You save physical space as well.Digital is pretty much only good to avoid cart-switching, other than that meh.
I don't think Switch's RAM amount was a major bottleneck.. Relatively speaking.. Nintendo had about 3GB to work with VS Sony and MS only having about 5-5.5GB from their 8GB RAM (CPU and GPU gaps were larger than RAM amount) . I think Switch's small bandwidth speed is far more of a bottleneck. Its only 2x as much as Wii U, and I do think its a major contributor to why a lot of wii u ports aren't 1080p and are stuck at 720p and 900p. And of course CPU. It's really second hand embarrassing when Wii U ports on Switch stayed 720p.Its good hearing that 8gb is the lowest standard now since one of the major flaws of the current Switch is the lack of RAM with only 4GB, and to think it was going to be much worse with Nintendo initially only wanting 2GB until Capcom stepped in
If Switch had double the bandwidth such as from 2x as larger bus bandwidth or even 33% more (LPDDR4x) 34 GB/s, that would have made a big difference.
So if I had to go in terms of importance of bottlenecks.. RAM bandwidth--> CPU----->RAM amount.
Switch's CPU speed was also an important bandwidth. Maybe equally important as lack of RAM Bandwidth in some scenarios.
That could mean no Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, etc. Not like I trust what those guys say anyway. The don't have a proven track record or real proof of insider knowledge and it coming true, like Emily Rogers and Nathan. One guy was so adamant that TP HD and WW HD would come becore TOTK, and it didn't happen., and even if they do, plans change all the time. Same with the MP HD rumors. They can't possibly know everything.I think I’m at the point where no new hardware is coming until 2024 and what those guys said with no big title coming for awhile after TOTK is true.
