I didn't have many expectations but that was definitely still a bit shit. Doesn't help that Persona got spoilt for me cause I came on here when the direct wasn't uploaded straight on time to see if anything was said and I saw someone had posted frame 1 about Persona coming to Switch.

Harvestella looked good, Persona is nice but I'm worried about P5R's resolution and I'd much rather get P3 FES. P4G is very nice though.
Overall I'm tired of looking at almost every game and saying, that looks decent but I definitely won't play it on Switch cause I don't want to deal with low resolution crap. Like Harvestella which I think was the most interesting game there, unless it's exclusive I have no intention of playing it on Switch, which is sad. Pro or 2 hurry up please.

No Bayonetta as well is just painful.

I enjoyed the show a lot. :) So many games that catered to my taste. Doraemon SOS, Harvestella, that Disney game, Persona, and a bunch of others. Enjoyed that more than some of the general directs.

so this was uhhhhh pretty good actually? seems like a bunch of people's obscure pipe dreams came true, too. still don't fully understand why they couldn't drop a couple of first/second party trailers and maybe one first party in here and just call it a direct mini, if only for the sake of getting a bunch more eyeballs on the third party trailers by avoiding the scuffed partner direct branding. even without first party this was solid

Well, that was excellent.
If they had thrown first party reveals and made it a general direct, it would have easily became a top tier direct.
Really weird not to throw in a Bayonetta 3 trailer with release date, Metroid Prime HD reveal (+ maybe a small gameplay teaser for Prime 4), and announce whatever else Nintendo has for August to December and make it a full on General Direct. You can tell this was planned months ago to be an usual E3 Direct, it had a good mix of big, desired third party ports and smaller but great brand new games.

Anyway, that was a great time, I'm gonna buy so many of those games.

Hoping for a Mini Direct with first party games in July.
They clearly have enough material imo. Bayonetta 3 release date. One final trailer for Xenoblade 3. Splatoon 3 new mode or a new look at the singleplayer mode + reveal of the idols. Maybe a new trailer for Pokémon. Metroid Prime remake. And one or two other games planned for August to December.

Time for work, y'all. Glad many of you enjoyed the Direct and I hope we get more clear answers on whether Nintendo might have an exciting July soon. The ride never ends!

this was a really solid showcase, decent variety of games got shown off and mario rabbids is looking great too. nier and persona were my two wishlist games in terms of third party and they both got announced. goddam

That was…actually pretty great!

-Persona on Switch is long overdue, but worth the wait.
-LIVE A LIVE demo!!!
-Mega Man Battle Network Collection is not for me but I know a lot of people really wanted it.
-PAC-MAN World remake is excellent. Great games.
-Nier Automata actually looks really good on Switch.
-Lorelei and the Laser Eyes looks SO cool.
-Blanc looks neat, little indie darling.
-Sonic Frontiers cyberspace levels actually look really cool. I love the idea of all of the levels existing in the same plane like that. The Switch version looked…okay. Thought it would be worse. But idk why Sega is so scared to show those levels. Weird marketing.

And Mario+Rabbids sequel looks stellar. Very excited for this.

This direct is even more baffling. Take what we had and add in Metroid Prime Remaster, Bayonetta 3, Mario Kart dlc, Splatoon trailer, another announcement and call it a Mini
Very strange behavior. If we had all of these 1st parties, then I would honestly say this was a strong Direct because none of the third parties here looked like shovelware or anything, there just weren't many that personally excited me. Plenty of solid announcements though

While a bunch of that isn't my thing, I can still admit that it was a really strong show.

Battle Network Collection was such an unexpected announcement. I thought we were well past any chance of it happening. :D

Very good direct for me, October is mental. Nier, No Man's Sky, Persona 5R and Mario + Rabbids I just that month!

NGL my hope was starting to waiver as well. I'm guessing that COVID pushed that project back.

I love Rune Factory but my reaction to Harvestella was "wow, Rune Factory 5 but good !" lol
Excited for the new Doraemon SoS too !

Battle Network Collection definitely made that direct for me. It's funny, when Nate briefly mentioned MegaMan yesterday, it was the first thing that popped into my head. And then I was like "Naaah that would actually be really cool"

Well Capcom, touche. You have my money

Didn’t even mentioned at the end if they’ll have another partner direct.

I’m guessing this is just the one for this year.

That was actually really good. I alrd played most of those games but looking forward to Mario+Rabbids, that Harvestella (?) and the Blanc game look cute. I will definitely give P4 Golden a try once that drops and maybe the Switch will make me finish P5 (Royal this time I guess).

Objectively pretty strong for a Partner Showcase (Mini)

So will the eventual main direct be extremely light on third parties? Or is there really that much more to come
That felt like a typical E3 Direct minus the first party announcements to me.
Really believing the "First party mini coming in July" theory, you can tell it was what they planned as their E3 direct before E3 got cancelled, I don't think they'll wait September to announce whatever first party announcements they had planned for this.

And then in September it'll be back to normal with a usual General Direct imo.

I LOVED this direct! There's a bunch of games I really want to play! But WHY persona 5 royal just 1 DAY after Mario + rabbids?! They're both "must buys" for me...

If there's a first-party showcase in July, then they could have combined it with the Xenoblade Direct and this Partner Showcase and had a huge Direct. Why they decided to split everything up is a mystery to me, but I guess Nintendo likes to be weird and unreasonable.

Makes a lot of sense. Updates on known titles, a few other small announcements for what’s coming this year. Save the rest for September.

It was a good Direct, at least for people who only play on Switch. I already played every game that looked interesting to me on PC or PS4, so not much for me.

But I must admit that these games plus one big Nintendo announcement and a few first party ports would have made a pretty solid general Direct.

This is why I love Nintendo, when do we think we got them predicted they always do something weird. Betting on that Mini in July. Makes too much sense.

It was okay. Some nice surprises, a lot of old games. No big announcements, but it was better than what I expected.

Actually enjoyed the Direct. The only change I would have made would be to swap that Harvestella game with the FF Pixel Remaster Collection. I have no idea why Square is so opposed to making money, they don't need to make a new apocalyptic farming sim and instead just throw those on the system as a shadow drop and watch the money roll in.
