News Pokémon Presents Scheduled for February 27 2024 at 6am PST

I do appreciate the gall of doubling down mere hours before Unova games (likely remakes) are announced. I say confidently as I'm (also) doubling down on potentially being wrong lol

Khu posted a couple of tweets btw, this time they're actually less broad than the past vague Gen 5 teases:

Kind of really feeling an outsourced Unova game right now, at worst it's bad but GF gets more time for their games, at best it's great and GF still gets more time for their games, either way it's a win in my book.

I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong! I think Khu is full of shit. We will find out soon.

2nd hint is likely pointing to a remake as well.
ORAS code name was Sango which means coral, and BDSP was Delphis

Yeah it's very likely to be that.

People on Era are now pointing out that the solution to the first tweet might be the codename of the game: Intimidate, as Khu has leaked codenames for the games in the past. At this point it's looking like he very much still has sources then?

Just please let these remakes be something approaching good, please. I’ll ignore them otherwise, but I’d love not to have to.

I mean, they could tease whatever November game they have, if any, and them release details in the coming months, even though the presentation is short

If we get gen 1/2 then we also need a 150% feature. Make it toglable.

But I know Nintendo won't do that. No way to make the audio not speed up. :/

For me speedup in old RPGs is an "accessibility" option. The games are simply to slow, I don't have the time (or mental capacity) for that. Only way I can replay old RPGs is either fast mode (ff7-9 on switch) or when it's one of the rates that has fast gameplay (golden suns battles are breezy, or the animation skipping in SMT5)

I saw the runtime is 12 min so that's at least 10 min of Pokémon sleep news and 2 min of new game news also got you to click the spoiler button again Hehe

I don't actually care for anything new that could come (new games or remakes), at this point, I just hope we get gens 1/2/3 in some form, either as separate eShop purchases or in a separate NSO app (obviously without savestates or cloud compatibility to avoid abuses) as long at it's compatible with Home.
Compatibility with Stadium 1/2 would be a nice bonus but I'm not even expecting it.

Also Pokémon Pinball, please. The first one (GBC) was never re-released anywhere, even on 3DS, which is a huge bummer.

Also this, but yeah that's already too much high expectations :(

Honestly, a separate Pokemon app in Nintendo Switch Online, most likely with an additional charge, added to periodically from GameBoy library onwards (probably not including Switch games) makes a lot of sense and keeps Nintendo and Pokemon company happy - depending on price they want to charge they could also add in their sound library, art, etc... and include Pokemon Home etc...

I always assumed that’s how they would do that. Even on the 3ds they were selling those retro pokemon titles for a premium compared to other gameboy vc titles

If we're still taking Khu's rumors seriously, I should remind everyone that he explicitly said last year that TPC was upset with ILCA's handling of BDSP to the point they thought it was brand-damagingly bad and they were almost certainly never going to work with ILCA in that capacity ever again. Given that and the fact that ILCA's probably too busy with Sand Land, I imagine that BW is being handled by someone else.

Because it's Tose doing pixel remasters of all games released in Gen 5.

TPC gave up and begged Nintendo to make it in-house for them.
The reason Palworld is in early access is because TPC saw those early trailers, realized they couldn't compete, and begged that team to make a gen 5 remake for them. They even signed an agreement to look the other way for their blatant plagiarism.

If you never see me again, you'll know I uncovered the truth!

wait for some reasons I thought the pokemon presents was now but it's in an hour?

Additional charge? that doesn't line up well with the NSO offer and I doubt they'd want to make things more complicated late in the Switch's life, only for a selection of retro games (I know it's Pokémon but still).
Gen 3 would only be available to Expansion Pack subscribers obviously but that's all.
I wouldn't count on FR/LG though if we already get R/B/Y.

If they're going to be greedy it will be a separate eShop release for each game in each language so you can pick what do you want, no NSO required except maybe for online battling/trading if that's going to be a thing.
I wouldn't be too surprised if they went this route as the 3DS VC Pokémon releases were $10 each opposed to the usual $4 for GB or $6 for GBC games.

Someday, my friend. Someday.

ie: Subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online - and pay $20 a year for the Pokemon Expansion pass or $30 for Pokemon Home included - so it would be a different expansion pass which might work for players who don't want N64/GBA etc... but just want Pokemon - or it could be like "Pokemon Hub" with games, music, anime, Pokemon Home etc... but requires Switch Online to use

The new game is totally gonna be a Legends-like game but with the twist in that you control the Pokemon yourself (the ScarViol DLC thing).

They really should incorporate Pokemon Home and this hypothetical "classic Pokemon games" app into the premium NSO tier. Charing separately for it would be scummy.

Never played Black/White, they never had a 3rd version right? They had sequels instead? What’s the expectation of remakes, include both games content in one package?
Aggressive doubt. They’ll probably just omit that stuff entirely, as they did with even something with less added content, like Platinum. Though in this case for the very reason that a full-on sequel is a bit more meat than Platinum, relatively speaking, I wouldn’t say also remaking B2W2 later is out of the question.

Happy Pokémon Day to you all!! I hope that everyone enjoys today's Pokémon Presents and the entire day overall!!

I, personally, can't sleep because of my excitement for it HAHA!! :D
Happy Pokémon Day to you, too! I hope you have a great day, and when you finally do get some sleep, that it feels as blissful as curling up on top of Snorlax’s belly. :)

No one from Gamefreak has made mention of the presentation yet?

Does that mean either remake of B/W done entirely by another studio or spin off like Snap or Mystery Dungeon?

Edit: and there is it, a rt

B2W2 remake using the same engine as the B1W1 remake would make a ton of sense for Switch 1's 2025 holiday game. Pokemon is usually one of the last franchises to make the jump to new hardware.

LOL TPC should be upset with the handling of ScVi more than BDSP.

In order to get the pokemon company to sign off on releasing them on the 3DS eshop they had to forego several of the key emulator features
There were never gonna be save points because of the connectivity to Sun and Moon. It's not them being finicky, you could literally farm infinite Mewtwos and transfer them over if it worked like other games.
they had to let them charge more than double any other VC title
And what makes you think Nintendo didn't have a say in this? Let's not forget they also charged extra for Earthbound on the Wii U.

Also it's not TPC they'd have to work an arrangement with, since they literally own a share of TPC, but rather Game Freak.

28 minutes to goooooo

I’d be okay even with an expanded remake of the first game if this can help 🤣
God seriously, like at least pay to get the anime voice actors to do the Pokemon cries again 🙃

It's kinda why I hope people can eventually reverse engineer Pokemon Snap so that it can compile on PCs like Super Mario 64 was accomplished a couple years ago, that game desperately needs an overhaul in visual effects even if the mechanics are sound

At least at 12 minutes, even if it’s boring and terrible, it won’t last long! And if it’s good, that means it’ll be nice and concise.
