Yeah - I think it would be an easy win for Nintendo, especially if they had gen 3 and the 1 remakes for Pokemon on there. Plus, when you add up things like Minish Cap, both Golden Sun games, the Fire Emblem titles, and the original Mario & Luigi, you've got a bunch of quality, lengthy games that have aged brilliantly and which would be especially appealing to play in portable mode. Quality GBA emulation on the OLED screen? Yesss.

Plus, Wario Land 4, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission, the F Zero titles, Mario Kart Super Circuit... first party alone has seriously quality titles. Part of me wonders if monthly GBA releases might be the 'replacement' for N64, with N64 shifting to a less regular update pattern.
I would love the cut item off feature to be implemented.

My kids are at the age when I'd kill to have time in the morning on a weekend to make something like that. Can't even find the time to make pancakes and that takes like 10 minutes.
I'm sure some Fami will relate to this:

Well yeah, cloth physics are tough. Not to mention rampant clipping. It's easy as heck to make an enemy jump out of a lava pool in comparison.

Just wait until they're older. I watched my niece and nephew for a weekend last year and my niece made pancakes totally by herself while the nephew and I played games. She loves baking and will make cookies or whatever at the drop of a hat, it's great!

Re: GB/GBA on NSO

As much as I’d love April, I’m feeling September/October myself unfortunately. Though I believe they’re gonna come out alongside PC Engine as well so that’ll be good! I can’t wait to tell y’all to play Air Zonk

So a friend of mine recommended Immortality, and when I say "recommended", I say that he was over the dang moon about it, screaming 11/10 and said that it was top 5 material and that I'd LOVE it.

So I sort of paused what I'm playing at the moment - Ragnarök (can't bring myself to continue anymore), Harvestella, (Which I SHOULD finish, soon!) and Metroid Prime 2 (Plenty of time until the event's over) - and have put 2 hours into it.

I absolutely adore the concept (This art form needs more Sam Barlows) it all feels very 13 Sentinels to just go all in and dig through this web of truly intricate non-linear storytelling. But I'm starting to lose interest, there's not much of a red thread happening it feels like, and there's this feeling of just shifting through random clips, and I use the search function - which is awesome, super cool and unique - but I feel like I have gotten at least the majority of the clips, because I end up going in circles a lot.

Should I keep going? Am I missing something here? I mean, 13 Sentinels started like this as well, teetering on the edge of being a disjointed mess, a game that ascended spectacularly only when it all came together in such a phenomenal way.

Yeah, there hasn't been a NSO console launch outside of the fall area. They're probably hoping to ride this next wave of N64 games for NSO subs and then drop a new console.

I've seen The Dark and the Wicked this weekend and although I understand the paper thin/non-existant back story, holy shit does this movie succeed in conveying a creepy dreaded sense damn.

I’ve come down with a bit of a stomach ache today but here’s the story of what went down at the restaurant yesterday evening.

Basically. Food took a long ass time to come. They forgot our appetizers, 3/4 of our orders were completely wrong. Some,of us didn’t even get our orders. My order had peppers in it when it didn’t say so in the menu, and 8 can’t eat them. They tried to make us pay for the full order, even for the orders that were wrong and missing

.
I made this at 10 PM and then baked it in the morning at like 6:30. My kids go nuts if food isn’t immediately ready. Worked out well though.

Nintendo has about 6 months of announced N64 games to release (assuming that they stick to roughly one game a month) so it will be interesting to see how they support the NSO Expansion Pack in the near future. The N64 well is drying up with big titles that people really want. After these 6 games, you're essentially left with third party stuff and maybe some Rare games. So I think Nintendo will definitely need to announce new systems for NSO by September of next year. I think the February Direct, they'll announce DLC for an existing game, likely Splatoon 3, that will be free for all NSO Expansion Pack subs. They might also make the Breath of the Wild DLC free to subscribers ahead of Tears of the Kingdom's release.

I liked, but didn’t love, it. It can be pretty obtuse to figure out what’s going on, in a lot of ways, and the clip shifting does feel kind of random and less intentional like clue-hunting than I thought it would.

But it does do some really amazing stuff, and the moment I first experienced a… well… spoiler bit was legit creepy and cool.

I put around 6 hours into it and got a majority of the clips, but still had a LOT I didn’t understand and ended up YouTubing some plot analysis/summary videos, which really helped and I’m glad I did.

Okay I read this again and if you’ve only put two hours into it then you’re nowhere near seeing the majority of the clips. I’d say keep going! Also, feel free to spoiler tag, but what all have you seen so far? Anything jump out at you?

