Rumour Luigi mansion 2 and Paper Mario thousand year door announcement VERY SOON - Pyoro?

I feel we're going to get a hachi port of 1 for ~20 bucks, then Luigi's Mansion 2 HD for ~50, with a double pack available at ~60.

This is absolutely based on vibes and feels, I have no insider information, please disregard everything I said. I should not be listened to, please don't make YouTube videos about this post.

too late I already made 50 videos on 30 different accounts

On one hand, if both get their own twitter trailers this week that would feel like a mark against the rumored April Direct, so I would be maybe 2% bummed… but I will still be 98% bouncing-off-my-walls excited because I’m dying to see more of the TTYD remake :)
Generally release date trailers haven’t meant much when it comes to future directs. If anything, we’ve seen more just as many games get dated outside of directs rather than inside them.

Knee jerk reaction is if both games are due out by June, or even July, then what the heck does Nintendk have planned for the second half of the year? The only other project announced is MP4!
tbf isn't this how a lot of years have gone for Nintendo? Back half is left mostly a mystery until mid-late spring

Like, after TotK people were saying "what does Nintendo have for the second half besides Pikmin 4" and then they did a June direct with Mario Wonder, Mario RPG remake, and a new WarioWare all releasing later that year

A Mar10 Day Direct seems possible then. I know there's been rumors out there around more LEGO Mario kits and SNW @ EU news being announced very soon too. Could bundle all these announcements in 1 presentation then.

leapfrog is nothing new, so paper mario could come first

however I think if it's true that switch 2 got punted out of this year relatively recently then I think paper mario is a good candidate to get pushed back and marketed as something bigger than it otherwise would have been

Yup it's time for new trailers with release dates.

I just want a new trailer for TTYD so we can hear more of the remixes :D

These annoucements and a new Mario sports game being announced this week and it releases in June

I think the most likely option is just Twitter announcements.

BUT, to have a little fun speculating, I’ll predict we get a Mario Mini Direct on like Thursday.
-TTYD and LM3 dates
-Final Princess Peach trailer
-Mario Sports game announcement
-Mario Movie 2 confirmed (maybe they slap a 2026 or 2027 date on it)

Nintendo likes to give space between new drops to let them hit, we're at the very least getting a "HERE ARE SOME COOL NEW MARIO ANNOUNCEMENTS" thread if they're giving us separate updates on two different games at once. A Mario Mini Direct feels a distinct possibility.

Mario Direct to confirm -

  • Paper Mario: TTYD for surprise April launch
  • Luigi's Mansion 2 HD for June
  • Mario Sports Megamix for July
  • Super Mario Party 2 for October
  • LEGO Super Mario The Videogame for November
  • The Super Mario Bros Movie The Videogame for 2025
  • Mario Paint HD announced, no date

I would love it if there was a Mario Paint HD with a new mouse that has some interesting gimmick that eventually becomes an industry standard. 😁

What are we thinking for the next Mario sports game? Baseball?

Would anyone like to see a sports collection again like Mix or Superstars?

My want/dream/conspiracy theory-

In all the marketing, they pushed Strikers Battle League as "A new sport called Spike" that was sold as "like soccer" in America and "like football" in Europe. They could make a full-contact game with an oval-shaped ball Mario Sports game and sell it as "a new sport" again and, in America "like football", but "like rugby" in Europe and Japan (Where rugby is massive, it's the second-most watched team sport to baseball these days).

Alternatively, they just do baseball. Though Europe is a third of Nintendo's market these days (Which was apparently a big factor in Mario Strikers coming back) and baseball do not exist at all here. You get odd NBA and NFL fans over here, but I've been in reasonably sporty circles a lot and never met a single European who follows baseball. The Wii Mario Baseball didn't even release over here because they didn't expect anyone to buy it.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars 2, baby

64 DS, 3D Land, Galaxy 2, let's goooo
I don't think 64 DS holds up very well with the unusual controls IMO, but I know it has its fans and I'd be ecstatic to see the other two. Especially 3DL on a console for the first time.

I do just want to add on that we should be expecting to see the Princess Peach: Showtime! Overview Trailer this week so I think that alongside the trailers for Luigi's Mansion 2 HD and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door would make for a lot of fun (especially if it's a part of something a little larger like a series Direct)!! :)

The red bird tweets indicating more info is coming soon for two games and half the thread is expecting a Mario Direct 😵‍💫
Half the thread is expecting a Mario Direct. I'm expecting Nintendo will confirm 28 new games, launch a campaign to legalise same-sex marriage in Japan, and announce they bought the park near my mum's house and intend to turn it into a full-scale replica of Bob-Omb Battlefield.

We'll get the realistic thing anyway, it's fun to get carried away whilst it's possible.

