This direct is fake, I know because I did it and send to some friends as my "dream june direct". Seems that someone posted in 4chan lol
BTW, I'm not creative with names and stole "a light from the past" name from this forum.

Tekken 7 ran pretty oddly to begin with, but I chalk that up to it being an early UE4 title from Bamco. if it was a later title, like Tales of Arise, it would probably run much better.
It's a baffling fact that none of Tekken games get ported/remastered/remade. No collections, no HD/Online versions of older titles, nothing. First three titles are stuck on PS1, Tag-4-5 on PS2 and 6 & Tag 2 are on HD platforms. It's past time we had a Tekken re-release. Preferably on Switch too.

The Korean list is pretty reasonable actually, if a tad heavy on the licensed games. Armored Core and P4G for Switch is cute though.

Tekken 2 gets released always for PS collections Lol other than that yep

It was also on PS Classic Mini and PS1 classics on PSP/PS3. Doesn't count, needs more for a re-release. Online play, widescreen etc.

If it was up to me, I'd HD remaster 4-5-Tag1. 4 still stands as the best game in the series and still holds up today (and made me a Marduk main).

I doubt any new AC game were in development alongside Elden Ring. That title doesn't sound like a port of an older game but that would have been possible.

We haven’t had a brand new 2D platformer from Nintendo since…2019 (Metroid Dread isn’t considered a 2D platformer).

Over 3 years and counting.
This is expected between 2D Mario/DK being MIA for years , Kirby going 3D and Yoshi being a once per generation thing

This'll be the "fucking 2D games" Direct, when Nintendo strike back with 2D Wario Land, 2D Mario, and 2D DK.**

**may not happen
Honestly I’m here for it. Just finished my first play through of DK: Tropical Freeze. Such a good game, I love the extra challenge you get from the temples.

If another mario platformer is coming, I hope they move away from the nsmb style.. its getting old and i never likes how floaty everything felt

100% agree. That’s representing the Wii/DS era. Move on already. I don’t like the music. Artstyle is just fine. Floatiness is something I don’t care for in Mario. I have expectations from the mainline Mario franchise.

This plus a 2D Zelda and that Direct would be a dream come true.... though a new 2D Zelda probably won't happen this year at least, unfortunately

My bold prediction is Elden Ring for Switch as the newest impossible native port. That's the kind of game I think Nintendo is willing to throw some money at for a port.
Nintendo if it’s paying for ports again (which they havent in a while ) would probably just wait for Drake to release and make Elden Ring a launch title. Current Souls engine that started with DS3 can’t run on the Switch in it’s current state and ER has already huge performance issues in PS4/XboxOne

I can't imagine how bad it'll look and how poorly it'll run
That's never stopped anyone before!

Was the last one they paid for the Witcher 3? I feel like Elden Ring became big enough to get high on their list of games to actively go after. Nothing really since then has been that big.

I'm not sure. A port of that caliber could take years to do. If they start now it might come out by the time Nintendo reveals the next platform. A cheaper port for that console sounds more plausible.

I think Nintendo will chip in more Rockstar remasters/ports for Switch. Cheaper but bigger impact. I'd put my money on RDR or GTA4 remaster for this fall.

Agreed - I don’t think we’ll see elden ring until nintendo releases their next gen console.. whenever that may be

This would be one of the best directs ever

I thought CDPR explicitly said Nintendo helped cover the development/porting cost? Or maybe that was accomplished just through covering the distribution?
don't know, I don't remember any news piece about Nintendo paying for dev costs for Witcher specifically

So you’re saying it couls be announced and then get delayed twice and then completely vanish from the face of the Earth?

I wouldn’t wish that on poor Wario lol

If we ever get a Waluigi Land game, I could absolutely that timeline for the Purple guy.

I just want a 3D World/Forgotten Land type of DK game. Straight 2D would legitimately disappoint me
Donkey Kong 3D Country, mainly developed by NST studio (thats why it leaked so early) but lead management are a tiny group of EPD Tokyo employees.

Wario Land 5, made by Good-Feel.

I've never understood how it makes a difference in the end. As a distributor Nintendo is buying however many thousands of copies of the game and somehow that isn't being taken into account with a project's budget?

Yeah it can effectively be the same thing assuming they sign a contract to that effect when they first agree on the port.

Either way they helped pay for it.

I wonder what a normal 2D DK game would look like without Retro at the helm. Would it just be 2D Mario with DK enemies and powerups?

Didn't they help distribute GTA collection?

Got Thursday off for the State of Play, got Sunday off for the Xbox show, just need the Direct to be on the 14th and I'll be set.

So last year when they announced Metroid Dread at their June Direct preorders for the limited edition and amiibo went up almost immediately. I wonder if they’ll put the Xenoblade 3 Limited Edition on sale following a trailer / treehouse showing at the next Direct. Really worried it’s going to be a disaster as it’s locked to their website this time.
