Wait, if I pose it as a yes or no question, you’ll tell me???
Goodbye Scomo.Too early to call but looks like we’re going to have a new Prime Minister and kick our right wing government to the curb. Happy times.
That sucks if you're thinking about getting a new one, you should buy the M1 Macbook air while you can; the rumored design for the new Macbook Air is awful, unless you like a white keyboard and white screen boarders.I think my 2017 Macbook Air is on its way out. I keep missing more and more letters when typing, something that never happens on my work device.
They're usually the culprit. One of mine gave us all a norovirus.I’ve got a cold again after just getting over one a couple weeks ago. I blame my kid for this.
What did you play? My son got so into Mario Kart he made us do a course draft, so we had all the courses planned out for our game time. It’s been 65 and sunny here, which is perfect so most of the weekend will be spent outside.Just had a wine and game night with my partner, now it's time for JIMMY JOOOOOOOHNS
Saturday is over anyway. Time to start planning Sunday!Running out of things to do on this Saturday. I’m down to only two choices:
-Play a vidya game
-Do literally anything else
Oh that's awesome. That sounds like such a fun time! What did you play? My son got so into Mario Kart he made us do a course draft, so we had all the courses planned out for our game time. It’s been 65 and sunny here, which is perfect so most of the weekend will be spent outside.
That’s great. Been playing a lot of Machi Koro since that’s perfect for my son’s age. Will be excited when he can get into a few more advanced things as he gets older. I will have to check that game out since both of those things are in my wheelhouse.Oh that's awesome. That sounds like such a fun time!
We played a board game we just got called Horrified, which turned out to be a blast. Made me think of Zombies Ate My Neighbors + X-Files.
The era of NWC homage indie games is upon us, rejoice.Just started Songs of Conquest tonight and played through the first campaign map in about an hour. Game is legit.
Very interesting what they're doing with this. So far there's some clear cherry picking from the various heroes games in terms of mechanics. Like the hero growth seems to be more involved than the early games in the series (I think it got a lot more complex in the Ubiverse) and there's also the turn order display at the bottom like in Heroes V. But then we get these glorious hexes in the combat like in 2 and 3 (see spoiler) which were absent from later games because reasons.
However! They're also doing their own thing like army composition feeding into the magic system (each unit stack generates different colors of mana and you have a finite number of slots for unit stacks) so the combat plays out like the standard HoMM tactics stuff but the magic layer is more akin to a CCG (ie. MtG / Hearthstone) now. That they're also doing things like capping the number of units in a stack makes me think they're very aware of how the original NWC design encouraged some really weird player behavior like putting all your troops in one hero and having the rest of your heroes do nothing more than ferry units to the front lines. And we have multiple levels of elevation and destructible obstacles on the battlefied and that just feels so so much like something we would've seen in Heroes IV if it had been a direct contination of the lineage instead of a complete rewrite for some reason.
The writing so far is pretty standard fantasy stuff, maybe a little more Game of Thrones and po-faced than NWC's style which was definitely standard fantasy but also a little less serious or downright goofy at times.
I don't think this is going to replace Heroes 2/3/5 for the grognards but it is a fascinating alternative and likely will become a very worthy entry in the genre. I'm absolutely happy for this team and giddy to see where this game goes with the rest of the Early Access period and beyond.
Unfortunately right now this isn't on Switch. It's available for PC/Mac on Steam/GOG (not sure about EGS) for $30 and it's largely content complete as best I can tell as far as the single player is concerned. Online multiplayer might be a different story but online TBS seems like a good exercise in frustration unless you can play asynchronously.
And if you haven't played a Heroes of Might & Magic game before, do yourself a favor and drop $10 on GOG for one of the first four games.

Not Subway?Just had a wine and game night with my partner, now it's time for JIMMY JOOOOOOOHNS
Played some more XenoblaDE and Dunban’s finally over here. Gonna have to figure out how to juggle 4 party members now.
I hope you get the chance to see it; it was fantastic, one of the coolest films I've seen recently! This sounds glorious. I'll hopefully get around to watching it this week; there's a really good cinema with a bar where I am but it's awkward to get to by public transport (can't drive with my condition wahey), so I'll probably go to a cinema downtown on an easier bus route. Might get round to watching Dr Strange on IMAX at some point too.
it was like a titan sneezing in my part of the city but apparently everyone else lost power and three people died???Not sure if this is a real thunderstorm in Toronto or if someone is just turning super Saiyan for the first time.
Try playing as some other characters and making teams based on that. Switch characters whenever you get bored.Played some more XenoblaDE and Dunban’s finally over here. Gonna have to figure out how to juggle 4 party members now.
I'm not sure he's the BEST character in the game, but he's probably my favorite. He's a blast to play and/or to make into an evasion tank, and Blossom Dance as the final piece of a chain attack does A TON of damagePlayed some more XenoblaDE and Dunban’s finally over here. Gonna have to figure out how to juggle 4 party members now.

I'm quite happy with mine (i was using a gaming laptop from 2017) and the battery life on this thing is amazing.
If this is AoT spoilers imma be pissedit was like a titan sneezing in my part of the city but apparently everyone else lost power and three people died???
The secret is that Sharla sucks, but I don't think the tanks are up to snuff when you first get Dunban in order for you to forgo a healer (plus I was bad enough at XCDE that I never really could manage without a healer)Played some more XenoblaDE and Dunban’s finally over here. Gonna have to figure out how to juggle 4 party members now.

I hope we in the UK can join you in a few years...Waking up to find that our hard-right, climate change denying, LGBTQ+ hating government of 9 years has been kicked out on its arse.
As with every PC game that looks interesting :
the urge of buying it right now vs. patiently waiting for the Switch version
This game specifically I'm not sure how you adapt it to console easily. I know it's possible since there was a GBC port of HoMM 2 and PS2 got a re-imagining of King's Bounty, but the obvious choice of making everything direct input vs the immediacy of the mouse seems like it would be incredibly tedious. Maybe with the Switch you'd also have the touch screen as an option?Coffee Stain doesn't have a very good history with console, wherever it's their own games (Sanctum, Goat Simulator, Satisfactory) or published games (Valheim, Midnight Ghost Hunt, Songs of Conquest, Deep Rock Galactic) so don't count on it.
