Is there any footage of these ability nerfs in action? I'm hearing lots of conflicting things.
I've been told neither Defiant oor Contrary are actually nerfed so I'm waiting until I see proof. Intimidate being nerfed doesn't really make sense to me anyways, no on-entry ability has ever functioned like that and it'd be more like a consumable item at that point (which could still be the case, just seems odd)
E:
Looks like Intimidate wasn't nerfed?

Hah, he Bisharp evo has a special ability that makes it's Atk and SpA stronger the more Pokemon in your team have been defeated.
Basically, it's a revenge Pokemon to come in and clear after everything else failed.
My first thought was "oof, that makes Meowscarada significantly less good competitively" but then I thought for a second and realized, no, it's just a natural-born scarferIs there any footage of these ability nerfs in action? I'm hearing lots of conflicting things.
Edit: Protean did get nerfed.
Funny that they would nerf Protean and not Intimidate. Though the Protean change could also be argued as a bit of a buff for defensive uses.
Intimidate lives. Incineroar and Landorus-T rejoice.
Could be fun if it gets Parting Shot.So once but it resets with withdraw? Interesting. With that and the obvious Grass/Dark weakness that @hologram pointed out earlier in the thread, seems like Meowscarada might be a switch-in/switch-out dance in VGC.
I don't think the purported Intimidate nerf made sense. Abilities always are entry-based, not a use-it-once-and-it's-done thingFunny that they would nerf Protean and not Intimidate. Though the Protean change could also be argued as a bit of a buff for defensive uses.
Yeah, for singles it's not actually that significant of a nerf, Greninja was often used as a scarfer already anyways. Hurts Cinderace some though. My first thought was "oof, that makes Meowscarada significantly less good competitively" but then I thought for a second and realized, no, it's just a natural-born scarfer
Mechanically I agree, but from a power perspective Intimidate is arguably the strongest ability in VGC, so it makes sense they would want to try to nerf it again (after adding Intimidate immunity to a bunch of abilities in Gen 8).I don't think the purported Intimidate nerf made sense. Abilities always are entry-based, not a use-it-once-and-it's-done thing
Protean, Contrary and Defiant hurt a little, but I can understand the decision
Contrary and Defiant are unchanged AFAIK.I don't think the purported Intimidate nerf made sense. Abilities always are entry-based, not a use-it-once-and-it's-done thing

Okay, this is out the window - Intrepid Sword is nerfed to once-per-battleI don't think the purported Intimidate nerf made sense. Abilities always are entry-based, not a use-it-once-and-it's-done thing
Hang on, Primordial Sea is also shown in one of the screenshots. I assume this is an ingame menu, maybe it's just showing all abilities coded in.
That or Primal Kyogre is back (or they replaced Drizzle for Kyogre).
It's possible it's just that, especially considering this isn't the launch version of the game.I've read a tweet that said that all non-regional Paldeadex Pokemon are going to be Home transferable. So this could be GF building ahead by already supporting all existing abilities?
ok, but, like, is snow actually betterSnowstorm is apparently replacing Hail. Good. Hail always sucked
It increases the Defense of Ice Pokemon, though I haven't seen if it does residual damage like Hail and Sandstorm yet.ok, but, like, is snow actually better

Supposedly it increases Def AND SpD of Ice Pokémon, not sure about residual damage. It increases the Defense of Ice Pokemon, though I haven't seen if it does residual damage like Hail and Sandstorm yet.
it's so weird that tropious was flying in its animation anyway. i get that flying is it's schtick, but still. it looks so silly with its legs up and it's leaf wings straight out like that.Holy shit, Tropius is standing on the ground in battle! The curse of XY may be over?
I'm not sure they have changed Battle Bond, I think it's just a wording change (unless theres footage of it in which case I'm wrong)Yeah thats possible. They've also changed Battle Bond, it's just a spectrum stat buff after defeating an enemy now.
Whoa, Tropius is back?! I'm glad.Holy shit, Tropius is standing on the ground in battle! The curse of XY may be over?
Apparently Ash-Greninja doesn't even have data in the game, so it does appear to have changedI'm not sure they have changed Battle Bond, I think it's just a wording change (unless theres footage of it in which case I'm wrong)
I wonder if it'll just get the same stats minus the model then lol.Apparently Ash-Greninja doesn't even have data in the game, so it does appear to have changed
That's my guess, they probably wanted to let people bring it over without wanting to maintain the Ash-Greninja model and mechanic.I wonder if it'll just get the same stats minus the model then lol.
Looks like you can definitely catch multiples of the Paradox Pokemon.
They seemed to just be wild like other Pokemon so far, they haven't completed this story yet though.are the paradox mons gonna be catchable like how the distortion mons were in arceus? hopefully not. If there's one thing I didn't like about arceus it was waiting for those darn distortions to spawn and then hoping the rng gods showed mercy and gave you the distortion mon you were looking for.
Not yet, I don't think the proper datamining has begun (or at least it hasn't been made public yet).Is there a full Pokedex list yet?
I've already seen all the new ones, I just want know which of my old Pokemon are coming back.
as long as radicalsoda isn't able to make a four hour video about why the story in sv sucks then i feel like game freak has succeededI've only been glancing at the stream here and there, but it's wild that they followed up SwSh with this. From what I've seen, this story is on a whole different level and I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up the best Pokemon story
What's the source on these? Very similar to gen 7 where the majority of Pokemon have awful stats except for the batch of postgame ones that are pretty minmaxed. Tinkaton is tragic if this is real.WE HAVE STATS
