When will the next Direct air?

I think there is also the fact it's been dated for the PS4 and PS5. So the Switch is the only console that has yet to receive confirmation of a version. And since indies sell very well on the Switch, I guess it's assumed Tunic is unlikely to skip it.

Honestly its pretty simple for me. If Zelda BotW 2 is shown and given a decent amount of new details I will be happy with what ever the direct is called. If Zelda is not there I will be a little upset, but it should show up in a fall direct. If Nintendo waits till Dec/Jan to show the game then that will be a very tiresome wait.

One day Nintendo fans will learn that Geoff doesn't pick the TGA noms and that video game journalism in general doesn't care as much about Xenoblade as they think they should.
 
We need to start remembering that whatever information Nate has comes from third-parties so any time he teases a Direct happening it could be a Mini or Partner Showcase.

Unless they have other news with them or are shadow dropping, I doubt any of those will be on a full Direct either. New announcements will dominate as always.

And this is an E3 time Direct, we'll get more new third party stuff than simple ports.

But I also want to hear about first-party releases, of course. I just highlighted these games because, understandably, this thread seems to gravitate around first-party games already, and I wanted to point out there are other minor announcements pending too.

You could be right. But I think these games, with the exception of Silksong, are ideal for one of those highlight reels that say "Oh, these games are also coming to the Switch soon".

I mean most people were pretty confident that it was a general, just because Nate isn't sure(note not a deconfirmation) doesn't take that away. There is no reason to think next week will be anything but a general
 
But Miyamoto has a underground house directly below Nintendo EPD offices, so he has fast transport. One day he said to Aonuma: hey Eiji, what if you put underground into sequel to botw? Since, you know am living underground man

It's just gonna be a Mario Movie Direct, where they interview Chris Pratt and the rest of the cast.

Twitter today is so fun they should honestly do a Splatoon 3 Direct next week. I can wait one extra week for the general.

The house tour starts. Seems pretty normal.

Miyamoto shows us this gigantic room where he places all his successful products. The invited reporter is looking around in awe starring at all the games and consoles he shaped and helped to create.

In the corner of his eye the reporter sees a half open door that leads to a completely pitch black side room.... suddenly Miyamoto randomly disappears because he has a new idea for a game and vanishes for 3 minutes straight writing it down.

the reporter uses this time and walks slowy into the darkness.... just to find a sad looking stand with the last copy of Wii Music....
As he gets nearer he hears someone behind him laughing maniacally and immediatley afterwards drops unconscious to the ground....

An unexpected cut - the tour ends abruptly and Takahashi greets us. He thanks us for our patience and rewards it with one last thing:

Xenoblade’s constant snubs at TGAs speaks to how different Geoff’s view of what gaming can be (Big budget, Hollywood-esque, Graphical showcases) is different from what many JRPG fans value. I don’t think anyone actually thinks he is upset or actively hates the Xeno series, people are just venting their frustrations via jokes and memes.
