You can joke about Pikmin, but I’d be surprised if we dont get a Pikmin 4 (or a new game) in the next 5 years. Pikmin 3 deluxe was a huge hit in Japan being especially popular in the young female audience they got from AC and that Nintendo is trying to grow and appeal to during the Switch era more than ever. A new Pikmin fits the current trends of Nintendo development

It is amazing that in the media, unless you are a nintendo fan, think nintendo is the studio that makes games

Its difficult to decide a name since most team, minus epd 3 and 8, make different types of games. So I like that sega angle:ROFLMAO:

EPD if Microsoft owned it:

Triforce Enterprises (EPD 3)
Health, Wellbeing, and Joy Division (EPD 4, yes this is a pun)
Nook Inc (EPD 5, yes this another pun because INK)
Federation Games (EPD 7)
1- Up Tokyo (EPD 8 - yes I know but it's too good not to use for an EPD Mario group)
1-Up Racing (EPD 9)
1-Up Kyoto (EPD 10)

The external production groups would all have absurd bureaucratic names, like Nintendo Worldwide Entertainment Interactive Technology Oversight Group 1.

Sega angle is the same really just that It’s like if inside of EPD Tokyo you had a small division named Mario Team.

See i agree that the groups should have actual names not numbers that way i know who to blame when the next 2d mario game is still some bland turd.

Works pretty well with game freak
 
Oh no, I made a mistake. I saw a stream of the Switch Sports Rocket-League-on-foot game, and I'm already resigned to succumbing to Mario Strikers nostalgia, and now I'm in acute danger of dropping a hunno on two soccer titles over just the next 30ish days. Two titles which I'll probably exhaust after less than a combined three weeks...

According to that ST, the EPD 10 the are ones behind 2D Mario and Pikmin. So just blame Pikmin. If the next 2D Mario is bland, just say fuck Pikmin.

Pikmin has been one of my favourite Switch surprises. Never played one before, then got 3DX after playing the demo. Loooooved it to death. I'm so looking forward to Pikmin 4!
 
Pikmin is a series that I appreciate and wish I was into since it looks gorgeous and fun, but I can't stand games that have that sort of "real time" pressure associated with them. Time limits, needing to perform actions in real time to optimize movements and perform tasks like an RTS, are a huge turnoff to me.
 
Finished my week-end by completing RE4 on the Switch. Probably the most influential game of the last 20 years. Still a 10/10.

If you never played it, it's around 20 bucks on the eShop. Well worth it for twenty hours of pure pleasure.
