I like how:

Japanese Direct stream has a ads before the Direct starts. This is actually so genius idea that I don't know why it's not there on all streams.

European Direct streams have a actual countdown before Direct, which is neat.

And US Direct stream has a big nothing.

35 out of 40 minutes will be Chris Pratt telling us about the Mario movie and demonstrating his italian accent while saying various mildly offensive things

The last 5 minutes will be 3-4-Switch
Hey I'd take Chris Pratt telling me about sauces, cheeses and pasta in a nice little Chef Boyardee outfit over the 15-20% of the Direct I zone out for when the sports, Disney spin-offs, and/or high weebery plays.

I want to dream about the Nintendo Direct tonight so I can leak all the details tomorrow and see where I was right. I might even start a Twitter account stating everything as factual.
And removing the tweets where I was wrong

Glad the Direct was confirmed and it's a General. The timing is inconvenient for me and so now I have to make a decision. Waiting until after work and avoiding the Internet all day sounds awful but trying to watch it during the day doesn't feel realistic. I guess I just need to decide if I really want to watch it unspoiled or if I don't mind seeing it spoiled in ten seconds on a dozen other sites.

If I were you, I'd watch it in secret during work, the announcements are going to be EVERYWHERE trust me.

If you manage to not spoil yourself the payoff could be incredible, you only feel the "I remember the moment when they announced that!" Once in a while. If you're a enthusiast you should allow yourself that kind of joy.

I need some good sleep and dream some games into the Direct. Maybe my wicked plan comes to fruition. See y'all tomorrow!

US direct has those terrible dubs, whenever someone speaks Japanese.

The day Nintendo officially announces Drake hardware and the 'Switch Pro' shorthand dies, I will be happy twice over.

I understand "reacting" to a direct. I do a live reaction every time. - and will be again tomorrow for those interested. Even have a guest for the pre-show. That being said, I never understood the stand alone, edited, "review" of a marketing event. Yes, absolutely talk about the a direct, but the review stuff always felt weird to me.

I just have a deeper discussion on the whole event in my weekly podcast, that way I don't have to try and condence to 10 minutes where it's just a summary. The summary is for my news videos, not for reviews. IT's just weird, I agree.
Yeah, I think it's fine to do a reaction video or a discussion where they talk about the things they are excited for/disappointed in, but it's just the videos that summarize the entire Direct beat by beat in linear order even if they don't have anything meaningful to add to everything that make no sense to me. At that point, just watch the Direct again yourself rather than watch a recap.

The Direct will actually have all of these

I just found out that videogames are shown at these Nintendo Directs. We've been speculating and hyping things up for months for that?!

I can't wait for the Zeldatubers and their 45 minute analysis videos.

What's so cool about Zelda trailers is that they leave so many questions, (What's the hand, who built the sky ruins, what's the symbol on the shield, what's the time power?) I think the BotW2 trailer will answer main gameplay hook and title, but still leave a lot of mystery.

Hell yeah, the analyses and hints derived from them are legit half of the fun of a big new Zelda release for me. 🤣

HOLD UP Epic Mickey Remaster?

could be because Nate them talked about this likely being the last big Direct before the Switch successor is announced
Which is funny, cause while it absolutely could be true, yesterday a lot of people were like "if it's a mini it means for sure Drake is coming soon", and now that it's not a mini, people just did a pivot to "last full direct before Drake". The Switch Successor/Drake will eventually come, I just find it funny how everything can be twisted into "proof Drake is coming soon".

in the hardware people's defense everything I say is a joke

I missed all the craziness, but we did it! Super excited it’s a General. Weird that it’s only a 24 hour window, that has to be due to TGS I assume.

Also that’s very odd wording for the announcement: “Focused mostly on games coming out this winter”? I would have assumed they’d say “fall”; as it is, Nintendo doesn’t actually have any games slated for this winter, even if you stretch the definition to start December 1st. Yet, of course, but that makes me wonder if we’ll be getting a lot of 2023 stuff in here.

I wonder if the use of the word "mostly" is specifically to head off comments like "oh they're not going to show games outside of ___"

There you go! A selection I think we could actually see tomorrow, including a couple of third party wild cards.

I hope they open with updates on the mario movie just to get it out of the way. It really ruined the flow of the last direct.

I think with Splatoon 3, Mario+Rabbids, Bayonetta 3 and Pokémon, plus updates to existing games like Switch Sports and a likely NSO update, there's not a ton of room on the 2022 schedule for more first party stuff. Hoping for Metroid Prime HD in November/December personally. But with that schedule, it makes sense that most of what Nintendo shows will be post-holiday. "Look at all this great stuff coming next year. Buy a Switch now and be ready for it!"

I could see this being the last big Direct before Drake, January 2023 could be another 2017 style presentation.
It’s very very likely, almost guaranteed, the 2nd, and last General Direct of the year. When the new Switch gets a showcase it might be some other type of announcement/event than a Direct. Who knows.

Last year’s direct announced a new game for next year (Kirby), one continuing reveal trailer for a huge game (Splatoon 3), a re-reveal debut trailer (Bayonetta) and an NSO update.

However, as I mentioned earlier. This Direct is in a weird spot because we did not get a big E3 direct that showed us more stuff for fall. So I have no idea what they could do.

I feel like BotW fits the bill for both the continuing trailer for a big game and a re-reveal trailer. We could get that brand new game announcement (Fire Emblem) and NSO might get an update (Gameboy).

However, the lack of a summer direct makes things interesting. Will we get Metroid Prime remake announced and dated for December? Will Nintendo surprise us with an early October release? They also tend to fill their Jan-March lineup in this direct, at the very least reveal a big March game.

First direct that I genuinely don’t have a read on in the slightest. It’s going to be exciting.

For me it's usually the middle of Direct surprise announcements that I tend to lose my shit for.

You know the sort I'm talking about.

Like Live A Live was at the last full-fat Direct. That sort of thing.

Can't wait to see what they have slotted in for that spot tomorrow. Hope it's a new Endless Ocean or Goemon game lol.

But never the less, it feels really good to be HYPED about Directs again!
