I have noticed a lot of outlets get a lot more icy on this game, in not covering it and everything. And man, that is such a shame considering how insanely good this game is so far. Its definitely in the running to be my 2nd favorite game of all time.

Icy as in the cold shoulder. It's not like I have seen any less praise from those who cover. Just the amount of articles and everything is significantly lower, then something like Horizon Zero Dawn, despite Xenoblade 3 being the better reviewed game and seemingly getting better fan reception(and this was even with Elden Ring eating Horizon's lunch).

Is Horizon: Forbidden West by the way.

And yes, everything I've heard about the game makes it seem like they just made a prettier yet extremely derivative sequel (which makes the considerably high score weird).

If Ben Moore were still on the team, I think he'd go bananas for the game, as he did for Shin Megami Tensei V.
As it is, I am not sure who they have assigned to the review (and I'm disappointed in NOA's marketing team for not identifying larger youtube partners like EZA for early review copies... seriously that team has been covering the industry for like 20 yrs in sme capacity).

Yeah I think Ben would've loved the game. He is a huge fan of XB1.

40 hours in and still on Chapter 4.

People that have finished already either have way more time than me or don't like sidequests.

The sidequests are so good this time.

It's entirely possible I missed the spoiler I mentioned from a previous trailer, I basically didn't watch any preview footage beyond the 20 minute breakdown because I knew I was getting the game.

Damiani is reviewing and was very high on the game in their recent Frame Trap conversation.

(Still means a 10 is out of reach, since he's one of EZA's more technically minded raters. A 9.5 would be a shock and even a 9.0 would be a statement.)
 
How can you give this game a 7? It's maybe the best game I've ever played. And I'm still at chapter 4, and people say that later chapters are even better.

It's really head scratching to hear what the negative reviews sound like too.

Unimaginative areas? Lack of character development? Boring and predictable plot?

What the fuck guys. It's okay that you don't like the game, but that is the exact opposite of what Xenoblade 3 is.

Yeah I don't get those. I around halfway through chapter 4 and there's been plenty of great character moments and great areas. The GI one even said that Tales of Arise had better characters and story and all I heard about it is how the characters and story were one of the weaker parts.
I get it's their opinion but there's no way this game is less than an 8. It just feels like they rushed until midgame and then did the reviews.
