Megaton Musashi is already dated for April 25th in west. I think they'll show Fantasy Life and DECAPOLICE here, with exact date for Fantasy Life.

Level-5 said they had one more game to be shown early 2024, could be a closer for this Direct: Yokai Watch 5.
They also have their own presentation in April which will definitely feature Yo-Kai Watch.

My expectations are pretty low (& that’s ok, I’ve a backlog bursting at the seams) The current rumoured games are not of any interest.

My hopes however include Xenoblade Warriors, Nier Replicant, Tales of Arise & Scarlet Nexus.

So, I think it’s safer I stick with my expectations.

28 hours to go.

All I can think is, how good would it feel to go to diving in a coral reef in the comfort of my own Switch? EO would be a perfect summer release. ⛱️☀️

Why did this thread randomly become a dunking session in Dragon Quest for a few pages, particularly on XI? That’s the best game on Switch, what is wrong with you guys?

Anyways, Hoping to see DQIII here. Maybe Hi Fi Rush too, though if it’s 30fps I’ll wait for the PS5 version. Xenoblade Warriors would also be cool, though I don’t know exactly how big the audience for that would be. Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes alone sold around what Xenoblade DE and 3 did.

No it didn't.

well, yeah

Fire Emblem Three Hopes: 1mil, while Xeno De and Xeno 3 are basically at 2mil

To be noted also how FE Warriors PRIOR to Three Houses success didn't reach the 1mil milestone, as Zelda Warriors PRIOR to Breath of the Wild success sold 1mil vs 4mil for Age of Calamity

I'd say that with the Xeno series being able to get up to 2.7mil with the second episode and 3 and DE nbeing 2mil seller (with 3 still selling) a Xeno Warriors woudn't be a (commercially) bad transition-project (externally developed)

def. will be there

  • sonic x shadow generations
  • pentiment
  • either sea of thieves or grounded (or maybe both, but no hi-fi rush)
  • a gamefreak game that isn't pokemon (no one cares)
  • contra operation galuga
  • endless ocean

maybe:

  • Momodora: Moonlit Farewell
  • little nightmares 3

I said it in the hardware speculation and I'll say it here:

If they don't have new General Direct out in at maximum 3 weeks from now, then they have no fucking business continuing to be a First Party because they clearly can't handle all the necessities of being a major platform holder. It's not just whether or not their hardware has been lacking, it's also the implication that their subpar handling of Nintendo Direct brand has zero excuses.

Steam is free and yet it's a thousand times more functional than the Switch's garbage OS and NSO.

Thought this was today, refreshing the youtube page and all. The good news is, just under 24 hours left to wait!

Well, as far as they are concerned, there is no news of a delay, only rumours. And because they internally delay a console launch (likely for software reasons) and the fact their os is not like steam they should go third party? Or quit gaming altogether since it's a software problem causing the delay?
I think they did very well setting up a consistent communication channel with their audience through directs. The problem is we expect that to be a two-way communication, and for them to answer when we have questions (based on people leaking internal information). Yet they only communicate when they feel like it and on their own terms. It's not really fair to force our wishes on the Direct system they decided to set up, this is not a conversation but a monologue unfortunately

Edit- I know it's mostly hyperbole out of disappointment from this possible delay, but to say a company that delays a console release by a few months and does not acknowledge that and makes up for it the very next weekend day has no business being a first party is a bit harsh when they have a top 3 all time selling console out with record sales for all their major franchises

Fun fact: The Endless Ocean series is one of the precious few Nintendo IPs (at least of the ones published in Japan, sorry StarTropics...) to not have had any form of representation in Super Smash Bros., not even a spirit in Ultimate.

me watching people get baited

My expectations are low, but I do that for all Directs; as long as two or three announced games interest me, the whole thing was worth it.

Incidentally, I will be at work by the time the presentation is uploaded, so please, someone get hyped/mad on my behalf until I can watch it :p

So hear me out, what if we got Master Sword: a Soulcalibur tale, from team Soulcalibur? A Legend of Zelda fighting game seems like an obvious pull. Feels like something overdue following Pokken

I mean there’s always the reel but MMW also has some question marks, that and there could be a Nintendo collab suit

My bottom of the barrel expectations

-Mameda no Bakeru & that new Shin Chan game localisation
-Sonix Generations Trailer
-Update on Saga Emerald
-Retro Stuff from Digital Eclipse: Dark Forces is right around the corner
-Level 5 stuff
-Shiren update / demo
-SMTV thingy
-Those Microsoft ports

Please be true

Unless Harada changed his mind big time, i doubt this will happen.

Harada, iirc, one said it would have to be done by Monolithsoft. Of course Monolithsoft wouldn't be able to make it multiplatform, and i think Harada wouldn't greenlight this if it was an exclusive (and Nintendo wouldn't pay the bills).

