what the hell it's so big

The screen is the same size as the OLED too. I know it’s a lot more powerful than Switch but that’s a huge difference in bulk. I really hope they follow up with revisions that aren’t as huge, but valve has a reputation for abandoning one-and-done hardware.

Bloodborne is love, Bloodborne is life.

I kind of wish I replayed more games since there’s so many awesome ones I’d love to replay. I usually alternate each year between replaying Mario 64 and Super Metroid at least, my two favorite games of all time, but both are quick for me since I’ve played them so much. Only 4-6 hours to 100% either one.

My backlog is massive and I’m always regularly attacking it alongside new games. Sometimes you get a dud, but there’s so many cool games out there I’m always glad to play.

I tried Dreamscaper on Game Pass and was immediately put off by it. This might be extremely petty, I guess, but...

Faceless characters like this give me the heebie jeebies and I kinda hated it in Ashen as well 🙃

Has anyone got Manscaped after listening to one of Nate's podcasts?
A friend gifted me the crop preserver that they got in a work raffle because they didn't have have the hardware to use it, and honestly I believe in the ball deodorant hype.

Been toying with the idea to buy either a Meridien or Manscaped set, and honest to god those podcast shout outs really are tipping the scales in Manscaped's favour haha

I know your remark is half serious at best, but it is not even an excuse. I have merely accepted the fact that I will never have the time to play every game I want to play. I rarely even find the time to replay games that I have not played for a long time and would like to revisit. There is just too much interesting new stuff releasing on a regular basis for me to possibly play more than the handful most interesting ones in any given year.
In my view, we are living in a golden age of gaming right now in terms of variety and, I would argue, quality (as well as the sheer quantity of video games out there).

(Never mind the Indie games that sometimes even reach the quality of a good AAA title.)

Hell, I'm in the same boat as you; I can't play every single cult classic or "hidden gem." Sure, I'll occasionally be experimental and even be pleasently surprised, but even then, I'm playing games based on gut feeling, that sense that I will enjoy it at some level, and I'm not going to play a game that I don't want to play just because others tell me to.

But yeah, I'm just preaching to the choir at this point so...

Tl;dr: I understand completely and don't hold it against you, haha

It didn't even come off that way, I just wanted to take this opportunity put aside the shitposting for a bit and share some more serious thoughts of mine for a change.

I kind of wish they made a model without the touchpads. Could have saved on some real estate.
The touchpads are kind of essential for the “PC on the go” experience. It’s what allows the Deck to support practically any PC game, even ones never designed with a controller or touchscreen in mind.

I got the Lawn Mower back in 2020 and haven't looked back since. Before Nate started promoting it, but since his podcast, I've ordered the body wash and it's as terrific as he says.

There was this episode of GI Joe where Cobra Commander or whatever steals people’s faces and they look like this. I had nightmares for months (maybe even years) as a kid. The only other vivid recurring nightmare I had involved a deranged Teddy Ruxpin trying to kill me. 80s stuff was actually terrifying.

Yeah, but where are the hits, attention, and revenue in accurately reporting a bland corporate answer? Current model of online coverage suits the hyperactive, inaccurate response that connects new information to existing outrage.

See also: Nintendo's bland November statement about "continuing to improve NSO" (a statement they have offered every year since the service launched) being reported as an acknowledgement of or apology for the N64 NSO issues.

So kit and Krysta from Nintendo Minute showed up in NVC and I guess they want to create more contents together outside of Nintendo now. Which is great

This so much. A month ago, I made a mission to finally play Kingdom Hearts. As of today, I've played 8 hours of it, while I've started, played and finished 2 of my favorite FF games, got 10 hours into a 3rd, and starting a 4th today.
A couple of weeks ago, I replayed dragon age origins just to keep my mind odd things that happened. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of why we like games, and I like going back to old ones from time to time

Which do you all think releases first between the next Mario Kart and GTA6? lol

Hm, just realized if I focus I could probably blow through the final 6 missions of SRW X this afternoon and tomorrow. I should probably do that first then start Digimon cyberslueth

Rockstar "announcing" the next GTA is in development without a trailer or anything to show is a massive nothing burger. Or course there will be a new GTA one day. There will be a new Call of Duty, Mario Kart, Forza ,etc. One day too. Huge selling franchises get new entries eventually. If they have nothing to show, no release window, it's not really an announcement.

Ah, understood!

Anyways...

I was just listening to this song in one of those music compilation videos while I was doing other things and I have to say that this piece really stands out.

I'm a bit surprised that ZombiU hasn't been ported to the Switch yet given that it was quite well-liked, though I never played it myself, tbh (didn't have a Wii U).

Wasn’t this just something to coincide with the release date announcement for the current Gen GTA V versions? Probably a way to keep people from pestering them. Do agree though it was inevitable that one of the biggest video game properties would get another sequel so this announcement is mostly meaningless in that regard.

But the real scariest part was that it was not one of your favorite games that you've already played for the 8 billionth time

This is too damn big!

It's the Game Gear 2.0; I loved my Game Gear back in the day (it was my first portable system), but I remember having to carry it in another case since it wouldn't fit in my bag and this is giving me the same vibes.

I enjoyed watching Nintendo Minute so if Kit and Krysta made an independent YouTube channel I'd watch it. Especially if it allows them more freedom to express themselves and they can leverage their contacts with Nintendo for some interesting interviews.

I feel like it wasn't that long ago when the answer to the question "what's the most popular video game series in Japan?" used to be Dragon Quest, but at the same time I feel it hasn't been true for a long time. Sounds weird, I know. It old people stuff.

I feel like at this point the answer is either

A) Still Dragon Quest

B) Monster Hunter

C) Some mobile gatcha game I've never heard of

Japan's top 100 games of all time list makes me feel that the biggest Japanese franchises in terms of clout there are still Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and Pokémon.

Although there seems to be a generational gap at work for DQ/FF. So Pokemon overall seems to target the largest age range.

Shocking…..

It's a shame cuz Stadia's streaming is way smoother for me than Xbox's and others (at least where I live.) But at the same time Google got so cocky with it w/o actually putting in a whole ton of effort into it. Like they thought they were just going to come in and own the space.
