But to be fair, from what I could gather from all reviews I read, 1DE would have been 90+ had its resolution be more consistent on docked and undocked than it is. In fact, the game was 91-90 for a moment, before setting in 89. But yeah, I agree with you know that it is harder to do, given the huge amount of "gamer jornalists" that make reviews and are counted on metacritic.

I don't know about the perception of the series changing, by I do agree things have changed since 2011. XBDE addressed a lot of that with it's qol changes, so don't think that has much to do with it.

I think ithe main thing was it was the third time the game released. You only get those first time originality points once yeah?

The second thing that I think had a big impact was the game was only half a remake, the main cast and supporting characters got remade, (mostly) but the regular npc's just got cleaned up, and stuck out like a sore thumb. (Some main character outfits got the same treatment, and so if you put on certain outfits you get Wii models and textures mixed with the remake head, with a sharp distinction at the base of the neck, it's weird.) This applies to the environments, models and textures as well, some of them were completely remade, and look great, while right next to that is a bunch of original Wii assets.
 
DE was a remaster. It does way more than most remasters.

Some reviewers have unrealistic expectations comparing it to FF7 remake which came out earlier the same year.

That might have affected DE scores the most.

Count me in the "new arc" group with the next Xenoblade game. There's no need to start off from scratch once XC3 concludes what Klaus began, instead expand on whatever new future the cast creates in the end.

A fantastic track, and it's always great to hear how well the lead guitar integrates with the orchestral backing.

The drummer has some very distinct fills, but it's not the fella from 2's OST (who passed away in 2019).

Not much has leaked so far, it seems, at least as far as I'm aware. But we do know one thing from someone apparently streaming the game early, which is the identity of the first Hero

As speculated, Ethel is indeed the first Hero. I don't know if we know the circumstances around her joining (and I'm certainly not going to go looking for that information), which is the bigger question that Ethel poses, imo
 


Another actress confirmed, two weeks ago, that she has a role in 3. No word about which character she will be portraying.
She's Scottish/Glaswegian, so perhaps Mor Ardain folks are getting representation...
We've already heard Fiona (Rebecca Benson) speaking with an Edinburgh accent in the June Direct trailer.
 
Is the game not available to pre-order for store pick up? Can't do it at Best Buy, Target, or Gamestop. Shipping only.

Same, but the urge is strong. I prefer to hear it in-game first, though. (I know I said I was leaving but I'm still here, can't help it, lol. ONE WEEK!)
 
Can't believe a little over 3 months ago the game was supposed to come out in September and now we're only one week away. Hopefully I'll manage to finish my third Xenoblade 2 run before then (and maybe torna)
 
I really feel like the title of this thread should be changed now that we’re getting leaks.

Thread regulars will know, but it could easily be read by someone who doesn’t frequent the thread a lot as open spoilers being allowed for XC3

The physical edition of the game is scheduled to ship by July 29, 2022. The remaining Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition contents will ship in fall 2022.