I'd be more than down! But I suppose the main thing would just be to ask exactly how much of "Project Soul" even still exists, and what's left hasn't just been absorbed into the Tekken machine.

I really liked SC6, but apparently it "didn't do well enough" for Bamco's liking, and the producer/face of the brand, Motohiro Okubo left Bamco three years ago.

Much like Capcom and SF, it's just going to be even harder to get another fighting game greenlit at Bamco, when your main brand is the one that reliably brings home the bacon.

I remember reading a leak back in the For 3DS/Wii U days that said there would be an Endless Ocean stage on Wii U where all the fighters were underwater. I think it said the physics were the same and it was purely visual?

In retrospect, that sounds so fake but I thought it would have been the coolest thing ever at the time.

I thought I traveled back in time for a second reading this.

I think he did, otherwise we wouldn't get the Baten Kaitos collection. A system exclusive HD remaster collection, that's what both of the series are.

You could argue in this case that iirc theres also some Nintendo ownership in play, i think?

Xenosaga would be a bit different.

Eh, I don't think it'll be that different. Nintendo still be involved as it is still a Monolith game. They'd help the development of the remaster.

And since Namco founded studios to specifically aid Nintendo development, two publishers are now closer than ever.

Damn SE should send you a gift for buying like 5% of their shipment
They made some super cute Mr Mew slippers to celebrate the launch and I wear those every day. My girlfriend just thinks they're cute kitty cat slippers and has no idea what a fucking loser she's dating.

Could always use what’s left of project Soul paired with the Pokken team. After Pokken’s success I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to do another Nintendo themed fighting game, and Soulcalibur makes a better base for Zelda than Tekken. Plus the Soulcalibur team is rudderless without a backer right now so it's a good way for them to get some support again. Add in Link already being a good fit for the engine after 2's guest slot.

Oh and since thought has been stuck in my head for years, some elaboration.. Tho it would be a bit more gimmicky and have way more unconventional when we throw in the non-human staple species reps. Like a hammer using Goron that also has body attacks, Zora and Rito, heck throw in a Deku Scrub as a gag character. Figure out an excuse to bring back a bunch of the one off villains too. Lots of fun to be had. Tho we all know we'd wind up with multiple Links… tho they could just have fun with it and make it an era like wind waker where parents name their kid link after the legendary hero, and part of the plot is 3 different supposed Link's who all look radically different and use different styles of movesets(do a kid one who uses items and a single light sword, classic link who's the sword and shield and a larger "heavy" link who uses 2 handed weapons and tools). They're all blonde but otherwise look drastically different because they're based off different eras. Part of the story mode is them all trying to claim the master sword to prove they're the true Link. Could have fun with branching paths in a SCIV style story mode.

That would be cool and a great fit! Then again, I so want some Soulcalibur goodness on Switch that I would welcome (almost) anything related to the IP with open arms. At least give me "Soulcalibur II HD: This One Has Link Edition", Bandai Namco! I bought the GameCube original and I would buy that one.

Yeah, with the Pokken squad a lot of them either a) were seen working on 2021's Snap, or b) went off to work on Tekken 8.

It's one reason I'm definitely interested in next week's Pokemon thing, too. It's already been three years since New Snap, and base development on Tekken 8 is complete. I'd love to see another Pokken, but I guess it's just a matter of what that team wants to do next.

If a Lizalfos in a Zelda-themed Soulcalibur clone is the main way Lizardman/Aeon Calcos' moveset gets to live on, then so be it, haha

There's 0 Turrican on Steam.

Therefore it sucks.
Checkmate.

Yes, we need to keep manifesting a new Etrian Odyssey until it happens.

Man I hope that Pyoro hint is not Endless ocean. Nintendo is literally doing everything they can for me to hate their first party offerings (fitness Wario to Paper Mario) and Endless Ocean could be another. One of my worst purchases on Wii, it was no game at all, just fun little app for younger children. It won't look good especially now, with all the high quality underwater games around, ABZÛ or Subnautica.

Just remaster more overlooked stuff won't ya? Codename STEAM is over there waiting its turn.
I stumbled upon this post by you about a week ago because Lukas quoted a post of his on the same page. would you consider yourself among the people you identified then?

Yup. People don't just want first party games, they want the first party games they like. Another Code got so many negative responses on twitter and YouTube because of that.

And worst thing is Nintendo actually listens to those fans. That's why Switch is by far the worst Nintendo console in terms of first Party new IP's: Just 4. And it's the console with MOST Mario games ever...

Are you really taking my posts seriously? Do I need to have a /s end of my posts? This is a Partner Direct, that Endless Ocean game (most likely a spiritual successor) is not from Nintendo...
