Nice combo I’ve got going here, I must say.
One day, my friend, you will learn about the "Edit" feature for posts! ;]

A Netflix adaptation of KLK would be cursed from every direction
Black Water is easier to play but Lunar Eclipse was scarier for me.Fatal Frame is on sale. Which is the better one out of Black Water and Lunar Eclipse?
Someone @ me if my record of 38.204 gets beaten
Neither 7R deserves thisFinal Fantasy XVI is better than 7R in most ways.
I think a bit of fun left the game industry over the past number of years.Maybe it was due to being an easter holiday, but does anyone else feel like there wasn't any or much Aprils Fools shit about games yesterday?
Neither 7R deserves this
i disagree very much so, but you’re entitled to your opinionFinal Fantasy XVI is better than 7R in most ways.
have you played Ghost Trick? imo it's one of the best stories in video gamesOkay Fami, I need a recommendation. I’m currently deep into several RPGs and having a great time, but I haven’t experienced a really good emotional story that’s gotten to me in a while, and I’m kind of craving that next. I’ve got my eye on ‘Until Then’ coming out late May, but any other recommendations I could check out in the meantime?
Preferably something shorter, maybe more of a VN although if possible with some adventure game elements to it.

Do you remember the day we met..?Jack.

we technically had a very atypical one...We haven’t had a badge contest in a while. A N64 one for the summer could be fun, there’s way more now

Stringing combos like I’m some kind of fighting game god isn’t my style, haha.

you know why i love video games? my friend thinks the combat is better in ff16 than 7r. he’s wrong, but it makes for interesting discussion
Okay but FFVI is better than both of themFinal Fantasy XVI is better than 7R in most ways.
What sort of jokes would they even make this year?Maybe it was due to being an easter holiday, but does anyone else feel like there wasn't any or much Aprils Fools shit about games yesterday?
this is objective truthOkay but FFVI is better than both of them
I need to get back to it - I started it a while ago but put it down for other things before the story had really gotten goinghave you played Ghost Trick? imo it's one of the best stories in video games
Ah fuck, played myself.
Theres a Tornado watch today from 3 to 11 pm for me so when I drive home from work im gonna play this song on my car stereo on my way home to enhance my drive xD
If I put my headphones on and run towards the tornado with this song playing It should make me hit some springs and lead me to an emerald right? xDThat's the spirit!
(seriously though fingers crossed that bugger stays up in the clouds)
Hear, hearOkay but FFVI is better than both of them
Well, being able to discern framerate is an acquired skill. You can train your eyes to identify up to 300 fps if you were so inclined.Okay if this is legit then I understand the very passionate insistence some people have about games "needing" to run at or above 60fps
Please don't, that is strictly hedgehog territoryIf I put my headphones on and run towards the tornado with this song playing It should make me hit some springs and lead me to an emerald right? xD
The headline says pro gamers (I'm not one of those headline people; I just don't have time to read right now). Is the Future Hardware thread full of pro gamers?Okay if this is legit then I understand the very passionate insistence some people have about games "needing" to run at or above 60fps.
New Research Suggests Some Gamers' Eyes See More FPS
Temporal resolution is a trait that basically functions like a frame rate counter but for your brainkotaku.com
I almost wanna post this in Future Hardware and say "OKAY FINE I GET IT NOW" but I've probably derailed that thread enough
Ok ok xDHear, hear