Looks really good, and it has rumble and motion controls ! Hope it’ll be available in Europe at some point, I have yet to find a decent Joy-Con replacement for handheld that is good and has all the important options.

This holiday weekend has been so stressful. Our 20 month old has decided that he’s going to start being a little terror. I love him more than life itself, but I cherish the times when he’s asleep.

Having played a lot further into it, I can really see why It Takes Two is so acclaimed. The story is kinda awkward, but in terms of pure gameplay, and especially how many different concepts it packs in and how well they're executed, it really is an impressive achievement.

It's also low key one of the most impressive ports of a demanding PS4/XBO game to the Switch, one to rank alongside the likes of Dragon Quest 11, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Outlast II, Sniper Elite 4, and Zombie Army 4.

My partner and I are quite different gamers; she is foremost a PC gamer and leans more towards casual experiences, while I am a dyed in the wool console nerd, but it's managed to strike a great balance of being accessible yet engaging for both of us.

I feel like trying new experiences like this and 13 Sentinels has really helped made this a great year in gaming for me; neither are the sort of thing I'd usually go for, but I'm really thankful I took a chance on them and stepped outside my comfort zone.

I have no games to play anymore.

Recommend me any.

(So far, none of the games I'm seeing on Steam look appealing to me.)

Well 1/2 of the christmas decorations are up. The other half is just going to have to wait til next weekend :p

Arcade paradise? SD Gundam Battle alliance (which is on sale right now)? Kamiwaza way of the thief?

Well, let's see...

I have 30 Steam page tabs open...

Out of all the stuff that interest me so far...

(The procedural generation seems like a turn-off to me.)

(Well, it says "Overwhelmingly positive" so I guess it must be good.)

(Gameplay looks nice.)

(You're a chemist so at least you're not another badass warrior or super soldier.)

(Dunno. Looks nice.)

(Played it once. Want to get back to it.)

Frankly?

I think I want exploration and atmosphere. Also, maybe no "depressingly heavy shit" but also "ooo-aaa-look at this game and be inspired" crap.

I dunno. I'll tell you what else I like in video games.

But keep in mind that I haven't played them for maybe a decade and it's hard to play them now that I'm just getting back into 'em (though that has improved here and there).

Reading about the protests in China made me realize that the pandemic started 3 years ago around this time. It's crazy that it has been that long already. In a few months, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be 3 years old.

After getting credits in Pokemon (and a little post game) and doing base P5R content (and a little of Royal stuff). I needed an rpg palate cleanser so I started my save of Hotel Dusk on my 3ds, which I started in August. I forgot how great the cozy atmosphere of this game is.

One thing that was intriguing but a bit frustrating since I don’t know what to do with it.

The mysterious person in black and white that appears when you watch certain footage backwards.

On a serious note, not too many gaming things left in the year. There's some major December releases I'm fairly interested in (Marvel's Midnight Suns, Sports Story) and TGA is coming up which will bring exactly zero interesting announcements for me, judging by the last couple years (or hey maybe Sports Story will shadowdrop? Kinda weird it wasn't given a release date when it releases next month), but that's kinda it?

I could maybe see an FE presentation or Direct but I feel that's more likely to be an early January thing. But in general the beginning of next year is really going to pop off with FE and Octopath on Switch, and more major third parties that I could get on Steam Deck than I feel like keeping track of (though Forspoken catches my eye as someone who loves magic and is kinda craving a basic AC-styled open world at the moment. But damn $70 at launch is kinda a tall order)

Okay good, I was hoping you had found at least some of that. All I will say is that there are basically three storylines going on throughout, all layered on top of each other. The black and white person is very difficult to understand and the thing I most had to look up, but as for the rest, just keep bouncing around and try to get new clips. There are some answers to mysteries that you’ll uncover as you go, the game is just very vague about it all and doesn’t outright tell you basically anything.

As usual, the Game Awards will likely be the last thing of the year for news, and who knows if we’ll get much of anything at all. But some XC3 orchestra and the general hype of the whole thing still has me fairly excited.

After a few weeks of holiday time, though, yeah 2023 is going to start with a bang. Lots of FE news and probably a Direct followed by the game itself, likely a General Direct not long after that (which will probably finally really go ham on TotK? Maybe?), then tons of great stuff in February and into March especially for RPGs. It’s looking like one of the best Q1s I can remember, and we still have Zelda waiting just a couple months later.
