It's May 2022 and Microsoft AND Sony don't have any first party exclusives dated for the rest of the year. Let that sink in. Sony has one game slated for 2022 with no date and it's probably getting delayed.

People are acting like this is not a problem but it's not the case, sadly. Market didn't have mercy on PS3 and Vita. You have to support your system with a healthy flow of first party releases. The brand name has very little effect.

I've never played Onimusha. What makes it unique? From the gameplay, it looks like Ninja Gaiden a bit.
One thing is that you can tell Onimusha has its roots in (classic) Resident Evil, because a lot of the same survival horror tropes apply. You're collecting items, solving puzzles, reading apocalyptic log/lore text and so forth. Thanks to the focus on melee combat, your Onimusha char is quite a bit stronger than a RE character, but also due to the much more weighted, grounded combat, they aren't busting out superhero-like air combos in the DMC style, either.

Speaking about combat, one of the hallmarks of Onimusha's is mastery of the "Issen" system, which is about using well-timed counters in order to land critical hits for big damage. It changes up from game to game, but a basic thing is that different enemies and bosses require different timing, and higher difficulties tend to change it up further.

Just had my third laptop die on me recently. I am done with them

You just reminded me to try and wish list the Yakuza games on steam and check them out on steam deck in the future.

I still have my trust iPad I’ve had for four years
Do it and let me know how they run! TBH I've thought about getting a Steam Deck to literally just be a Portable Yakuza Machine and then I realized that's silly

Also: shout out to iPads for genuinely being the future of portable casual computing. My birthday's coming up and I'm treating myself to one of those new iPad Airs in delicious blue

My reservation isn’t until October or later but I’ll be sure to let you know.

I had gotten an iPad after my second laptop had issues and it has been doing pretty good so far since

The pieces are definitely lining up for a lot of info in June, with the back half of the year mostly empty across all platforms sans Pokemon (and Splatoon earlier). Microsoft is already scheduled, Sony and Nintendo will likely be around the same time.

That said, we'll see what there actually is to show with so many delays happening. Sony has GoWR and I guess an outside chance of FF16 making this year? Microsoft has... no idea. I guess Starfield will try as hard as it possibly can to make the fiscal year, I wonder if we'll be seeing Starfield and BOTW2 both in March.

With all this talk about Onimusha, I'm curious about the series. Onimusha Warlords on Switch worth it? It's on sale.

I’m currently bummed, really in the mode to play ringfit but I lost the cartridge last year and there’s no way to buy just the game
If you have no other options, I will happily send you my copy.

Ok, thinking on that Kadokawa news, a Choose Your own adventure dialog/environmental puzzle(Ace Attorney, Danganropa, 999, but more fluid like the last one) Isekai Quartet game would be awesome. Have chapters led by different leads, have multiple endings, have twists on some of the anime stories(Booze heist from the principals office would be a top pick for me) and of course have everyone ||fail to get home once more|| . Spike Chunsoft could totally do some thing awesome with it too

Do we already have the Q&A section of the investor meeting with the president and the rest of the board of directors available? I am unable to find it this time, not even on twitter where it is usual to find questions and answers in threads created by David Gibson (if I remember correctly).

Mario Tennis 64 is real hard??

I breezed through the first matches but doing the Star Cup is insane. Feel like I can do a back and forth for 5 mins and as soon as I mess up I lose. Not sure what I’m meant to do to actually trick the AI.

I know to double press A or B to do a stronger shot, and I know I can charge on the very occasional chance I get, but that’s about it.

I don’t really notice any difference between the A and B shots. I think they’re meant to spin different ways? I can’t see it though so idk if it’s just very minor.

I also read something about A + B doing an overhead shot or something? I don’t get that because it doesn’t do anything different for me.

Also idk if I’m just mad but when I’m on top of the screen I find it so much harder? It’s like I have less time to react or something.
Hey I don't know if anyone got back to you, but I spent many many hours playing Tennis 64 with my friends back in the day and I thought I'd share what I know:

A - Top spin: this shot travels straight and has a high arc. It's easy to get a smash hit on one of these, so don't use it if there's a strong character at the net.
B - Back spin: this shot travels with a curve and stays lower, compared to top spin. The amount of curve varies - Power characters like Bowser have almost no curve, but Tricky characters like Boo have probably too much curve.
A+B together: A Power or Smash shot. When a star appears on the court, get your self there and do this. Aim the stick away from your opponents. Big Power!
A then B - Lob - a slow, high high shot that will come down towards the back of the court. Dangerous to use because it creates opportunities for overhead smashes.
B then A - drop shot - a slow, low shot that just dribbles over the net.
Cancel - Use Z to cancel a charge shot if you need to move.

I hope this helps!

I liked the Onimusha games. They’re somewhere between Resident Evil 1-3 and Dino Crisis 1-2 but with samurai and demons, so know what you’re getting into.

We do but it's JP only atm https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2022/220511_2.pdf , English version should release soon, nobody has translated the whole Q&A yet at least that I know

It's my birthday! I'm 31 and that makes me feel incredibly old.
Happy birthday fellow 1991 baby! If we managed to survive getting to 30, 31 should be a walk in the park (I tell myself, dreading October in less than four months)

Nintendo retweet it
