It would be nice if the Portal Collection was at least dated in this Direct. Can't wait to play Portal 1 again and Portal 2 for the first time
Oh you're in for a treat with Portal 2. It's one of the best sequels to a game out there. Not the longest game, but at the price this bundle's at it's more than worth it.

If you can, get someone to play the co-op campaign with you as well. It's just as good as the singleplayer in terms of gameplay.

This rumored Nintendo Direct on June 29th might be the biggest insult by a major gaming company in the past decade. I literally screamed "FUCK YOU" at my screen. I knew it wasn't set in stone that they do Direct at "E3" week but the hype they created made me think they were just going to surprise us with it anyway. Absolutely unacceptable to do this to us. Once they knew Direct was expected at that time, they should've just done it.

And no, I will not shut up with this beautiful copypasta from 2020.

Had me going for a second there lmao

I remember in 2020 on era when everyone was going crazy and partner showcases were happening, someone said something like "isn't this essentially gaslighting at this point??" And it's like, uhhh, no??

Plum's post from above is legendary.

I finished playing StarTropics for the first time not too long ago. What a weird little game that one is. But it's still fun enough.
That post needs to be enshrined because it’s amusing AF and accurate AF. And if we can’t poke fun at ourselves then why are we even here?

In 2 weeks we will see Botw 2 again so i don't mind waiting.

Isn't it kinda sus they are placing it so close to the shareholder meeting. Maybe they will announce a revision in the direct even though they never really do that.

They're getting loosey goosey with the rules this time around. They might even let Doug Bowser say "fuck" in this direct.

Alright so yesterday when vibes were low I had an idea to lift things up in in here...

Quote reply to this message with your favorite memory of a Direct Announcement. Be specific: where were you when you were watching, how many tears did you shed, what were your Direct snacks?

I’ll randomly pick one of the (valid) replies tomorrow (Saturday) morning and gift them an eshop game of their choosing, $20 max! (or I suppose credit if a code isn't possible) Include the game you’d be hoping to grab with it in your reply to give the devs some love :)

I know I missed this, but I wanted to throw my two cents. My favorite Direct memory was November 2015. It was the first one after Iwata's passing. I knew I was going to be late to class by ~20 minutes but I was sticking with this direct until the end. Well at the very end Nintendo drops the "Cloud is coming to Smash" bomb and I lost it. I was trying to hold my emotions inside.

I get ready to leave the computer lab and some random guy next to me turns and goes "Holy shit, I did not see that coming" Dude was watching the same direct right next to me and I never noticed lol.

A full reveal of BotW 2 please.... and while we are at it a new 2D/3D Mario announcement and/or Donkey Kong.

I also wouldn't rule out a Metroid Prime 4 teaser if they announce the remake/remaster of the first one.

I have it on pretty good Intel that the direct won't happen for another two weeks (my homie Elmo told me) but there's still this little compulsion in my brain to check Twitter in 20 minutes, so

I think I'd love to see some sort of platformer from Nintendo in the direct. I don't care if that's 2D or 3D but something in the vein of a new Mario, DK, Wario Land etc. would be very welcome. Hope to see the new FE as well as new BoTW2 footage and Metroid.

Beyond that my wishlist is pretty consistent:
Pikmin 4, Mario Turn-Based RPG, Dragon Quest stuff.

I replayed Pikmin 3 on the Switch last year and it reminded me what a masterpiece it is.... and since then all I can do is hope and dream about a fourth entry. 😔

Nate was the one who specified that it was an FE4 remake developed internally at IS in the first place. Emily never said who it was developed by, or even what game was being remade. All she acknowledged was that an in-development remake exists.

Personally, I'm hoping both games are being mainly developed internally at IS (with the former having Gust support ofc), and that 3H's development structure was a one-off project due to IS not having enough resources at the time or something. Given that Gust is still a KT studio anyway, it's still possible/likely for Nate's info to be accurate imo, including his remake info (FE4, developed fully by IS, ambitious, realistic/mature artstyle, etc.).
I can see it going either way, but I'm personally leaning towards Emily

Asthma? At your age? Do you still get episodes /attacks?
I have exercise-induced asthma so they don't come out of the blue, and I know how to pace myself with exercise, but if I'm in intense emotional distress or push myself too far or something, it definitely triggers an attack
Yeah, the grindy portions towards the late part of the game are what keeps me from saying it's a masterpiece.
Getting nervous as I only just know got out of the pyramid and I've been thinking the game is a masterpiece so far...hopefully the endgame doesn't sour me on the experience!

In terms of activity at Intelligent Systems, it makes sense that at least one of these two rumoured games would have heavy involvement from KT. It's possible the Three Houses team was reassembled - same lead staff from IS, some of the same studios from KT - but with extra assistance from Gust. It's not unreasonable we're looking at a bigger budget production this time out.

It's also feasible that alongside that, Intelligent Systems do now have the resources to develop their own remake, presumably with some outsourcing to contractors. With Origami King wrapping up in spring 2020 and WarioWare launching in 2021, a lot of IS staff would've been freed up over that 12 month period. Perhaps they joined the leads of Shadows Of Valentia, who haven't cropped up for a while, and an FE4 remake finally entered full production.

Why am I here waiting for 10am when I KNOW the direct isn't for another 16 days? And today is a Monday? Absolute clown shoes lmao

Love y'all though

It’ll be interesting to see what a Direct at the end of the month means for its contents.

