!

Quick, rank the 2D Metroids!

So literally just as I get the email saying my ‘O’ key on my laptop is gonna be repaired… my PS5’s Dual Sense stick starts drifting

Why must everything break :(
Because of the law of three.....

Since this post has anything else broken? Plz say no

I'm... honestly impressed.

I'm playing Skyward Sword HD on my Switch, but I should get to Luigi's Mansion 3 or Kirby and the Forgotten Land because this video reminded me of how beautiful the Nintendo games can be.

Maybe an unpopular opinion (well, this is a Nintendo forum, so maybe not quite), but they look better than even most PS5 games and Xbox Series X/S games.

Kirby the Forgotten Land and in October Luigi's Mansion 3 to play on Halloween

Made it to 3 months off benzodiazapines.

Recovery is a crazy journey. One moment you feel fine, an hour later all sorts of weird new symptoms pop up. Yesterday it felt like my brain was out of sync with the world, with my actions lagging a few seconds behind reality like a 10 year out laptop trying to stream in 4K.

Things are getting better though; for the first month and half I felt awful 24/7. Now, I have windows where I feel almost normal. The early stages are the hardest, so from here on, while there will be ups and down, the general trajectory should be improvement.

Thanks again Fami for being a safe and friendly place during this tough time in my life. :)

They should rerelease games people didn't see on the first go around. That should be the number one reason a game gets rereleased.

Sigh...

I might as well get this out of the way too. You'll all find out eventually that I have controversial opinions. Some of you might even block me. (Btw, I'm going to use any remakes in place of the originals.) This list is based primarily on which ones I'd be most likely to replay at any given moment.

5. Samus Returns - Great game. Unfortunately, playing it on 3DS actually hurts my hands. I also find hunting the Metroids a little tedious after a while. But I love this game for all the new elements it brought to the table, like the Melee Counter and Aeion Abilities.

4. Super Metroid - Look, it's a masterpiece. It is. But there are certain areas (Maridia) that are so annoying to me that I just don't enjoy replaying it as much as the others above it on this list. But the atmosphere and music are impeccable.

3. Zero Mission - The quintessential Metroid adventure, imo. Infinitely replayable. Simple, yet fun controls. Beautiful pixel art. And the Zero Mission content adds a unique flair to the experience.

2. Fusion - I don't even know where to start. Plenty of people complain about linearity, BUT I DON'T CARE. This was my first Metroid game, and I have loved it since day 1. This game oozes (sometimes literally) atmosphere. The art direction is incredible, with some of my favorite bosses and enemies of all time. The sound effects are just...chef's kiss. The sounds of the X parasites squirming and swarming live rent free in my head. And Samus is actually a freaking character. Not in a whiny Other M way, but in an introspective and thoughtful way. Fight me. Block me. Shun me. I don't care. This game rocks.

1. Dread - Did you know that this is an actual, real game that you can purchase for the Nintendo Switch family of systems? You did? Great! That's why it's number one.

(Oh, I guess I should mention that it's also expertly paced and features gorgeous dioramas, fluid movement, and slick, teeth-clinching action. Plus, Samus speaks Chozo and Raven Beak is a Chad.)

Dread! Probably my second favorite Switch game behind BotW. So good!

How's everyone doing tonight? We're supposed to get slammed with snow soon, so tomorrow might be a bit rough, but I'm looking forward to a nice cozy day playing Fire Emblem on Friday with snowy views.

Loafing about, I'll play some Pokemon Violet and Harvestella later. I already beat Pokemon Scarlet and put 250 hours in, and I had the urge to replay so I'm doing it all again.

That sounds wonderful. I remember the first time I played Ocarina of Time was on a snow day. I can vividly remember playing through frozen Zora's Domain and looking outside at the snow. That's part of what made that game so magical for me all those years ago.

Awesome! I have a similar memory with Paper Mario 64, exploring shiver city and chapter 7 in the snow while looking out at a snowy day, I love associations like that with games!

I don’t even really like cars but for some reason car chases are almost always my favorite parts in action movies. I wonder why that is.

You haven't lived until you've played Pokemon Platinum on a snow day in front of the fire with this pouring into your headphones:

Maybe you hate cars and like seeing them get banged up

Had an incredibly vivid dream about a Super Mario Odyssey DLC pack, and I mostly remember a volcanic pinball machine level and a haunted treehouse level. I hope that’s a sign it’s coming. Either that or Super Mario Odyssey 2.

I always loved playing the original Animal Crossing on rainy days in real life where it also happened to be raining in the game.

They are. I was nervous for my sister.

Also, this one’s for the thread and @merp

Why I am back from my break? Well, I believe that some of the headaches may have been caused in part due to a large bad ear wax build up in my right ear. Clean g it cleared this one headache that was nagging me instantly. I had a brief headache yesterday snd zero today. Wouldn’t be great if that was part of the main reason I was getting g them almost every single day?

I’ve been doing some power washing on my steam deck to relieve some stress the migraines have caused in the mean time
You've earned it, pal.

I hope I relieved some stress. I know that you were DMing me here and there, and I had no problems replying. I... was also going through a tough spot during one point in that time, but I knew things would get better and better.

Really, though, like you, I'm also going to use the next few days to relax lol.

Hello there.

No, but seriously, how's everyone else doing and what do you think of the trailer, for those that may have missed it?

Thanks. Hopefully things get good for you too. I’m trying to download horizon zero Dawn on my deck, don’t have the best of speeds so it will be a while.

Even if I don’t get headaches still, I’m still not getting fire emblem or dead space. I wanna work on a few games. I really want to get into elden ring again.

I did watch the Mando trailer

I have realized something wonderful/horrifying

Alear (or Colgate-kun/Pepsi-chan), when they inevitably get into the next Smash game, will be a Fire Emblem character that summons other Fire Emblem characters. The results of this will be glorious to witness
