Regarding horses, I get the sense the majority of players didn't use one in BotW, preferring to travel on foot and with the glider. In games like Ocarina of Time and The Witcher 3 horse travel felt more beneficial and accessible. I could be wrong though.
Seriously? Dude my horse was my buddy. It got to a point where traveling on foot in that game felt exhausting and weird to me unless I was at a.. non-open location? Not necessarily just settlements but.. places.. where you do stuff.. like Death Mountain and stuff.

Is there a word for that? Obviously everywhere in Hyrule is "a place" of sorts but.. like a place-place. Yall know what I mean?

This kinda fell apart, sorry

...you're not wrong. With the game so focused on vertical movement, I barely used horses, instead preferring to climb my way up and use the warps as needed to get back from place to place.

I used my horses plenty. They’re my adventuring buddies; they make the road less lonely. I also had no issues with the controls and felt the game was fairly flexible—or as flexible as they could be for a rigid animal.

There’s a narrow path through the Faron jungle that you can take your horse down that actually has a trap set by Bokoblins and electric Chuchu. I had my first horse death there and I was distraught. I reset, naturally.

I absolutely loved their implementation.

Just because on foot is more flexible doesn't mean the horse hasn't its uses. Loved how it stayed on track.
Especially when you wanna travel fast into another region or area where you don't have any fast travel points available.

The DLC armor that allows you to teleport it to your position is a really nice QoL addition tho.

I got the Royal horse and named it Bony. It was my friend.

Well first, I don't think I got far enough to even get the horse, but if I did, I liked roaming on foot, because that added to my playtime.

I'm sure I rode a horse, but I don't remember it. It's been so long since I turned on BOTW.

Had this dream that Nintendo never released the Wii U but skipped straight to the Switch after leaving a massive gap between dying support for the Wii and the launch of BotW.

Then I woke up and realised that's how I always lived my life.

How can we have a thread about horses without the most badass horse that ever graced the earth???

I remember the first time I came up against him. I was so used to just wrecking everything and everyone, as you do, and so I just ran right at him and starting attacking. He beat the shit out of me lol. He's been my favorite character in any Musou ever since! Lu Bu for Smash!

if you’re talking about what I think you’re talking about (I’m prone to confusion), there’s not “a” horse you get

it’s more of an infestation with benefits

Does anyone know what this patent is? In English the title reads, "SUPPORT DEVICE, LOADING DEVICE AND CONTROLLER SYSTEM", I think it was just released today or yesterday. Notice the 2016 application date.
It seems to be a continuation of one of the original switch patents. Those cannot have anything new.

Here's a US family member

Also this.

I used horses a lot more once I moved to warpless runs.

Since this is general discussion I need to rant about a non-nintendo topic:ROFLMAO:.

Its not a big issue but I despise how gambling segments and gambling sites have taken over in MLB. The hypocrisy from the league that has banned players for gambling.

I know its mostly for revenue but Capitalism sucks.

Going back to XC3, later.

Dealing with a grade a migraine right now that feels like a full on assault on my entire face
Same, feels like my eyes want to pop out, and hurting my teeth. Not my worst one of these tho thankfully.

Well spent more time on hobby stuff this weekend instead of gaming, but I’m wrapping up the big one I’m not sharing yet today hopefully. But instead of working on that all day I took advantage of a halfway nice day to use my airbrush to prime and base my next batch of X-men United minis

Hopefully I can knock out my tin of wip by October, I’ve had way too many days I can’t use my hands for fine detail work

Nice! I'm currently working on a Tyranid Neurothrope myself.

I have a chance at getting an autograph from Benedict Cumberbatch from one of the online signing places I go to. His is pricey and the deadline is in December but I hope to get his

I’ll even sacrifice the potential switch drake for this

Okay so uh

Spoilers for Xenoblade 3's OST

THE CLIMAX OF THE MOEBIUS BATTLE THEME IS THE HYPEST SHIT I'VE EXPERIENCED IN FUCKING YEARS

YEARS!!!!!!

FUCKIN HELL YALL

My partner finally had her first day at her new workplace yesterday, after suffering for 6 months in a horrible one, and it made my heart sing last night when she told me that, for the first time in forever, she had a great day at work, and that the new place is wonderful.

I'm just so freaking happy she can finally experience the joy of teaching as it's supposed to be. She works so hard, and it's especially not easy as an immigrant for whom English is a second language. Gosh she's amazing, I feel so freaking lucky. (Sorry to gush haha)

She also enjoyed watching me play Xenoblade 3 so much on the weekend, (while I was high on painkillers and she was nice and tipsy) that she has borrowed my copy of Xenoblade 2 to play for herself. Another fan in the making, mwahaha

This is the kinda shit I love to see! Feel free to gush. More positivity is always welcome!
