So how is this game. Feels like it came and went. And I Don’t think it was a Elden ring thing. The original had a long discussion even with BOTW.
Might just be because it’s a sequel. The element of surprise is gone which matters a lot in talks.
I should play the first. Got it for 5 bucks with all the DLC lol
Now dig on this
Yall ever have that thing happen where you spend a year pouring blood, sweat, and tears into rebuilding a car, sell it, then a few years later you find your actual car online (plate matching and all) but the new owner has twincharged it and now it makes over 1100 horsepower? That's weird when that happens, huh?
Sounds nice. I do the opposite, I tend to sell my cars before I even get a chance to drive them.Actually no, I drive my cars until they die. So never sold one

To be fair in this case it’ll likely be the same writing team as both were developed at KT. Plus wasn’t Persona 5 Strikers received well? Not to mention we do have the 3 separate timelines/endings thing depending on which house you choose mechanic confirmed back so you’ve got 3 chances.I still can't decide whether or not I'll buy Three Hopes.
On the one hand, it's the Three Houses' cast and they seem to have integrated a lot of 3H mechanics into the game.
But on the other hand, I'm worried about how they'll handle the story after Age of Calamity. Although Three Hopes is a reimagining of the original story, I'm not sure they'll deliver anything half as good as what we had with Three Houses.
Can I finish my second Black Eagles playthrough and do a Blue Lions one before Three Hopes hits? Or will I get distracted by a different game again?
See I always thought it was to show that Anakin's hubris got the best of him. Obi-Wan said not to try it, he tried it, and he just didn't get quite high enough. Anakin was undone by his arrogance, which is exactly what three whole films have been building up to.
No, it doesn't hold up if you see all the Force jumpery that had been going on prior, but as a story beat it's dead-on. Yes, that explanation is just "because plot," but it wouldn't be the first time Lucas' stories because-plot'ed all over the place.
I may be a bit pessimistic when it comes to Musou games, Age of Calamity disappointed me a bit. I just hope they had the budget to make a good story and great variety of maps.To be fair in this case it’ll likely be the same writing team as both were developed at KT. I mean I’m in and I didn’t play 3 houses XD
That's some serious yinning and yanging. I love it.My wife is from rural USA so she knows cars a lot better than I do, and thus gets to do all the car stuff. Which allows me to keep up my image as a snobby inner city European who doesn't know what a car is, and I love her for it.
Shouldn't have tried posting. It was over, Irene. We already had the high ground talkscrolls thread
Oh shit, I missed high ground talk!
Little late to the discussion, but I totally agree that it works wonders as a plot point to demonstrate Anakin's arrogance.
* laughs in drift *What an absolute embarrassment the Monaco Grand Prix has been. Apparently race cars don’t work in the rain!
Also because of Obi’s surgeon-like precision in cutting off three of Anakin’s limbs with one swipe. You see, I think you put more effort into thinking about it than George Lucas did. He probably just needed a way to end the battle so he had Obi-Wan get on the high ground because it's usually the better position to be in during the battle. I doubt he was trying to call back to the Darth Maul fight. The reason why the scene is ridiculous because you just spent the last 20 minutes watching the both of them jump really high place to place.
Good morning all. It's a bad day health wise, so my carefully laid plans to go to a museum downtown are shot, but I'll find things I enjoy and potter about the apartment.
How we all doing?
The story was very mixed. The demo actually put me off from buying it.To be honest this is the first time I have seen people complain about AoC, I thought it was quite well-liked outside of performance issues?
It’s doing 3 different story lines so the player inclusion stuff is less restricted. They introduced a new character to allow for greater divergences too. Unlike AOC there’s no timeline issues to work around. Only question is will they allow a golden route this time. And will they let us kill Byleth. Most of Age of Calamity’s story issues can be traced back to them wanting to make both a prequel to BotW but also a fanservice-laden game that lets you play as all of the characters and doesn’t really affect BotW (or its sequel). I’ve written down my thoughts on it before but I think it mostly succeeds at this balancing act. But it’s also no surprise that some people came away disappointed depending on how they approached it. Three Hopes should hopefully not have those restrictions.
I think there are a subset of people who expected something quite different to what they actually got, plotwise - not unreasonably so, given the reveal - and therefore it didn't gel with them.To be honest this is the first time I have seen people complain about AoC, I thought it was quite well-liked outside of performance issues?
That's a shame; but keep trucking with it!Hopefully you’ll find something to enjoy.
I’m alright, sinking yet another day into GBG, really on a roll. No comments yet on Reddit about my latest game, but the community is pretty much dead :/

Besides some complaints about the story I think it's generally pretty well received. To be honest this is the first time I have seen people complain about AoC, I thought it was quite well-liked outside of performance issues?
Exhausted from a big day in the sun yesterday holding 50 lbs of baby and baby gear, now have another day of baby carrying and a wedding later.Good morning all. It's a bad day health wise, so my carefully laid plans to go to a museum downtown are shot, but I'll find things I enjoy and potter about the apartment.

That's what killed it for me. If it had been marketed as a "fanservice-y musou romp through the events 100 years before BOTW that will mess with the timeline and get wacky but let you have fun with lots of characters, and it'll change things, not be serious and mostly just be a fun time" kinda thing, then I wouldn't have minded (because I probably wouldn't have bought it, lol). The story was very mixed. The demo actually put me off from buying it.
It was sold as a prequel. But it’s really not a prequel. Which is a huge shame cause the direction they went had less potential then doing a serious prequel.
Honestly, while a prequel would have been cool, I think it would’ve been a significantly smaller game. I’m glad we got what we got instead. Most of Age of Calamity’s story issues can be traced back to them wanting to make both a prequel to BotW but also a fanservice-laden game that lets you play as all of the characters and doesn’t really affect BotW (or its sequel). I'm still a little annoyed at what could have been, but I'm mostly over it now. I don't fault the game for what it is, it's just not at all what I wanted.
You're probably right. The musou-style of mowing down hordes of enemies and feeling like a god doesn't mesh too well with colossal failure, death, and tragedy.Tbh, a Musou like what we initially expected would have been kinda shit. Should have been a "proper" action RPG if they wanted to do a story like that