Yeah the article leans into the "pro gamers" crap but the research they cite has nothing to do with that culture and is actually pretty interesting imoThe headline says pro gamers (I'm not one of those headline people; I just don't have time to read right now). I have thoughts about pro gamers.
I hate to date myself too bad here but I do think a lot of this comes down to the types of games that people grew up with. I think we both survived the N64/PS1 generation and then mostly stuck with console games, so it makes sense that we don't bat an eye at 30 FPS. People who either missed that generation or followed it up by getting into PC games have probably wired themselves to be more aware of performance.Yeah the article leans into the "pro gamers" crap but the research they cite has nothing to do with that culture and is actually pretty interesting imo
I've seriously wondered why some people are so aggressive about things needing to be 60+ fps or else it's "unplayable," when honestly 30 has always been fine for me except in a few special cases (super speedy games like Sonic and Forza I'd prefer in 60, but that's about it). But if different people's eyes literally see at different rates, then that explains it. And is neat.
I'd kinda like to do the flashing light test they administered in the research to see where I fall.
I credit growing up on the N64 for giving me framerate antibodies. As a kid I played games like Ocarina at 20FPS, and games like Banjo-Tooie where the framerate slows down to the single digits in some areas - if I can handle that then I am immune to most any framerate problems these days.I hate to date myself too bad here but I do think a lot of this comes down to the types of games that people grew up with. I'm not even kidding that when I was a kid I considered FPS dips to be a sign of how cool the game was. Like, when you are in the Lost Woods and that giant is trying to smash you with a club? And the game dips into the teens? That's because it was too cool for the N64 to handle.I credit growing up on the N64 for giving me framerate antibodies. Not so much a framerate thing specifically, but I am kinda glad my first introduction to games (besides my parents' old NES) was the N64 because it means I can go back to just about anything nowadays. Like, I have to imagine if you grow up with modern graphics being the default to the point even your phone can push HD graphics, it's probably real tough to go back and play a '90s-era "you can literally count the polygons on one hand" game because to you it'll just look "old"; but for me there's a certain nostalgic charm about graphics so bare-bones that they can really only imply details and your brain has to fill in the blanks on its ownI hate to date myself too bad here but I do think a lot of this comes down to the types of games that people grew up with. Last month's report is right here!
Yo yo yiggity yo, y'all! Time for another Resolution Roundup from the W O H O Y GOD!!!
1. Get a new job! Earlier today, I finished an interview for a full-time security job. I was definitely nervous, but I think I did as good as I could. They said I should hear back within 3-5 business days, so I should hopefully hear from them before the end of the week.
2. Get a car! I finally passed my knowledge test after 4 tries and I'm starting my first driving class on Thursday. I'm still reading the driving manual to keep my mind fresh on the rules of the road.
3. Lose weight! I seem to be losing weight, even if I wound up skipping a few days in a row. Still doing the routine of 30 minutes on the bike and 100 weight lifts. I've been trying to limit how much I've been eating and I think it's helping a little, I'll keep at it for now.
4. Get a girlfriend! The urge to ask my crush out has been getting stronger with each passing day, but I've been mulling over how to do that without creeping her out. Didn't I say all this last month? Guess that goes to show how little progress I've made in this regard.
5. Beat 5 games in my backlog! ............
Still on FF7 and I might pick up Stellar Blade after I beat it; I've been enjoying that game's demo so far. Still haven't finished those other 2, btw.
6. Save enough money to move out! Due to irl responsibilities, saving money this month was nigh impossible, most of my savings were spent up. Part of the reason I've been trying to get a new job is so that I can better save money. Here's hoping!
7. Read more!
Conclusion: It's been ups and downs for me, but I think I'm on an upward trend, this month. I think I might focus less on 5 and 7 this month, I've already limited my gaming time to weekends and I'll try to read more during my lunch breaks at work. All in all, I'm somewhat optimistic!
Eyyy, that's fantastic to hear! Congrats on your progress and hope it motivates you to keep powering through on your other goals! Hope to see you more in cooking thread as well!Think I might go for an 8th resolution to cook more. Y'all might see me in the cooking thread more often. That breaner was a confidence booster!
there totally is a growlithe outfit — I think it might have been a limited mystery gift though
I went to check my own save file, but uh… I think I left it on the Switch that Arceus isn’t currently downloaded to!
I hope!! because if my save is gone I’ll be sad
Haha yeah after you mentioned I looked it up too, but seeing what it was in full compared to what Choco shared and just...okay so not exactly the same (ignore my clashing pants from my usual outfit)
but confirmed that it’s a real thing and I’m not completely off my splash pad
Well, since I couldn't make the joke fast enough I'll share this 12 year old meme's Laboratory
