Pikmin 4 got at least one screenshot from the game. Prime 4 got nothing. Pikmin 4 got rebooted in 2019, Prime 4 was also rebooted in 2019. Pikmin always wins.
This will be controversial but honestly Pikmin 4 is more exciting to me then Prime ever was. I am not the biggest Prime fan. I really hoped for a Remaster release this winter to get a new chance at experience the franchise.

Pikmin on the other hand is one of the best franchises around. Pikmin 3 is literally one of my all time favorites.

So I 100% agree.

Why would they price a currently 25 dollar game for 50 with no upgrades? They're gonna bundle them together, it's the only way they're going to sell. It's not going to be any different.
First off, who says they'll have no upgrades? We don't know what. They could've added some content, motion controls, soundtrack, who knows. Maybe graphical upgrades.

Second, the games absolutely will sell at $50 individually, it's silly to argue otherwise.

Am… am I the only one that really loved the direct?
Fire Emblem and Zelda were already enough for me but they also announced Rain Code and Various Daylife (I wanted to play this one so much)
Also they announced Pikmin 4, Tales of Symphonia Remaster and Octopath Traveler 2 (I still have to understand if I like this series or not tho)
Idk, I think this was a really solid direct

I'm skeptical they'd do a twitter drop for Metroid any time soon given there was... just a Direct they could've used. It doesn't make sense why they wouldn't have put it in here. Unless they're doing like... a Metroid presentation. But that seems even less likely.

If I didn't know better I'd say this remaster/remake isn't as close as expected.
They could be saving an announcement for the 20th anniversary in November.

I also feel bad that it seems ever more likely Advance Wars is going to suffer from the diverted fanbase of a post-Drake release.

Really great direct overall. I love farming games but I am surprised by just how many we're getting in the next 6 months. Super excited for FEE and Octopath Traveler 2 which were my games of the show. Tears of the Kingdom I'm sure will be great but I was hoping for more of a blow out today if it was going to be the finale.

That was a bit too much farming for me, but In the end I'm satisfied with any glimpse at Zelda I can get.

I also feel like I should play Pikmin 3 again. I have it on Wii U and liked it, but never played it too much. I will also repeat my (now even likelier) theory that Pikmin 4 will be a Switch Pro launch title because they love the little details they can show in 4K.

I completely forgot RainCode was announced - that's certainly one to keep an eye on for 2023.

Animal crossing is not a farming sim. And i think most farmimg sims would be happy with a million.
It’s not a farming sim but very similar gameplay type. Pick up and play type games that you don’t need the big screen for.

the best direct in recent memory for sure. glad I gave up on the prime stuff being real ages ago

Emily explicitly said that she did not know when they planned to announce Metroid Prime HD but since the original game's anniversary is this year and the game was finished last year she thought it would make sense this year.

But she explicitly said she has no knowledge of the launch or reveal timing.
Are people mad at insiders? I just saw the staff communication. Nate was specific on his prediction episode what was what they know versus what was speculation. Emily said she didn’t even know the contents just the date and time.

Promises Rabbids 2... gets Rabbids 2... is somehow blamed for stuff I never said would be there

The cycle of stupid continues.
Sorry Nate for the vitriol. You were explicitly clear on what was speculation (most of the podcast) and what was for sure going to be in the direct. People just don’t want to listen and temper the hype.

On top of that, you nailed the Monday announcement and Tuesday direct timing. Plenty convenient for trolls to ignore that.

Pokemon Stadium games being 2023 are interesting, can't help but wonder when some kind of GB/C connectivity is coming.

I mean they'll probably release those games without connectivity, at first, but from my understanding it seems like those games would be lacking if it didn't connect to Pokemon RBY?

The post itt that called insiders "attention w****s" actually disgusted me and I really hate that this kind of discussion takes place in this community, which is otherwise one of the most inclusive and friendly gaming forums I've ever been a part of.

Ok I didn’t think that was the worst direct ever as some of the reactions I’m seeing are saying. They’re always better when you can fast forward though but I saw a solid amount of games I’m interested in and it’s great to finally have something solid for Pikmin 4. (also I don’t play farm games)

I thought the insiders were upfront about what they knew actually would be in the direct. The Gamcube plans post was never implied to be in this direct. And the Prime remake also never was explicitly stated to be here that was speculation. But I still believe it exists based on what Emily has shared. It always seems that the latest insider rumours about games become “oh this is being announced next and if it’s not it’s clearly not real”. Whatever, I also never believed in the TP/WW ports this year so ;p

Anyway March/April 2023 for Switch Drake with Prime Remake launch title and a few more years of support for switch as they transition slowly to Drake as the main platform

The new games that interested me were Pikmin 4, Fist of the North Star Fitness Boxing (GOTY!!!), Radiant Silvergun, Raincode (the game from the Danganronpa devs), and Fatal Frame. Atelier Ryza 3 and Octopath II look cool too, but I'm a bit burned out on rpgs right now. We'll see how I feel in February.

Overall I think the Direct was just okay. Definitely felt farming and rpg heavy.

I hope a third BoTW style Zelda game also gets a "__ of the __" name so we can call all three "The Zelda Of The Trilogy."

Nate, I can't believe that after you said a bunch of completely unrelated things and in no way promised this, that Wario Land 7: The Greatest Game Of All Time, exists only in my mind and not in reality. Frankly I'm upset.

Furthermore, after a completely different person on the internet said Mario Kart 9 would definitely be announced in February, how do you answer for this rumour, which you never reported or commented on, not turning out to be correct? Clearly, any credibility you had is shot to pieces by this different person being wrong about a different thing.

Finally, what I'd really like to know is, where were you when Queen Elizabeth II died? Suspicious that a frail 96 year old woman could die while I personally was unaware of your exact whereabouts and activities.

Haven't popped in since the Direct aired, but honestly I'm super happy with it! Fire Emblem and Octopath II look incredible, Zelda obviously is the big kahuna, and all the Mario Party games and Pokemon Stadium (and ding dang Goldeneye whoop whoop) coming to NSO is super awesome. I'm sad GB/GBC/GBA didn't happen, but I guess we have something to look forward to for next year's Sept. Direct, since that seems to be the trend with NSO stuff. Definitely a lot of farming stuff, but I can appreciate the appeal of different games from different series just fine and a few of them actually look pretty great. Kirby was the big surprise for me and I'm looking forward to that too! Pink boi getting a lot of attention lately!

Yes lol. Because no WW/TP and Metroid Prime Hd was announced even though Nate didn't say it would be. His name is just tied to it because he's talked about them existing so he gets hate for it.

Same shit, different direct lol.

A thought: as Serif said, Pokemon Stadium coming in 2023 might mean that GB(C) support might be then. Taking that logic a step further - what if the reason we didn't see Game Boy NSO today was because it's Drake exclusive for some reason?

Felt the same. Totally unwarranted.

The Stadium trailer said “Pokemon cannot be transferred into this game” or something to that effect

Pikmin 4 and a release date for the next Zelda.

Did we really need anything else? Really?

Seriously.

I'll gladly take a new Pikimin, Fire Emblem, Goldeneye online, and Tears of kingdom in May for what? Two Zelda remasters available on WiiU and a Prime Remaster?

Is that what people are mad about?

A twitter announcement for a remaster/remake of Metroid Prime would be so sad

At this point just save it for February after Drake is announced or something