On one hand they’re kind of going on last, which may raise expectations from fans because the wait is longer than usual. They’re also coming at the end of this massive gaming news wave, and you don’t want to end with a whimper - if you’re a bit lighter on content it would’ve been better to be in the middle maybe because fans would’ve moved on.

On the other hand, it’s Nintendo. It probably doesn’t mean anything other than that for whatever reason they didn’t want to be part of this current series of events and wanted some distance.

Yeah, you haven't reached the part I consider to be grindy yet. Hopefully your experience will be different! Personally, I never know if my evaluation of certain RPGs being grindy is correct because overall I suck at the genre, so I usually have to level up more than the average player.

Glad you are loving it! Welcome to the club!

Yeah it sucks one can never exercise normally because it only takes a few minutes before you're out of breath, your lungs hurt and you feel like you're going to die. And people never belive you either, they think you are exaggerating.

Luckily since before I hit puberty I've only had two attacks. One time I had a really bad flu and it triggered an attack. The other time I was exercising heavily and I moved under where the AC was and that combination of the cold with my body heat gave me one too.

I know most people stop getting attacks when they hit puberty, but I stopped having them before. I don't if it just happened or if it was thanks to a natural concoction my grandmother gave me from a fruit that only grows in some places of the world. My nephew also suffers from asthma, I should try the concoction with him and see if it really works.

Also, do you know the trick to breathe better when you're having an attack? You apply pressure on a certain part of your throat and it helps a lot. If you don't know, I can show you an image of the location.

It's one of those things that's impossible to know! One thing I would say though... with BotW2 "pencilled in" for around March 2023, so 9 months away, I would not be surprised if they delayed the entire Direct a couple of weeks in order to marry up with the BotW2 development cycle and get a new trailer into the Direct.

I mean, BotW2 is surely going to feature, right?

And Goldeneye...

I should share the date to make people here feel joy? No.

I sat on the date because it can put partners in jeopardy. My contacts are more important that the small community of never satisfied, constantly angry, pessimistic folks that gather here. If someone else happens to leak the date, I can then confirm the date since the information is out there. There's nothing to protect.

Look at how many latched on to June 15 for the Direct. Did I? Nope. Why? Because it was never that date. If this window was wrong, then, I would have said it didn't match what I was hearing, too.

I've implied "late June" since May.

This forum has had members attack myself and Emily. Do you think we can't just leave or stopped sharing? Test us. You'll lose.
Why would anyone attack either you or Emily is beyond me. The community is lucky to have you both, and I'm not saying that with regards to the leaks - both your presences are great to any discussion or themes.

Y'know what'd be cool, if Nintendo started teasing the next wave of Mario Kart DLC, they actually did this for the Wii U DLC. So like, imagine if tomorrow they just reveal a track, alongside a screenshot of it, then next week, they reveal another the same way, I think it'd be cool to know like two or three of the tracks going into the next Direct where we'd get the full reveal (and hopefully release) of the wave

You all need to calm down and play games. Also, clearly something sus on. Persona 5, 3, 4 have been announced for all platforms except Switch, including Silksong, as well as the fact that Sony knows about this presentation. Clearly something is up that it is literally a July Direct.

So I guess we’ll get Pokémon snap before the direct. Wonder if we’ll get the NSO n64 roadmap 2 before too
I could see them doing that. Hopefully we get a road map again. That is so much nicer than the random game surprise.

So if the Direct airs in late June, does this mean that the September direct will air later as well? I mean having a direct in what is basically July and followed up by one in Early to mid September feels like it would be a quick turn around between directs, no?

My prediction is no September direct. They’ll do a random October reveal trailer for the next Switch, do a presentation in January, and launch it with BotW2 sometime before next June.

I think the September Direct mostly depends on TGS's timing. Last year's September Direct was in late September as well, though a week before TGS iirc

That tip for breathing better sounds great, and I'm not familiar with it so please feel free to share! Thank you!

Glad your attacks have calmed down since puberty. Mine too, definitely.

Alright folks, I haven't had a chance to read through every reply quite yet, but I didn't want to leave you hanging. With 22 unique replies (thanks to @bellydrum for making this easy for me by pulling a list of the replies!)... we've got a winner (selected randomly to keep things fair)!

My favourite direct announcement with forever be the 1-2 punch of Banjo in smash into BoTW. I had work at my campus job all the way up until the direct time. So as soon as it ended I sprinted out and found a seat on nice shades bench and watched the entire thing on my phone. It was a pretty good direct even before the end so I was already in a good mood before the finale.

I did in fact have to choke back a few tears seeing Banjo again. Those original games will always mean so much to me so seeing that trailer felt like a tribute to something I have long adored. It was particularly nice to see after I assumed they knocked out smash after revealing Hero (another favorite announcement). But nothing could have prepared me for Zelda. The moment I realized it was a Zelda game I was through the fucking roof. Is it DLC what is this? Then to end the spooky, mysterious trailer with a reveal of a new game!? I had to keep my cool because I was ready to absolutely go off in public I was so hyped. I have only experienced such hype when watching my favorite sports teams with huge games. That's how good that duo of announcements felt lol.

As for the gift card, I'd love to put it toward Mario strikers!

Congratulations @Bobo! Funny enough the first reply and you won, I'll DM ya the eShop code later this afternoon. Enjoy!

I know pikmin 3 isn't particularly long but it is one of the few games I have 100% completed. In fact I did it on release for Wii U and again for Switch. I love exploring around pikmin worlds and just hanging with my little buds.
