During the classes(geography, history, sociale science) i had in my life. The times that ive heard teachers and co-students say that the USA was a failed state was enough that i could buy icecream, if every time it was said i got 5 eurocents...

Must say that they increasingly were right in their assessment
Not entirely sure on how the USA classifies as a failed state when it's doing exactly what its founding fathers intended.

I think the forest area is worse, but at least it's smaller. I would have enjoyed the game more if it had never rewarded exploration, but it does just enough that I kept repeating areas to uncover close to nothing.

You're on the verge of the longest, uninterrupted section of awesome in the game though. Once you get to the next dungeon it gets good for a while. I encourage you to treat the game as a theme park ride, from one cool set piece to the other
Both dungeons so far have been excellent so I'm gonna keep going for sure.

What's a good Switch controller that's wireless, with a good d-pad, and - here's the catch - wakes the Switch up from sleep?

I have an 8BitDo SN30 Pro Plus +, it's great. Like a SNES controller with handles. However, it can't wake the Switch up from sleep and I'm just so lazy at this point that I don't want to bother with the pairing process. End up using it as a PC controller most of the time since the pairing is instant.

I have a Pro Controller, but the d-pad is awful, too stiff.

A couple of months ago, I bought a pair of joy-cons joy-pads from this:

nyxigaming.com

I think they are clones from clones, or there are clones from these... Anyway, you might find other brands/names pretty similar to them. I bought from there because of a recommendation on a spanish forum. And I got to say that even if all people were saying good things about them, I am impressed: good build quality, dpad, battery, in-console recharging, gyro, wakeup... I guess their pro controller version might be pretty similar, or even the usage of these joy-pads with the included connector, it's great as a pro controller alternative.

I guess people points towards one of the ways to determine what is a failed state, namely point 3. The other points aren't really applicable to the USA imo, maybe point 2, but that is by design like you said. So giving the USA that Failed state title, is not really correct.

(following is from wikipedia)
(I just shared what ive heard a lot in my life in my original comment, don't wanna insult anyone)

Clown Confession: I am enjoying playing Overwatch 2. Another beta with a new healer support would be bueno.

I will only accept it if they have a switch case with images of Wii U cases with images of Wii cases with images of GameCube cases in them. Like an even worse version of that Dawn of Sorrow greatest hits version from Konami.

At least we'd be done with all this timed exclusivity bs they keep pulling with the franchise.
And I'd finally be able to move on from the FF IP for good, most likely.

Well, whatever; it's not only a rumor, but also unlikely at best.
Well I did, but only because I can't afford two consoles and my favorite series are on Nintendo ones, which I don't know if will ever see a modern FF again (thanks to paid exclusivity and hopefully not the unlikely rumour).
Is this... Is this what perfection looks like? It's only missing the banner for download since only wind waker will be on the card and the amiibo compatibility warning.

What is the comfort in portable mode with these ? I’ve always wanted to buy Hori Split Pad, but the lack of vibrations is a dealbreaker. This looks exactly what I’m looking for !

Been down without wifi since yesterday afternoon, running on hot spot data

I also broke Skyrim on my computer. Didn’t think it would be possible but I did. Game is busted and it won’t let me completely delete all the files either. Guess I have to install special edition when my internet comes back

Nintendo's just gonna announce Wand of Gamelon 2 as the Zelda release of the year... hey, at least it's a new game

Nachos' first night on Previcox went really well actually. Hopefully this bought him some more time to live in relative comfort.

Nintendo reading this thread, repeatedly seeing the word "bundle", and looking up bakery products think we're all talking about some sort of Zelda themed baked snack.

Fantastic, I was sometimes setting the Switch in tabletop mode just to no play on the TV screen but using the Pro controller, and now I play more in fully portable mode because of this. Buttons are bigger than those on the joy-cons, but not too much, the shape is more ergonomic, and they have a slight texture in the back which make them comfortable to hold. The weight is also non-noticeable when having long sessions.

For you and the rest of people that might be interested, the only downside from them is vibration. It's not like they don't have HD Rumble, which they don't, but any kind of it, it's annoying. I have deactivated any rumble completely from the Switch settings.

The "At least it's not the CD-i games" Collection
I wonder how's the legallity/copyright even goes for those games, in fact; If Nintendo outright own them and can do a hypothetical rerelease.. if Philips has ownership of certain characters and such..

But hear me out...

The CD-I games should had some kind of official rerelease; Throw them as a bonus in a collection with games that people actually like and would pay for.. Having them accessible and available on a modern platform somehow would be the best outcome (I know there are some fan-remakes/remaster out there, but I'm talking about the official side).

Either way.. bad games needs preservation and availability too

Phantom Hourglass had some really interesting ideas. I loved the different ways the games used the DS functionalities, taking notes on a map should ideally be a staple in every Zelda. But it was ultimately hurt by the mandatory touch controls that didn't allow the dungeon design to be as intricate as other games.

I played Spirit Tracks for a bit and it's a vast improvement, but was still too bland and simple and I ended up never finishing it.

IIRC there's a romhack for Phantom Hourglass that allows for button controls that I heard made the game way better? I should give that a shot

That would def make the game more comfortable to play, but it's still designed around the touch controls and its limitations, so the dungeon design is meh

Still very sick.

How's everyone else?
Another down day with fatigue. Settling into a concerning pattern of only have slight reprieve, then shifting backwards, which can be difficult to break out of. I'll keep trucking for now. Hope you get well soon, compadre.

I am ASKING for the onslaught of this week to CHILL THE FUCK OUT

on top of a thousand other ridiculous, terrible, and occasionally heartbreaking things happening β€” my only pair of glasses broke yesterday, and this morning our ceiling vent is leaking. from like… the roof??

It's funny, I'm excited for any past Zelda games to come to the Switch, but I know I won't actually buy them, so I don't know why I'm excited.

Oh my summer isn't empty. Since I am a grad student, I am working as a mentor/faculty for a summer program plus I am working on my dissertation. The biggest difference is that I dont take classes insert Pedro Pascal crying gif

I definitely agree with the general premise that bad games should also be preserved lmao
