They are going to reveal the Switch port of Super Mario Galaxy 2 to release during the time of the film's release which is why a Luma is in the film and also one of the McDonald's promotional toys.

The beginning is very narrative heavy and it lightens up a bit but you should expect there to be a lot of talking and cutscenes throughout. Essentially you'll have long periods of just talking or doing narrative stuff followed by extended periods where there is mostly just action and exploration. I honestly came to enjoy the narrative section more since the controls of the game just don't quite feel right. Combat feels a bit too loose and inaccurate.

If the story can hook me I might stick with it but I feel the same as you about the combat.

I think I've got a good starter set of sound effects for my 130 enemies. Lots of grunts and groans and a bunch of typical barnyard animal sounds I've been practicing thanks to the kiddos.

Still gotta work on good sounds for the special effects, my "pshaaaa" and "chew" don't really work that well for fireballs and lightning bolts.

Oh well I'll think of something.

If I'm Nintendo social media guy, maybe I think tweeting about The Game Awards seven times in the last three days was hint enough to tune in for anyone who cared.

The thing is they've tweeted about all of their nominated games every year including 2021 where they didn't announce anything, so it doesn't really tell us anything. Last year was also the only one in which they didn't have a "tune in" tweet so... you know...
I'm still hopeful for at least some surprise from Nintendo, but I'm not expecting anything significant.
