Gang it's Friday, which means that this evening, I will start replaying the Mass Effect trilogy for the first time in 9 or 10 years. Woop woop.

This is funny because I don't think anyone was expecting anything else

I don't know much about Chinese but wouldn't "Dong Qigong" be pronounced "Dong Chee Gong?"
Correct and the o in both Dong and Gong is not like you would say it in English either. I find it hard to describe/compare it to english words so my tip would be to make google translate read it for you if you just type in Dong for example.
Edit: Oh woops, it's Dong Qigang tho, not gong. In gang the a is pronounced like the u in run.

After a year and a half with a few drop-offs, I finished Ring Fit Adventure. I need time to sit with it, but I might be able to say this game has quite literally changed my life...

I have a habit of checking all the other threads and saving General for last whenever I get on FB, which means I just giddily posted about TriTri in the RPG ST only to come over here and find yall have been on it for hours. 😅

I was always a Nintendo kid, despite my first console being a Master System, and I can share my exposure for all things SEGA here in Brazil was something else.. Tec-Toy really made a terrific job on expanding the audience and getting games acessible to most (whereas Nintendo, while they eventually adopted a similar approach, it was way too late to make any impact on the market);

And in the Genesis (or Mega Drive) gen, we got stuff like... Duke Nukem 3D, Show do Milhão (adaptation of a popular TV show) and a terrible Woody Woodpecker game that other countries didn't get.. these games were being pumped out as far as the early 2000's.

By the way, there's always the tale of the localization as well... since Phantasy Star was fully translated to Brazilian Portuguese on the Master System by Tec-Toy with no assistence by SEGA; and only now on Switch we're getting our first translated games by Nintendo ;P
It is quite interesting to look back at TecToy's output in Brazil for both the Master System and the Mega Drive. I kinda have more memories of Master System exclusives, like the Chapolim and Turma da Monica re-skins, but the Mega Drive was certainly there as well.
From my memories, I can say that the Master System presence in the market was much bigger - there were almost no nintendo kids in my circle of friends. SNES was much more present, just not officially, as the grey market was firing on all cylinders

Spoiler alert, bro! I start with General and then work my way through the other threads. Now I already know what you posted. 😢

As a mecha fan this is straight up awesome

For non mecha fans, the guy who did this and a ton of other stuff

He also did Goemon’s great adventure’s theme that was cut from the western release

Not my mom texting me just now a Hard Drive article that says Mario Kart will no longer feature female drivers because of the Saudi Arabia investment and believing it.
I saw that article recommended to me on my Google feed, seems some people don't know what Hard Drive is.

I can't believe we haven't heard about this in over 1.5 years.

Hope they didn't run into dev issues.
If Nintendo has decided to be involved in any way to the game, it makes sense for the game to have no news, that would mean new material or footage could only be shown by Nintendo if that's the case . And in the case of 'smaller' games like this Nintendo only announces them really close to release. I hope Nintendo is involved because if not we may not see the game outside of Japan (I'm not saying they are publishing the game but helping with marketing/distribution)

Excitement for Live Alive is also tempered by anxiety at the impending glut of releases I want to buy and how little time and energy there is for it all. Woop woop

Yeah, I was really interested to see what this was. Good-Feel should emerge with something at some point, but their rate of output for "full games" (not development assistance or ports) has them launching stuff roughly every four years. They shipped the Epic Yarn 3DS port, Crafted World, and Monkey Barrels in 2019; so maybe 2023 is their next year and they ship several things then.

If Nintendo got involved somehow that would explain a few things. It's not impossible but I somehow doubt it because they specifically wanted to get into self publishing. I don't think Good-Feel should have much trouble getting the game out of Japan either, since they managed with Monkey Barrels as well.

A modern Goemon-like with full backing by Nintendo would be nice, however. Good-Feel deserves it.

Inb4 it’s Nintendo backed and the delay is because they licensed Goemon for it

I believe this game was part of their self publishing plan

With Nintendo help I meant helping with the marketing of the game in the West with a marketing deal (so it would be shown in a Direct) and distribute the game in the West physically (which they did before for Switch games not published by them). Good-Feel would still be the publisher

It's possible Monkey Barrels didn't do the numbers Good-Feel expected; or it's possible somebody at Nintendo took a real interest in the new game and offered to take it on; it's possible it's simply taking longer than planned.

All I know is my gut says maybe.

(Futurama references aside, I do really want to see what Good-Feel are up to and I want it to turn out well)

same, but not having touched three houses still yet 😰😰😰
I still have to play one of the houses campaign. I thought I would get to do that before the release of three hopes, but as I just started playing Xenoblade 1 (intend to finish before 3 releases), I don't think I'll be able to do that.
