Scratch one more off the bucket list! I have finally beaten a Mega Man game!

coverJAP1.png

For my 6th game beaten this yea, I have defeated Mega Man 1 finally! It was the Mega Man collection on Switch. I shamelessly used save states towards the end and I will not apologize.

Sooner than later, I will have to try the other games in the collection!

Oh no

I thought I'd moved on from that disappointment

But you've brought back the pain once again

The... phantom pain...

Here's a memory to a better time.

You know, the "hardest start button in history."

;)

No apologies needed. That game is just an absolute dickhead in the Wily stages.

Uhh, anyone see the new episode of Euphoria yet? That might be one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen. I haven't felt this way since Bojack.

Between BOTW, Paper Mario, and Pokemon Legends, I'm really loving the Switch game trend of slowly adding more instruments to a town's theme song as you make more progress.

Super late reply, but I've got to give a shout-out to the OG in this department. One of my favorite details in one of my favorite games.

I’m guessing that HLTB completion time for Kirby Star Allies is off now with all the free dlc

The DLC was mostly just new characters to play through the levels again with. There were some minor changes to levels when playing as those characters but they are the same for the most part. If you want to beat the with every single character, it could take a decent amount of time. The main campaign as Kirby though is still relatively short.

I was shocked on my replay how front loaded Banjo Kazooie is

I feel Treasure Trove Grove is the only great early world. Mumbo's Mountain is a decent tutorial world but that's all. Clanker's Cavern and Bubblegloop Swamp are the weakest worlds in the game. After that, Freezeezy Peak, Gobi's Valley, Mad Mountain Mansion, and Click Clock Wood are all of good quality.

Definitely. I wouldn't call it front-loaded at all, it has a pretty steady ramp up in level quality the whole way through, with Rusty Bucket Bay being the one exception more or less.

In Fami news, there will be a new thread for weekly eShop sales, based on @Emily's Deals Roundup thread over in the Rusty's Real Deals forum.

Keep in mind: not every single game on sale will be present in the thread OP. As of now there are over 900 games that have a sale price.... and nobody wants to rifle through dozens of Troll & Is.

I just spent two hours searching Rusty Bucket Bay for four notes. I ended up having to watch a YouTube video to find them. That wasn’t much fun.
For as great as Banjo Kazooie is, the game comes really close to being a collecting chore a couple of times.

Cool to hear this! I've been wanting to try it for years. I wish there was a way to do MP that didn't require multiple GBAs. I have the game but don't have GBAs. I heard SP is pretty good but probably not the same experience.
It took me 10 seconds of re-reading this to realize you were talking about single player and not GBA SPs. I was so confused lol

I like mumbo and clanker! the latter scared me as a kid but I think it's one of the best in the game. Gobi I'm not a big fan of and mad click clock made me abandon my last playthrough-- it's just too big.

Adding to what bellydrum said:

The plan is to create a weekly deals thread for the NA/US eShop every Thursday.

If that goes smoothly, then the next step is to create a weekly deals thread for the UK/EU eShop.

I don't feel any botw 2 news in this upcoming direct. I think it's either a zelda direct in Feb. Or March with a holiday 2022 release date or it will be at E3 with a 2023 spring release date. Jan and Feb. 2023 would be still in their fiscal year right?

On and off ive been laughing imagining Hideo Kojima at that My Chemical Romance concert back in 2006, standing in the back surrounded by teenagers wearing a Black Parade t-shirt, with his collar up, sun glasses on trying to blend in while just vibin, trying not to give into his temptations of letting loose during Dead! and running into the pit

I saw MCR in 2006 at warped. They played the whole three cheers album in pallbearers outfits in 100+ degree heat. It was great.

I hope the direct is this week, it would make for a crazy one…I’m already getting my PS5 this week haha

Just 2 more sleeps until direct day on the 9th!
Or just a lot of salt I can use for my food that day. ;p

----

Yesterday went back to PLA again and did The Sea's Legend. Was a fun quest that connects future Sinnoh really well :). I have to do the last frenzy Pokémon but I am avoiding it cause I want to catch Pokémon, haha. So I am finishing up my sidequests.

Btw as I played several hours of the Origami King… that game is channeling some Wind Waker vibes.

I like it.
Obligatory "Origami King is a fantastic game" post.

I'm really loving Pokémon Legends. I have poured dozens of hours and haven't finished it just because I enjoy catching pokemon and filling out the pokédex that much.

The salt you'll be using that is that of all of us hoping to see Botw2 😔.

I haven't been able to play PLA as much as I'd like, but I am definitely enjoying it. I just reached the Cleavor quest last night. I haven't actually completed it yet, but I hope to dive into it some more tonight.

Phenomenal game! I've been wanting to replay it, but my brother has my copy and I won't be getting back until he comes visit me June.

Holy shit I just realized that too. Why isn't there a Mario Sonic Olympics game this year? Did 2020 scare them off?

I think the 2020 game bombed.

I've seen people claim Nagoshi wanted to stop Sega making them but I think that's bitch eating crackers nonsense.

I've been playing Overcooked with my husband and I'm so frustrated because the game stops you from advancing if you don't score high in the previous levels. It would be annoying to have to replay levels even if it was on my own, but when the game is heavily multiplayer focused and you're teaming up with someone who potentially doesn't have many gaming skills it's just dumb. The game is very accessible because it's simple to pick up and play, until it decides your casual partner has to grind previous levels and git good if they want to keep playing.

Needless to say my husband has compeltely lost interest in the game and now I have to finish it alone if I want to see it through.

Howdy and happy Monday (not really). About 4 hours into PLA and I gotta say, this feels nice. It feels like Game Freak really is trying to change the formula. Graphically, it's not anything impressive, but it's also not that bad to look at. It still has an ambient charm to it too.

cracks me up every time

platinum about to get GAASy

Eh, it more sounds like they want to jump on the BotW bandwagon. BotW, while being a strictly single player title, still played by many after 5 years. They might not be interested in a gaas multiplayer title but a BotW-like supported by insane amount of DLC fits more into that description.
