Amazing how much less excited I am for a Direct now that Smash DLC is concluded. I'm trying to think of what would actually hype me up. Pikmin 4? Maybe???

I would be excited for a new Donkey Kong in the same style as Tropical Freeze and Metroid Prime 4 would be nice to see.

I don't need to see more BotW2, I'm going to buy it anyway.

We can barely even get the original on these services.
 
I still stand by DK being a Star Fox Grand Prix situation at best. The only sources we have besides Nate are:
  • Some random fansite owner
  • Zippo (LOL)
  • NintendoLife (who afaik have a nonexistent track record)
  • Grubb... who thinks Zippo is a reliable source on this

Donkey Kong going back to EPD after Retro's focusing on Metroid is common sense. The franchise is huge and desperately needs a home. The additional rumors from various sources is just cherry on the cake.

You don’t need sources or insiders to tell you Nintendo is making new games with their IP (unless it’s Star Fox or F Zero lol). But you especially don’t need any other source other than Nate to know it’s real .

Nate is the most credible person on this, but the only other known source that backs him up unironically thinks Zippo is worth taking seriously. There's also Emily stating she hasn't heard anything about it at all

I can't wait for the Zeldatubers and their 45 minute analysis videos.

What's so cool about Zelda trailers is that they leave so many questions, (What's the hand, who built the sky ruins, what's the symbol on the shield, what's the time power?) I think the BotW2 trailer will answer main gameplay hook and title, but still leave a lot of mystery.

In defense of Grubb, Emily has said that Zippo seems to have reliable sources in general. I also should note is that she didn't support his claim or anything like that.

I know Nate suggested Luigi’s Mansion as just an NSO drop but I thought a HD collection of LM 1 & 2 would have been a good release before a potential 4th
 
Final direct predictions, after taking everything we've heard into account. Spotlight announcements are bolded, traditional highlights are not.
  • Metroid Prime HD opens up the direct. Features gyro and some other fun additions, alongside the updated graphics and controls. Releases 11/11/22.
  • Metroid Prime 2 HD and Metroid Prime 3 HD are also confirmed to be in development, although no footage is shown. We are also reassured that Metroid Prime 4 development is proceeding smoothly.
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass Wave 3 gets a quick look, showing off 3DS Rainbow Road. Slated for late November.
  • It Takes Two port is announced for early 2023.
  • Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes gets a small update, adding in the currently unplayable characters. Shadowdrop.
  • The next Fire Emblem is officially unveiled, with a release date of 2/10/23.
  • Skyrin Anniversary Edition is announced for 11/11/22.
  • Mario Strikers update shadowdrops after the direct.
  • Yoshi's Woolly World gets an updated port, scheduled for 1/20/23.
  • Bayonetta 3 gets a new trailer, showing off some more story sequences and characters.
  • NSO gets the long awaited GB/GBC/GBA update, split across the base tier and expansion tier. Launching in October.
  • Nintendo Switch Sports gets the golf update, slated for next week. Basketball is shown off as the next sport for early 2023.
  • Batman: Arkham Collection is finally revealed, with a release date of 10/14/22.
  • Mario + Rabbids gets a quick segment, although nothing new is shown.
  • Sizzle Reel
    • Advance Wars finally gets a date of 9/30. Will still receive a physical copy.
    • Splatoon 3 gets a shout out, and Flounder Heights gets a release window of late September.
    • Xenoblade 3 DLC Wave 2 gets a window of October
    • Pokemon gets a reminder
    • Some other 3rd party stuff.
  • The Mario Movie finally gets a full trailer.
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD are announced as a double pack for 10/7/22.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 finally gets its title and a decent trailer, although it's still cryptic. No date is given.
 
I know others don’t think it’ll be there but idk, I think we at least get a glimpse at Samus’s model in Prime 4 if Prime remake is there. A super short teaser

I'm a sucker for zeldatubers. Commonwealth realm, zeltik, Nintendo black crisis. Ill watch all their 30+ min video breakdowns of a 45 second clip and be happy doing it

I think either Everybody 1-2 Switch or Advance Wars can fall in December. They can be 2023 tho.

Hard to say, since we haven't had this timing for Directs in a while outside of E3

It could just be that they wanted a bigger time gap between the Direct and the start of TGS

Ohhhh I see! The people I saw talking about it sounded more like speculation or sarcasm but I'd love to see that coming to fruition.
