Alan Wake finally getting confirmed without a release date is a nice microcosm of how "big publishers" treat Switch. Yes, you can have a game, at some point, after everyone else, and we won't say when.

Do we already have the Q&A section of the investor meeting with the president and the rest of the board of directors available? I am unable to find it this time, not even on twitter where it is usual to find questions and answers in threads created by David Gibson (if I remember correctly).

It normally takes a few days, sometimes up to a week, for the English transcript. And it's often better to wait for the transcript because the Twittersphere and dodgy translations before that give out sensationalist takes (see VGC's recent reporting just this week).

People are acting like this is not a problem but it's not the case, sadly. Market didn't have mercy on PS3 and Vita. You have to support your system with a healthy flow of first party releases. The brand name has very little effect.

PS4 sold really well on 2014 and it didn't have any remarkable third-party games, let alone exclusives / first-party. On top of that the console didn't even have BC, so for many people that year was super dry.

As long as PS5 / XS get their yearly FIFA, or whatever EA's soccer game is called now, they don't anything have to worry about. Even if COD doesn't make it this year, FIFA will sell many systems (don't forget there is a World Cup at the end of this year).

iPads are awesome, unfortunatly to me they can't still replace a laptop; i really wanted to replace my gaming laptop and iPad Mini 5 for a Ipad Pro, but apple insists on keeping mac os on it's laptops.
So, i did the logical thing, and i sold my gaming laptop and iPad mini and bought a Macbook air! I'm really happy with it, altough i miss having a smaller tablet for some cases; but then again, i don't miss having to always wipe out the screen everytime i use it, even when using a stylus with it (it would get dirty or anything, but i have seeing a screen needing to be clean).

word on the street is that they're gonna fix the "iPadOS is still a mobile OS" problem at WWDC next month! window-based multiasking, etc. Might be M1 iPads only though? We'll see.

That said, for me, I work on computers all day every day, but my work sorta requires a desktop. What I want out of a mobile computer is "couch usability" which the iPads have in spades. I just wanna read/browse/shop/doodle/video call/occasionally photo/video edit (Lumafusion is incredible on iOS/iPadOS) that kinda thing. Nothing major at all.

I’m fine with digital in every other avenue basically (though with streaming rights and whatnot, that could get problematic). Just have zero trust in the console platform holders (minus Microsoft I guess) or major publishers not locking stuff out or removing stuff.

I think it will happen, especially since Nintendo accounts work with their mobile games, online store, and services. None of these crazy infrastructure issues limiting digital carrying over to the next console (I hope). They could always lock it because Nintendo though.

This has already started almost all games from big publishers coming 2023 or later are 'next-gen' exclusive and some games that were announced for old gen has been announced they are not releasing anymore for the old platforms.
