Any indication at all that we might get Sega CD games on NSO? 👀
Nothing yet on the NSO side, but I am pretty sure the Genesis Mini 1’s emulation work was the groundwork for NSO’s (they’re both M2 joints)

M2 also did the Mini 2’s emulation work, which includes Sega CD games, so I think there’s a chance that work can come over as well, though I suspect it’ll take at least a year (they wanna sell that Mini 2 first)

I’m listening to the latest episode of Alexander’s Ragtime Band and having an absolute existential crisis right now. Do I actually like JRPGs or was I just indoctrinated between my dad listening to classic rock when I was growing up and all the 80s cartoons that were imported? Help.

(expect some bumps of that “hey that game song sounds like this thing” thread soon)

Like seriously, Dancing Mad is just a giant tribute to Tarkus, Hocus Pocus and more things I’m just discovering.

As a lover of Square’s B-tier stuff (which is when they let their hair down and do really interesting stuff) I approve of this even though that’s really just Enix B-tier franchises… and Chaos.

Is that a HD-2D version of Oregon Trail? 😮
Uematsu goes prog and/or classic rock as all hell sometimes and it's great. Dancing Mad and Dark Messenger both come to mind immediately, but I know there are many others. Oh, and I guess Immoral Melody is a classic, too, with the Queen beat.

When will they put the real classics on Switch...

Viel Spaß? Aber wie viel Spaß?

Square Enix's B-tier stuff has actually been so damn good the past 5 years or so it's been kind of jarring to see these 3 release so close together to such mixed reception, but as a big fan of JRPGs I've been planning on doing the same thing at some point lol.
And Harvestella is this week to boot.

Also, play Live A Live. It’s like quintessential old school B-tier Squaresoft.

I got that day 1! Haven't beaten it yet though. I play a chapter every once in a while. It's kind of nice to be able to just jump in for a chapter and pick at the game. Really neat game. At this point I think I'll probably get anything Asano produces day 1.

I'm kinda using a different term for Square Enix B-Tier. While the Asano games certainly don't have the budget as a mainstream Final Fantasy, I still consider them high level for what they are aiming to do. The B-tier SE titles I'm referring are the titles that are competing in the AAA space but clearly aren't given the budget and attention needed to put them at that level. Star Ocean, Valkyrie Elysium, and Strangers in Paradise aren't meant to be old school-style RPGs. They are meant to play like modern Square RPGs like FF 15.

I‘m so hoping for a new Mario game shortly after BotW2, together with a Switch update, would make my 2023. 2022 started promising but especially Strikers let me down with its cumbersome controls.
I just can't wait to see what they come up with next, and it really does feel like a reveal isn't far off. After TotK would make a lot of sense, at E3 probably.

Excuse me, but November is the month of the Ogre.

Remember being in the store to get Mario Galaxy with my parents but it was more expensive than other Wii games (apparently) so my mother went all the way to another store to compare the price and the rest of us waited at the first store lmao Turned out the price was the same, but I still got the game let's goooo.

My Switch's fan gets so loud when playing Bayo 3 in docked mode that I am convinced the console will just launch from the dock and escape to freedom any minute now.

I guess by late november, after thanksgiving (?) and through december, we should get news on the newest Fire Emblem right?.
We kind of have to, since the game will likely be out before the next General Direct. I don't think there's any way we make it to January without hearing more about it (beyond just the small twitter snippets they've been doing)

I'm gonna stop using the Garbage Galaxy tag because a man should stand by his shitpost and not chicken out with an "lol jk" disclaimer!

Hand just had a bad episode where it was just shaking but it went numb and couldn’t move some fingers

Wednesday can’t come fast enough

so a while back @chocolate_supra asked me to put my Grögol songs on YouTube

and I thought, “maybe, but I don’t like it when it’s just a picture and music as a “video”. it needs a little flair! bit o spice! y’know?”

so I decide sure, I’ll add a handful, but I’m gonna make little background videos. and I DEFINITELY WON’T GO OVERBOARD or make more work for myself!

so uh… a little later today I’ll have the first one for you

and I definitely… overdid simplicity

but the next ones will be much simpler! I think! maybe! I hope! oh god

Breaking news: I just had an unexpectedly minted bowel movement. It means the Metroid Prime HD remaster Twitter drop is coming this week.

I can’t move my freaking hand
oh no

Some good news, I had some help. I’m able to move my hand again. It was completely numb and I couldn’t move it all, like frozen in place. Scary.
oh good

I know what you mean though, my hand got pretty rough like that. but uh… also it was like that for a much shorter period of time

though I do have the also-terrifying thing where sometimes sour flavors or just liquid hitting the back of my throat weird sometimes instantly seizes my breathing

No metter how awful a movie is, actors and actresses giving it their all can really elevate movies.
Indeed. Like, this movie was 80s schlock of the highest (or would that be lowest?) caliber, but in the scenes where Christopher Lee is in, he somehow makes it work. As an example:

Pretty much everything here is clunky as fuck (and the whole movie is like this in one way or another), but Sir Lee just delivers his lines with the conviction of a man who truly seems to believe that the fate of the world is at stake. It's a thing of beauty, really. Of course, then literally any other character opens their mouth and you are like "Oh, right, silly werewolf movie; of course", but hey, what can you do.
