Wish I could join you all at midnight, but my work hours won't let me do that. But soon as I'm out tomorrow? Gonna play all day.

Have been playing for about 3 and a half hours and I'm absolutely sold on this being the future of the series.

Me too!!! Took a vacation day tomorrow!

Same! I can't wait to dive in, but I know it'd be a mistake to start it up tonight (much as I am tempted) so I'm going in fresh in the morning.

I'm actually considering watching my partner start it on my Switch, where I have it unlocking digitally in... one hour now. Since their physical copy comes in tomorrow.

I can't believe this is finally happening.... a series stagnant for so many years... exciting night folks!!!

6 minutes! Squeezing in one last halo match and admiring my clean apartment lol

The hours went by quickly after all

Graphics are bad but I think some people went overboard on it. It's not the best looking switch game but not the worst. Could be better though.

Performance and pop in on terrain is a bit rough but the game looks clean as hell on my TV resolution wise.

I can't believe it's here!

Throwing Pokeballs feels SO GOOD

Also the graphics look really... sharp. Not dull, like BotW. The colors look great too.

Game graphically just looks mediocre. Not bad. But not good either. Just a sense of passable.

Feels nice to play. Dashing is pretty fast, pacing is pretty good, load times are short so far. Throwing poke balls is fast and feels smooth. Lack of VA will probably be a big criticism, think it would help here. Personally I don’t care that it’s not in as I always read much faster then spoken, but I feel which it’s so far presentation, it would’ve been a good place to start.

I do like that a mission pops up and you can click plus on it in the title to lock it.

Music sound pretty great so far.

Played a little bit since I had to do things in the morning... On Handheld it looks really great, and capturing the pokes feels amazing.

Gonna play more in the afternoon to test on dock mode how it feels.

Yeah, visuals are more than fine for me, looks great handheld

Game's comfy and charming af so far. Love the mix of a traditional sort of Pokemon charm with the new style of gameplay.

As a member of the Galaxy Expedition Team, players will visit Jubilife Village, a bustling settlement that serves as a base of operations.
Whoah whoah, now I am more of a casual Pokemon observer than a player, but I just wanna get this lore straight ...

In canon Pokemon, humans are a star-faring race, and their interstellar explorations brought them to planet(s) inhabited by creatures with wondrous super-powers ... that as it turns out also mostly enjoy chillin in tiny metal balls!? 🤯

After playing for 3h I can definitely see why it’s getting such positive buzz. I have several smaller issues, mostly in regards to graphics and performance. But actually playing it is just so extremely satisfying.

Ok I'm only about 23 minutes in and I am super pleasantly surprised. I've been complaining for God only knows how many years about what you actually play in Pokemon games. I want to move around and interact for corn sakes!

Throwing the balls feels good! Aiming manually like that while still being able to move around feels really nice so far! Sneaking up on a Pokemon in the tall grass is fun so far and feels good! And when you battle you can still run around as your human character? Right on! I don't know what it would even mean to do that I just love that I can! I wondered what would happen if I got in-between 2 Pokemon fighting but was too afraid to see what would happen. I imagine nothing though.

Oh and then I can throw my poke ball at tree or something and my Pokemon will head butt the tree to grab berries? I love it! Is there more things like this down the road. It's almost exactly what I've been asking for for years!

I like that I can throw my Pokemon out at anytime and just talk to them. I thought for sure one at a time but then wouldn't you know it seems like you can just surround yourself with your whole team at a moments notice. It doesn't seem like it does anything aside from maybe raisin affection, if thats still a thing but I'm just glad I'm able to do it!

The Pokemon I have seen so far, only about 7, seem to really exist in the world. When you battle they come out right then and there. When you find them they are there and not just in the mystical battle realm. I like that they subtly turn their heads and watch you when you approach them.

I hate that so far I have not seen a door opening animation but I can forgive that considering what I've experienced above.

The first 20 minutes sold me hard. And I am as jaded a Pokemon fan as they come. Love the creatures themselves but man Sword and Shield put me off hard.

We've seen shots like this in the different trailers but I'm sad that only the main character can move during battles and not the camera. It could have give us some epic moments.

Played for over 2 hours and I still haven’t completed the tutorial. I immediately got distracted trying to discover the different Pokémon hiding in just the patch of land before the river that they let you explore. The game so far is just very satisfying to play. The sound design is a big part of it—so many crunchy sound effects that make your actions feel electric.

I have no idea why it's possible either, but I did just HAVE to try it out asap lmao.

So apparently you can get hit when they attack each other 🤓👍🏽
The protag doesn't have a health bar I think, so I can't say whether it could KO you or not if it happens too many times though.

DHL almost failed me by delaying the delivery till Saturday, but luckily my nearby Mediamarkt has retail copies ready for pick up. For real, I have never been this excited to try a new game in my life! Can't wait to dive in Hisui landscapes.
Edit:
Lol at being Isekai'ed to Hisui and introduced to the game by "Prof." Arceus of all things.

Exp share actually feels like it might be balanced this time. There aren't as many trainer battles and most of the wild pokemon I'm catching I'm not battling so I actually appreciate for once that exp is being doled out to everyone.

The game is really good so far. So much to do. And i love the overall chill mood, the soundtrack.

Tried to take on an alpha luxray early on and got team wiped. This game is not as easy as I'd thought.

I've been playing since 8am and I'm loving it. Im torn between staying all day exploring the first area and grinding and actually progressing in the story. The game is that good.

It's true that visuals are really unimpressive, even mediocre, but the art style makes it look nice. I can only be excited for future games with these mechanics improved upon and better visuals.

Almost took the day off for this. Amazon still hasn't shipped my game but says it's still supposed to be there today...hoping it's there when I get home from work later.

Waiting to get out of work to start mine, it's so close (literally since I'm working from home 😅 )

A general question, what does the "assistance" (press + when accepting a quest) do? I generally want to cut down on dialogues but perhaps it can be necessary later. The only issue I have rn is that there seems to be no way to change this option after a quest is accepted.

I've snuck in some gameplay while WFH and I'm impressed so far (just got the first star rank). The gameplay loop does seem fun and fresh, though we'll see if it holds up as I get deeper into the game. I'm a bit concerned it might get a bit empty.

The visuals are... servicable. The artstyle at least gives it some depth with its use of shadows and shading which makes it look a lot less flat than SwSh. It runs well enough so I'm not really complaining here. I wasn't expecting a tech masterpiece.

The sound design is clearly taking a leaf from BotW, and it works really well here too. And I love actually throwing your Pokemon out to battle or harvest stuff.
