I tried making myself but it never turned out right. Turns out character creators are good at shaved head white guys in the mid 30s but not great at making some that is biracial with some Asian and White features. I eventually settled on an acceptable level of ugly and just got on with the game.
 
Using the BDSP GWS to fish for Spinda lol, filling in the map is fun, and it's nice you get rare candies for it.

Though there seems to be some spoofing going on since I've traded with 4 different Antarcticans a lol.

From my memories, I can say that the Master System presence in the market was much bigger - there were almost no nintendo kids in my circle of friends. SNES was much more present, just not officially, as the grey market was firing on all cylinders

For sure; I got my SNES fairly late (the N64 was already out; and my system was refurbished), but SEGA fever was everywhere,.. Though I do remember seeing Nintendo commercials on TV and printed ads; I even got to see a legit NES at a neighbor's house a couple of years earlier, and not one of the Gradiente's Famiclones.

As I said, Nintendo did what they could with their distributing partners in the country, but they came in way too late, and the conversation was all about SEGA. Thankfuly (?), SEGA's later consoles were such a mess, that they were dropped quickly and Nintendo finally became more of a respectable presence alongside the PlayStation 1.

Funnily enough, I actually got to buy a Tec-Toy's SEGA Saturn when I started collecting lol

And after Fox, no one wants to keep the movie/TV business they own. AT&T spun WB off with a merger with Discovery and now Comcast wants to this. I don't blame them but couldn't they find a better company to merge NBCUniversal with? EA is just not stable.

I've been listening to the soundtracks a lot and it's made me wonder: Do I wait until Nintendo's announced a new Donkey Kong game to replay the SNES trilogy, or do I try to will a new game into existence by diving back into them nowish?

I think it has been bad throughout this generation, with flare ups any time Jim Ryan is publicly shitty or any time Microsoft has to delay a major release. It’s what happens when you have two decently configured consoles and an inability for almost anyone to have both.

We like to try and make Nate/Emily/etc. feel like they can give us exciting hints and whatnot without being under heavy scrutiny where someone can say "On Friday, 5/20, NateDrake said xyz and that hasn't happened in a year and a half lol fraud". But we all love speculation and teases and hope for some exciting news soon!

As a fan of both Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space

The latter is great, but it ain’t no RE 4

RE 4 has

  • More hammy characters
  • Awesome bossfights like El Gigante, Del Lago, Verdugo, It, Krauser

  • Awesome setting

Yea, the DS Pokemon games are worth a pretty penny, but Soul Silver and Heart Gold has been stupid high for few years. The nostalgia for that generation is amazingly strong.

Hopefully Gamefreak ports Gold/Silver to the Switch on day.

Does anyone know if there's any games featuring DK currently released in China? I'm wondering if this is for a Tropical Freeze localization.

I need to check my parents' house next time I'm out there, I think there's still some old N64 and SNES game boxes in storage? It'd be cool to see what's still kicking around.

They want to be bought/merged but still retain a lot of their independency it seems, if Nintendo bought EA it would strengthen their ‘unprecedented partnership’ from 0.1 to 10.

They filed for Minish Cap and Metroid Zero Mission like a month ago too.

I think it's for Mario Strikers.

They also registered 碧姬 several days ago, which is the translation for Princess Peach in Hong Kong and Taiwan. But in Mainland China, the previous translation is 桃花, so this is a new translation for Mainland China as well.

Maybe they are going to change the localisations of these characters in the coming Mario Strikers.

Pretty sure China got DKC Returns a few years ago on the Nvidia Shield. Tropical Freeze released in Hong Kong and Taiwan, but not China, as far as I can tell.
