News Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct announced for June 22nd (broadcast over, Expansion Pass confirmed, see threadmarks)

Amazing news! Now we know there will be an extra 20mins allocated to other games in the 40-minute long regular direct at the end of the month!

This reveal might be the biggest insult by a major gaming company in the past decade. I literally screamed "FUCK YOU" at my screen. I knew they said it wasn't going to be a general Direct but the hype they created made me think they were just going to surprise us with it anyway. Absolutely unacceptable to do this to us. Once they knew a general Direct was expected, they should've cancelled the announcement.

so a Xenoblade Direct before the general in a week? That's an interesting strategy. Have fun, Xenoblade fans!

Wonder if they’ll spotlight the voice actors.

Anyways. I want to know about DLC plans as well. Xenoblade 2 had an amazing expansion pass

The ESRB rating for the game includes in-game purchases, so it's pretty likely there's something in the works. XC2's DLC was announced during its Direct, so I wouldn't be surprised to see an XC3 expansion announced on Wednesday. Bundling it with NSO seems like a move they'd make but who knows.
 
Well this was excellent news to wake to. I was expecting a Xenoblade 3 direct in July, if at all. Pleased to see one earlier than I anticipated!

Now I guess the question is going to be if they show a small excerpt from the ending out of context like one of 2's trailers had.

I'm a little surprised at all of the predictions I'm seeing around different places about how this will totally spoil a bunch of the game when I don't remember the XB2 Direct spoiling much of anything. The biggest reveal there was, what, Pyra and Mythra sharing the same body? Which people had already been theorizing about even prior.
 
I'm glad they're doing this and getting it out the way now. I'm not sure why exactly but I really don't like the look of Xenolade 3 even though I liked 1, 2 and X a lot. I think it just looks to oc fanfictioney to me, can't get over that.

Probably because plot and character-wise they have shown off less for XC3 up to this point than XC2. But then again, I see people simultaneously ask what they even can show-off at this point as we already have seen everything, which is an even weirder observation.

I think people are just mad that this isn't a General Direct announcement and as a result try to indirectly flame this announcement as a coping mechanism.

Like I am not even watching this because I want to go in as fresh as possible but I'm very glad XC3 is getting a good marketing push.
 
As someone who doesnt care for xenoblade, i certainly hope there is another general direct soon, but i also understand that covid hit
Game releases hard this year, and there may not be much else later this year besides pokemon and bayonetta, which could each get their own direct.

Is it weird the thing I'm most excited about seeing is equipment? The Xenoblade 2 direct from 2017 had a small section on accessories. That and how passive skills work (are they tied to character or class?)

We should finally be shown how chain attacks work this time around. I'm also thinking it will open with a new trailer like 2's direct that will end on a returning character, most likely Pyra/Mythra.

Nope, I am also mostly here to see some exciting menus (and maybe some details on how the reportedly open world works)

I wouldn't be asking much if I say I want amiibos of the two main characters? It's been a while since the last time we got non smash first party amiibos.

They should be happy knowing that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is not going to be a segment for the inevitable Nintendo Direct.
 
Definitely skipping this. I pre-ordered the SE, I'm going to play the game. There's really no point in watching this if you're already in.

I guess they could announce amiibo, another XC Pro controller, or joy cons in this Direct. Fuck, that'd be sweeeet! And now I'm conflicted, lol. I really don't want to watch, but then....
 
Initially I was thinking about skipping this and then I remembered that I put about 90 hours into Xenoblade 1 when I played it this year and over 200 hours in Xenoblade 2 in between the original and the Torna expansion.

I feel like a 20min Direct is the equivalent of taking a night class to prepare for work. There's so much to learn that I'm trying to get a head start, lol.
 
I'm changing my mind every few minutes, but i gotta admit that it will be really hard for me to skip this. Right now i think reading a summary of the presentation on IGN or whatever before actually watching it would be the wisest decision, but my curiosity might ultimately defeat me
 
Awesome news, but I will probably be among those who will skip it. Xenoblade 3 is one of those games I will buy no matter what, and for games that fall into that category all I watch is the first announcement trailer.

Here's hoping it's a good Direct, though. The franchise's fans deserve it, especially after their immense enthusiasm even took down Nintendo's shop a few days ago.
 
I'm definitely watching this. I rarely care that much about spoilers, but I really like learning more about how a game will play before launch, even if I'm already guaranteed to be getting it day one. It just helps me get more hype I guess
 
Nice! Give Xeno the spotlight it deserves! I am already getting a notebook and pen to to take notes. That battle system seems nuts. (I am loving any minute of it)
