Rumour Fire Emblem 18 - screenshots have been leaked (Reddit) (UPDATE: another screenshot leaked, see OP)

I kind of like the two-tone nature of the MC Red & Blue hair, Red & Blue eyes. Interested to see the Male version and how he is styled in comparison. Gives off the Gust style.

The leaker did say that the hair being like this for the MC is plot relevant. So I imagine the MC will start off with red or blue hair and then get the mix later.

Also the free roaming elements and explorable towns/dungeons in 3D is great

I'd imagine the exact opposite honestly. Having a Dragon parent seems like a "caught between two worlds" scenario to me, represented by the hair and eye color, and the MC's journey will be finding a place they belong, represented by them going all in on one color

Plus FE has kinda been having a route thing lately, so I'd be fairly surprised if it didn't make a return. Fully expecting a Red route and a Blue route here

You can say a lot of things about Ms. Toothpaste but she does have style. Maybe not good style, necessarily, but that does give her one over Byleth

I wonder if this guy is gonna leak anymore screenshots lol. The free-roaming aspects sound incredibly exciting to me, and are basically what I've been saying this whole time about the direction I want the next game to take. Better graphics and art direction + the scope of free-roam exploration described by the leaker + Switch's install base being significantly bigger than when 3H released has me thinking that this game could be even bigger than 3H. 5m+ seller incoming? Either way, I'm intrigued and excited to see a proper reveal!
 
I really don't care about roaming through overworlds/towns/monasteries etc in Fire Emblem games, it's never fleshed out and I'd much rather just get better and more novel and unique combat maps. Three Houses's map design was pretty dire, I just want some maps on the same level of quality as in Conquet again.

Lord at the very least looks very cute lol.

Now that looks much better. I like the Lord, the hair doesn't look that strange anymore. But that outfit is stupid lol.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, hope there is no male version and this is the canon one. The create-a-character units are the worst protagonists in FE history, and Byleth was the worst of both worlds in terms of design. There was neither a canon character, nor was he/she customisable.
 
I feel like FE4 remake is prepared for those who are not fans of FE18 lol.
I can enjoy both.:p
 
Given that Emily initially called the main character a "he" (and this character is uhh... clearly not male if you catch my drift), and the "WWWWWWWW" name given to this character on the support pic, I assume this character doesn't have a set gender and is an "avatar". I'm guessing they'll be more like Shez than Byleth though, aka actually talks and has some semblance of a personality lol.

yeah I imagine they will have a personality, create a character is not inherently bad, Shez and Robin are both cool

Apparently this image of the protagonist leaked from discord this reddit comment is interesting from the leaker on discord apparently named ronin


They're saying the same thing as Emily basically. However they disagree with the fact that the game was finished for a year as it was still in development as of December 2021.
 
I hope they’re wrong and Gust did give us a locked female protag so they could flesh out the characterization. Plus before we went create a character I don’t think any of the single lord games had a female lead did they?

This definitely feels like a console Heroes to me, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If the gameplay is strong, the PvP should draw a strong crowd and satisfy a lot of people.

I don’t have a ton of faith in the campaign, but it’s still early so I won’t fully judge. Definitely think this game will live or die off of its gameplay though.
 
I'm gonna try not to spoil myself for the anticipated reveal trailer in a couple weeks.

But that said, I'm already cracking up at these "Toothpaste" references. Can't wait to see this! 😁

Can't wait to see high quality footage from this game everything so far sounds great and the female MC looks way better than I thought at first

in what way? Everything about this reads like Fates gameplay wise to me with a mix of SOV. The only heroes thing about it is the summoning

Something that confuses me in this post is the apparent smaller hub when the original Reddit leaker said that we would be able to explore the worlld map and towns, dungeons, etc. like in SoV. I guess there's a specific central hub in addition to everything else? Maybe that's where the first leaked pic (that shows Pepsi Dragon Girl from the back) is from?

hahahah, man this is going to be great, even if the game isn't (it will probably be fine).

On the character designs, which I haven't seen yet, I was under the impression that IS likes to roll w/ one designer for multiple games? Thinking Kozaki, so I was assuming the Three Houses designer would be handling this, too. But sounds like its someone else entirely.

I imagine that the central hub is different from the overworld we can explore
 
Man I thought people here would be different but in the last weeks there is nothing but angry and bleak posts. Go play videogames and stop complaining about unannounced games that are shot with a Nokia N95
 
I can’t wait to see the hub and what we can explore. Fire Emblem Three Houses got me into the series because we had the hub=monastery we could walk around in.

Very curious about summoning every lord from past games. At a certain point wouldn’t they be a bit…samey? I’d also hate to see it take away from new characters. I wonder if there’s a limit on how many old ones you can have at once or something.
 
It’s weird how the words “Fire Emblem + Gust” created a mental picture of this game was supposed to look in my head, and this is a match 100%.
It looks exactly like a Gust Fire Emblem would look in my imagination.

I actually rather like the MC's design, it's cute and the hair is cool. It's really just the outfit I don't care for. It doesn't need to be realistically "medieval" - that would be boring, it just needs to have some better coordination and look nicer. Really just ditch the boob armor, the weird skirt-shorts, the garters, and the spike toes on the boots.
