Here is an update on the insider gossip list I posted a few days ago.

  • Nate says a Direct is coming
  • Grubb says Nintendo is doing a bunch of different showcases this year
  • Pierce says 29th, Nates says 28/29th
  • Xeno 3 direct happens - edit: A 4chan post that correctly predicted the exact time (direct + announcement) and length of X3 Direct says a X3 story trailer is coming in a Direct next week. Nintendo later names X3 trailer "teaser"
  • Tom Henderson says something is happening, but maybe not a direct - edit: Later clarifies that a mini partner is coming per VGC, and M&R2 is the something he was alluding to
  • Nate confirms we are getting details about M&R2 next week. But likely not Bayo 3
  • Piers is flying out a work from home member to discuss a Direct next week
  • PH Brazil states he is hearing a partner direct is happening, 2018 multiplatform port is coming to Switch
  • Eurogamer, VGC, Tom, and Nate further collaborate that they are hearing the Direct is now a Mini Partner
Make your own judgement. Thankfully we should be less than 24 hours away from knowing the true answer!
I think there’s inaccuracies in here.

Yep. Kingdom Hearts I have too. We got Cloud versions of the old games. I see all the collections of KH natively on Pro.
I’m thinking this will probably be the case with the obviously inevitable Yakuza series ports, specifically the Dragon Engine games (K2, 6, LaD)

I would laugh so hard if Square solidifies their E3 season win even more by showing out in Nintendo’s showcase too

Imagine if the direct is a presentation for Switch Drake and the reason it's focused on third parties is because it will show games that can't run on base switch.
What would your reaction be?
Omg Johnny did he figure it out? Third party showing their games for Switch Pro this week

I wouldn't put much faith in that 4chan post (and yes I know I'm the one who brought it up in the first place lol), thinking about it that post was made after Monolith Soft hadn't tweeted anything that day (they have been tweeting about Xenoblade 3 every work day since the second trailer) so it was probably a prediction that something else would be announced that day, and they based that prediction on the Xenoblade 2 Direct from 2017

Very mad. Reserve it to a new hardware and not lock It to a "Pro" version of something that already exist. Worst case scenario.

Tbf Nate hinted towards a solid Showcase IIRC. Probably what the games he heared about are interesting, somehow. Let's Hope for the best
That’s what I was referring to. What Nate considers to be a solid showcase won’t necessarily equate to what everyone else thinks is a solid showcase. It’s not a knock on insiders, just pointing out that we shouldn’t hold something like that against them if we’re ultimately disappointed with what’s shown.

Will work on making it as accurate as possible.

Nacho Requena is PH Brazil?

VGC states the direct will be focused on third party titles. So this might be why people assumed it was a Partner.

He also says persona will be there plus a game that has been available for four years now.

Again, this is all according to VGC. If someone has a more accurate summary please let me know.

All Nate basically said about Bayo 3 is “idk”
On Twitter he even replied to someone with “possibly”

I now convinced myself that Good Feel will reveal their new game. I have only myself to blame.

Nate’s opinions have differed from mine in the past I think, I remember him really liking the Sept 2019 direct, which was by far my least fav of the switch era lol

But I do believe him here, out of hope haha

BTW, has Nate ever leaked a direct before, just to be curious?
Like the contents of it? No. And Even if he knew an entire direct, I don’t think he’d spoil the surprise. He’s not that type of guy

He’s always been spot on about timing though. Like if he says something is gonna happen, something does.

Nintendo seems more locked down on their first party announcements. Look at February 2022 direct.

-Fire Emblem Three Hopes
-Mario Strikers
-Nintendo Switch Sports
-Xenoblade 3
-Mario Kart 8 dlc

Other than Xenoblade 3 being known for a longer time, none of the other announcements were leaked or teased by insiders. I’m just saying maybe leakers just aren’t hearing about Nintendo announcements because Nintendo has locked it down a lot more.

I'd be pretty annoyed if they were legitimately games that couldn't run on current hardware, instead of just Pro enhanced games

A whole presentation of "here's some games you can only play if you can get our new hardware that'll undoubtedly run out in seconds" seems a bit scummy