If there is MAR10 Direct I don't expect anything extravagant. Could just be a 15 minute thing focusing on Peach, Luigi, TTYD and miscellanous stuff (MVDK DLC?)

It's going to be a very quiet first half of the year.

here my prediction for a Mar10 Day Direct:
final trailer for Princess Peach Showtime and a demo droping after the presentation
new trailers for Luigi Mansion 2HD e the Paper Mario the Thousand Years Door remake, showcasing more of the games and revealing it release date
a anouncement of the Super Mario Bros movie sequel or a Donkey Kong movie
reminder of the Donkey Kong area on Super Nintendo World, also confirming when it open on Epic Universe Super Nintendo World
a tease of the next 3D Mario(also hiting you can see more of the game later on the summer
some Mario games coming to NSO

Camelot has not released a game since Mario Golf Super Rush(2021) , I am thinking they do a collection again or are helping Namco with a baseball game.

It’s something. Good for those interested. I will see how LM2 looks.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the singleplayer for Luigi’s Mansion 2, but man I loved the online multiplayer so much (‘: if it works well on the Switch then I’m sold on it

I’m still a little in shock that a TTYD remake even exists too 😅 ee

LEGO are doing their own Mario Day stream on the 9th, let's spend the next few days deciding if this means Nintendo is definitely doing something big enough they wouldn't need LEGO in a Direct Mini, or nothing because why else would LEGO be doing it alone?

If Nintendo is planning on releasing both games by June, then they must have a lot of other software lined up for the second half of 2024.
This. Last year we discovered in June the H2 line up, it’s plausible that all the already announced titles will be out by June/July.

Princess Peach Showtime for March, Luigi's Mansion Gamecube $30 port for April (and hopefully SSB64 for NSO), PM TTYD for May, Luigi's Mansion (physical edition) for June, Luigi's Mansion 2 for July.

Am I the only one who interprets the tweet as a wish and absolutely not as an allusion?

Makes sense. I'd say that's hopefully the last Mario stuff for this year, but both Party and sports are potentially due this year.
Mario Party is one of the franchises that's gone from strength to strength with the Switch, and two games have already been released for this generation. While I understand the logic of a Gamecube Superstars as an end-of-year filler, I just don't buy it, personally. Mario parties are evergreen, structuring titles for a game library, and this will accompany the Switch 2's debut.

On the other hand, if Bamco is working on a whatever baseball game and not on Starfox or Kid Icarus, I think I'm going to burst into tears.

I think we get Paper Mario in June and LM2 in September.

April Direct might give us MP 2+3 shadowdropped in April, Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War for July, Zelda Wind Waker for October and we close off the year with MP4 in November.
I know it wouldn't necessarily be perceived that way by most people, but what you describe would make me totally happy. Wonderful games all around, it would be a lovely transition year. But commercially, I don't know how it would work.

This is more or less where I'm arriving at, I think. Mario Party's position as an evergreen title is a big boon for a new system, especially when things like Splatoon and new Zelda won't be there in the first couple of years. Important for Nintendo to hang onto whatever cards they can.

Maybe NdCube have cooked something else up for this year, though, and I think it's worth considering that they're potentially due to launch something this year.
On the other hand, if Bamco is working on a whatever baseball game and not on Starfox or Kid Icarus, I think I'm going to burst into tears.
Camelot haven't shipped anything since 2021, and a 3 year gap separated Tennis and Golf on Switch even with the pandemic. They could well lead development on another sports mix game, and even if Bamco were involved, I wouldn't assume it's the only Nintendo x Namco game in the works.

I still think the Mario Party solution is easy

You do an iterative Superstars 2 for Switch

You do a NEW Mario Party for Switch 2

Exactly this. To us, Mario Party seems less of a system seller than Metroid or Xenoblade or whatever, but to the average mum or casual buyer considering an upgrade next year, they see there's a new Switch, they check what games are on it, and Mario Party is the perfect "Oh! And it's got this!" game. They're teetering on buying it for Mario Kart & 3D Mario, then they see there's a new, exclusive Mario Party as well and it tips them over the edge.

If we do get a MAR10 Direct it will be funny after people said last year was too Mario-centric

Yeah, I'd sooner believe it's a wish too.

I'm sure logically it makes sense to get some kind of update on both given there's nothing dated after PPS, and the odds are in our favour, but I think Pyoro is just thinking out loud rather than actually suggesting a press release or twitter drop is going to happen on a Sunday.

I do wonder, depending upon the process for Luigi's Mansion 2's HD port, if they'll port/remaster the 3DS version of 1 too?

I like how you think! I see no good reason yet why Nintendo can't have a H2 full of surprises like most years.
