Persona 5 Royal is still not available for pre-order in Europe. I assume in the United States as well?

It’s beautiful

Nope, not in US either. I check just about every day.

I see. I thought maybe after the Direct pre-orders were going to appear for some reason. lol We're still over a month away from the release, luckily.

I’m pretty confident it hasn’t been delayed. Sega/Atlus are just pretty weird about the timing on English version Switch pre-orders.

I've regrettably never finished P5/R. Going to start again for the third time, maybe on Switch depending on performance. If it's native resolution in handheld mode, I may choose that over PC, especially if ultrawide mods for PC don't surface. I doubt it'll support that natively.

Guess it's also time to finally attain Persona 5 Strikers on Switch since it takes place after the main game.

This feels wrong and unnatural

But will it suck more than P6 on PS5 sales in Japan?

Given how well Persona 5/5 Royal did worldwide I wonder if Sony and Atlus even really care tbh. It would definitely move a few consoles for Sony I'd think.

We might get another Monster Hunter situation on Switch. Pay the piper, call the tune kind of situation.

I could maybe, maaaaybe see it on Xbox too given Microsoft's relationship with Sega these days but even then I doubt it. Putting all my chips on it being PlayStation 5 exclusive, with at most a PS4 version too.

That's not likely anymore lol

Not after Soul Hackers 2 sales
Presumably P6 would actually get, y'know, marketing

But I do think if there's no timed exclusivity deal in place then they'll aim for a multiplat release. You know Phil's going to be gunning for it for sure

If Persona 5 Royal sells even just one copy more than SMT5, I could see Nintendo going after Persona instead of SMT next time. This is Nintendo, they get what they want.

I suspect P6 is multiplatform or there's an limited exclusivity window with Sony. Going through the effort to port 3 games + Strikers + Arena (and let's be real, the music games are likely coming too) to systems that won't ever see P6 seems like a bad expenditure of resources on what's basically a "last mile" problem.

Like the circles in the venn diagram of "only owns a PC, XBox, or Switch" and "interested in Persona" either don't overlap or you need to be at 500% zoom to see the overlap

And this is equally applicable for Nier.

This is Atlus. Expect the stupidest conclusion

Replicant is totally going to come to Switch later but I think Nier 3 will be PlayStation and PC only, at least for a while. Persona 6 is trickier. Persona 5 Royal might be the most wanted port in ages, even moreso than Bloodborne on PC and it's bound to do super well. And on the Xbox side I don't think Microsoft will be content to let the series go after just getting it.

But Sony loves their timed exclusives. And Atlus is run by morons.

I don't see it. Sony will try to stake a claim early again. at least SMT has been reliable

That's a bold statement.

That could be possible. Their sales aren't far off. Hell, isnt the combined sales of P5 and P5R higher than Bloodborne? I'd say forums like Era made Bloodborne seem a lot bigger than it actually was
Oh I think I read it wrong, I read biggest most wanted PC port for some reason. Overall yeah P5R is super up there.

"Not that bad!"

Ringing endorsement lol. I hope there's some direct feed footage of the Switch version soon.
We did get a short sneak peak of the Switch version in the Japanese Direct

Footage for Switch version!

Is he talking about It Takes Two or P5R though with regards to performance?
I think he is using performance as a general word for graphical proficiency, not with the specific "frame rate" association that western tech focused enthusiast press often uses it in reference to
